#KnockedLoose #ATearInTheFabricOfLife
The story is about the couple at the start of the video getting in to a car crash and losing his partner and being consumed by grief and guilt because he feels like it's his fault. You hear a lot of callbacks to "we should have left before the storm" and other things like "carried you to heaven's gates, I am forced to stay" since he feels responsible for her death. Its surprisingly emotional for hardcore music imo and i really love it
@@JaredCarterDrums nah son, he said this is all fiction in an interview
@@JaredCarterDrums i dont think thats happened to bryan lol
i guess you could say it's
emotional hardcore ahuhuhuhuhuhuhuhu
@@MyoticTesseract i didnt know that emo stemmed from hardcore, thats kind of neat. As for the lame pun BOOOOOOOO
@@xopiglet9372 no shit it didn’t happen to Bryan. Do movie directors only make movies about their own life experiences? It’s an art piece with the plot being someone losing their significant other in a car crash that they caused and then feel the guilt and grief from.
This whole EP gives me full-on chills, absolutely incredible.
dude same wtf
I was literally starting to think I just didn't like music anymore. . . Then this dropped.
i get more bits and pieces of the story every time i listen and watch, and if you read the lyrics you can really understand what's happening, and they're unbelievably well crafted so I highly recommend reading some of them
but the gist of it seems to be that the main character kills his wife/lover in a car crash and the EP follows his descent into grief and guilt until he finally can't take it anymore and he digs up her grave and kills himself to be with her again. the visuals at the end of their skeletons hugging gives me such unreal chills
Im interpreting the dark figure as a manifestation of his grief and guilt...like a Dark Passenger.....dragging him deeper and deeper into the voids we see as dark spheres in the transitions.
@@muaddib4329 Thats pretty much the same take away i got from it.
To dig into it a little further, I think he actually died in the crash as well, but didn't know it and was trapped in purgatory battling his guilt. He thought that the ghost/demon was his grief trying to encompass him and trap him in purgatory forever, but then he realized that it was an embodiment of her spirit trying to find her way back to him. "When I saw the ghost was you, all the lights went out" = now that we're finally together again, I can finally rest (move on from purgatory)
@@EmceeMayo Just to back up your theory a little bit, it makes a lot of sense considering the use of the Silent Hills P.T. radio broadcast that the band uses (both in the beginning of this and at the end of "in the walls") showing they are fans of the games. SILENT HILL SPOILERS AHEAD: In P.T., you are stuck in a looping hallway reliving the scene of a family murdered in a house. Considering the story of kojimas next game after silent hills was cancelled "Death Stranding", the current theory for P.T. is the protagonist is stuck in a purgatory of guilt (the looping hallway) for the murder of the family. Also the earlier entry in the series Silent Hill 2 was about a character who was called to the town "Silent Hill" by a letter from his wife who was supposed to be dead for years. Turns out in the end he actually was the one who murdered his wife and silent hill was a purgatory that pulled him there to face the guilt of what he had done. Would make a lot of sense if they pulled inspiration from the games since they are clearly fans
the black metal vocals on God Knows is Matt King of Portrayal of Guilt. they have an album coming November 5th called Christfucker, it's gonna be really good
So glad to FINALLY have this questioned answered for me. Granted, I didn't look that hard. But damn, those vocals were just icky as hell.
The butterflies on Permanent is symbolism for spiritual rebirth/resurrection freedom of from the physical body. So the protagonist died to meet up with dead love one
This is EP of the year and also one of the best releases ever from knocked loose
Convictions is also up there with EP of the year !
@@medusa6491 both are so emotional and unique and eps of the year!
Z2 has entered the chat.
its either this or Zombie II
Absolutely 🤯🔥
This EP is a hardcore masterpiece, and it definitely sets precedents for modern hardcore!
More metalcore than hardcore, but an amazing EP nonetheless.
@@srfokay there’s nothing metalcore about this
@@pridemizzle1565 lmao WHAT?! Do you actually know what metalcore is? This is literally hardcore / metal fusion, aka metalcore.
Its a blend of hardcore and metalcore end of story who cares either way
@@joeyg1463 metalcore is already a metal/harcore blend so a metalcore/hc fusion dont really make sense
The production in this EP is incredible, one of the best guitar tones I've heard in my life, it's huge
Adding yet another piece of work to Will Putney’s extensive catalogue of incredibly well produced metal records. Dude’s a machine when it comes to finding tones and mixes
Gets better each and every listen. They truly outdid themselves with this one
From the viewpoint of just music theory and composition, the EP is an absolute MASTERPIECE.
Permanent is one of the best final songs of any EP/album ever imo. That outro couldn't feel anymore fitting. I'm a sucker for a good closure. The last good closure I heard was "Utrydd dei svake" by Kvelertak from their album "Kvelertak."
