Its really not a huge secret how much I dislike this song and the worst part is, I don’t even dislike it musically. It's a very beautiful piece, but I have oversung it to the point of no return.
I really had no drive to record this and it ain’t half bad, but there's definitely a point halfway through when you can tell i stop giving a fuck. I originally sang it as a warm up, so I decided to post it anyway! I really don't consider this a super serious cover but I know a ton of you guys have been wanting this for years so here it is anyway.
Either way, I hope you hooligans enjoy it.

i saw the full musical the other night and good god you're right.
This is a song me and my mom dearly love and tend to sing to one another. Yeah, it is oversung but it makes the emotions more vibrant. That's an amazing thing about covers. Some people try to mimick songs so closely, and when someone does it differently you feel the emotion so much more.

Yup! I believe my highest belt is an Bflat or C above the staff, but I haven't checked it in over a year so that totally could have changed. As much as I hate Prince Ali (ua-cam.com/video/PWqCwys9a6M/v-deo.html), I definitely go far above a C in this cover. More shrieking than singing but you get the gist.

I'm not quite sure what my own range is, because my high school choir teacher put me in both soprano and alto sections, and last time I checked, those are opposites. I just know I'm most comfortable somewhere around Sara Bareilles type pitch and that I can't sing real high or real low

When I was a kid and I first watched this movie I absolutely loved this song, it let me live my fantasies out in my imagination and always gave me the chills. A decade goes by and I’m 14 and I have no memory of this song, sadly, but I feel like I’m missing out on how good music can be but I don’t know how to remedy this feeling. Now 16, I’m scrolling through covers of songs and I just so happen to come across your cover and and it’s like suddenly everything is clear and I’ve never felt goosebumps like this in years. I want to thank you so much for the work you do if my favorite songs and for helping me truly feeling in touch with music.

Anna, please don't be upset about it being oversung. Its not. One thing my singing instructor always told me was "Its always better to sing with more emotion than less. If you can make someone else feel what emotion the song portrays, you have done your job as a singer. Never sacrifice emotion for beauty or style." This is my favorite of all your songs because I can tell you felt every bit of emotion you had while you sung this. It is raw and paints thee story for me. I almost cried when I first heard this. Who cares if its more stylistic when I can feel something I can't feel anywhere else.