We Go Together by ETID on Radical, that's also an insane closer. "I'm starting to get the impression, that I'm the only one alive, and everything's a projection that goes away when I close my eyes. Considering all the destruction and all the drugs that I have tried? I just find it a little strange that I haven't died. I.. WILL LIVE FOREVER, UNLESS I DREAM UP SOMETHING BETTER. I AM THE MOTHER, I AM THE DAUGHTER. I AM THE BODY DEAD IN THE WATER. All points are the center in a space that's never-ending. It's all a part of me. All of the terrible things my love has done to you, who would you be without it? All of the heartaches and the hells that I have put you through? I'd do it all again
Shut up and suffer, there's no other way to exist
This is what you deserve if its all that you've got
Sit in the fire, sit in the fire, find out if you're made of flesh
Loss always wins, it always wins
Don't take it to mean you're not exactly where you belong
Thank me for it
Thank me for it
Perfection is a reminder we're flawed
Never enough
I can't get out
I can't get out
I encompass all things
We have to go together
When we go, we go together
I take all of us
All of us
All of us
All of us
It's all a part of me
I can't get out
I can't get out
I encompass all things
We have to go together
When we go, we go together
I take all of us
All of us
All of us
All of us
It's all a part of me
I can't get out
I can't get out
I encompass all things
We have to go together
When we go, we go together

I find it a little strange that I haven't died
I find it a little strange that I haven't died
I find it a little strange that I haven't died
I find it a little strange that I haven't died
I find it a little strange that I haven't died"
Also The Try (Thank You) and Civeta Dei, both by the Number Twelve Looks Like You, The Try closes out Mongrel, Civeta Dei closes out Put on Your Rosy Red Glasses.
Oh, and The Whitest Lie by Bayside closing out Cult.
The story is really emotional and also disturbing. At first the main character goes through thoughts and feelings which are very relatable and touching. But as the story progresses things get really weird and messed up. It's all really well put together and you don't even need the video to get the experience delivered by the band itself. Just read the lyrics while listening the music and you get a horror masterpiece which is full of raw emotion and disturbing storytelling.
THE RAIN. WASHES. YOU. AWAY.
blood curdling
Now I understand why people get hurt in their live shows.....I'm a big sucker for fast riffs and Breakdowns....but I can imagine turning and kicking like crazy with These songs
These stop motion animators are seriously talented. The way the songs add almost a sound score to the video animation is awesome. The editor also deserves major props. This whole project is so damn good. I’m almost just as impressed by the video and editing as I am the music. What a great fucking EP.
1:47 making a reference to laugh tracks I see with that Sample 😂
my favorite part is during "god knows" bryan's voice breaks lol
time stamp? (I’m a slut for passionate voice breaks in music lol)
@@leanafus551 6:00
Sounds hard af though
@@leanafus551 6:03 soo fucking good
That's not him. That's a guest vocalist from portrayal of guilt
This EP was frickin smackin. Even better that it dropped out of nowhere with an INSANE animated short movie. One of the best projects of the year for sure.
Knocked Loose has mastered the perfect bass and guitar tones, and the perfect mix. Gawd I love it.
PERMANENT BLUE!!
As a whole, I feel like this will be the best presentation Knocked Loose ever makes.
The video is PERFECT for the EP and the compositions are on a different level.
The variety in musicianship and emotion in the vocal performance is unworldly.
There's a story here and just Oscar quality stop motion animation.
My favorite release this year, but I don't think you could separate it into parts, it just has to be taken as a whole.
whenever i need to pass time i play this ep. it's 21 minutes that feels like 10 lol
Been following this band for a long time love them arf arf
I'm SO damn happy I discovered these guys! Their music is awesome, so is this EP!
6:45 - 7:45 now that was an intense minute, holy fuck
Best breakdown on the EP imo
Was waiting for this! What a Masterpiece! I totally cried at the end. Their best work yet. I love the concept. I thought Sleep Token was AOTY, but now I am not so sure anymore. Can't stop listening. My favourite song changes twice a day in the moment.
It's an EP.

They played basically the whole EP at the Sylvee in Madison when they opened for Gojira back in November. It was as insane live as you probably were imagining it.
That contorted in the faille song goes absolutely nuts live. Managed to hear it live last night and oh my god my face melted
4:16 notice how when he's taken by grief, he doesn't even struggle.
I dont even listen to hardcore/metalcore and this EP is exactly what I need in my life
Apparently you need to be
9:18
I used to have this as my ringtone. This has always stuck with me.
The video was stop motion and it apparently took the artist 6-7 months to complete
Knocked Loose just casually surprise dropping their best music yet
Honestly, that breakdown in Contorted in the faille is just perfect!
contender for my favorite release of this year. Contorted In the Faille and Permanent alone are among my favorite tracks by these guys, but the entire EP is just amazing.
This has been on repeat for me since it came out. Great reaction bro.
I has no idea this EP dropped until I saw it on UA-cam and immediately pre-ordered it. Different then ADSOB but definitely angry and pissed
9:58 new alarm clock
i'm so excited that they have blast beats now
Aight. I get it now. These guys are good. Took me a minute to get to the party 🎉
This is head melting
This EP is a god damn masterpiece!!
Bro ur the best reaction youtuber by far, I really hope you get over 100k soon
Honestly best EP of 2021 for me jeez
Knocked loose kicks so much ass lost a tooth last time i seen em live
It's so good. Forced to stay is my fav absolutely brutiful
this is an absolute masterpiece from front-to-back! my steering wheel has taken a beating jamming along to this in the car!
Yeah this ep absolutely wrecks. Might be my favourite EP of the year.
saw them live about a month ago and holy shit it was a wild experience
I sang Where the Light Divides the Holler for karaoke night last night
Absolute greatness. Wow...
Yours is the sixth reaction I've watched and the 19th time I've listened to the full EP 🤣
Dude yes yes yes I’m so glad you’re reacting to the whole thing. This effort doesn’t go unnoticed 🖤
Something fresh, exciting and also well made. This is not 100% my type of music, im classic metalcore/deathcore guy, but this EP was very enjoyable experience.
Contorted in the Faille is really just built different what the fuck.
The part where he just straight up screams at the breakdown gives me goosebumps
@@yesguy245 fucking same dude

I can fully say now, this is one of the best ep’s ever.
best project of the entire year no question
Your hype is so infectious!
THE RAIN WASHES YOU AWAY!!!
YES
This EP is amazing! Also,i think a colab between Knocked Loose and the vocals from LANDMVRKS would be so sick, lol.
Obsessed with knocked loose and Obsessed with this EP!!!🔥🤘
Love the fact this is not on patreon the public deserves this! I gave ya a like but I cant watch it until I react to it. You should definitely create chapters just a tip.
No other way to describe it other than a masterpiece
This reminds me of frail limb nursery, and iowa
This is the some of the best, Hardcore we have around. Cant wait for Upon loss :))
The opening of God Knows is such a Gojira vibe
This is their best release yet. Which is saying something.
The lyrics for Permanent brought a tear to my eye
What's it about and what are the lyrics?
@@TheCivildecay it's about losing a loved one. For me it's the lyrics right before the breakdown at the end "Closure in a physical form/ Reject the hands of the devout/ When I saw the ghost was you all the lights went out"
This EP is legendary. This changed music. 🤘🏻
Forced To Stay is just a perfect fucking track
Epic EP i didn't know this band
God damn this was epic in the darkest way
Can’t wait for the Eidola full album reaction, its up there for AOTY
Some parts of this are so heavy you can’t help but laugh…like jesus fucking Christ Knocked Loose, you didn’t have to go this hard
EP of the year! No need to say anything else.
Masterpiece
Since you’ve said you’re getting into hardcore-if you haven’t already, check out END. Brennan from Counterparts’ side project. They haven’t put anything out in ages, but their discog is pretty sick. The song Necessary Death will put you on you arse.
They dropped a new album a year ago..
@@ataratrophy360 I know, it’s awesome
Didnt know about this, thanks for putting it out there
@@Decrapitate no worries man
You can't just say it's Brennan from Counterparts' side project. There are a ton of talented people from a myriad of bands including Will Putney from FFAA, Andrew McEnaney who used to be in Structures, and more.
It's funny how music is all about timing. When I tried listening to this EP when it first came out I hated it. The vocals were too raw and I just couldn't get into it. Like a month ago I started to give Knocked Loose another try and I am obsessed with them and this EP blows my mind. I can't believe I ever disliked this band or Brian Garris's vocals.
FINALLY
Thanks for the Reaction. Shame on me that i didnt noticed the new EP. Day is safed.
But You need listen to Laugh Tracks cuz its very different than their newest stuff
This sh!t is so sick. Better than the last that they came out with.
How to become legends 101
Will you do Vildhjarta new album? That one is a masterpiece.
Will this be released on cd or vinyl?

Literally my favourtie thing KL has ever made. Never could really get into Laugh Tracks, ADSOB wasnt too bad but this EP REALLY fucking got me hyped, i absolutely love the massive injection of metal into their sound, so much more darkness and metal now and i fucking love it. This is straight up a Metal EP not even hardcore lmao i love it
Really need to check out some of the new SeeYouSpaceCowboy songs that have been dropping. Real emo metalcore days.
