Honestly, since the timeline doesn't add up with Make Your Mark and Friendship Is Magic, I think it takes place in one of the alternate timelines from when Starlight tried to stop the rainboom. It would make sense considering how Twilight is young in her message about Opaline, and something obviously happened to her around that time. So the events of the last episode of Friendship Is Magic would not have happened.
@@summermelody7942 The sonic rainbow might have still happened. Maybe in the middle of the two of them fighting each time they saw eachother, they missed one of the chances to stop it from happening. Or it could have been the world that Twilight left. Since Twilight and Starlight were both present during the rainboom, they may have altered it to send them to another timeline that was exactly like their own. Just like how Twilight was scared of ladybugs for no reason in season 8 when she had no problem with them before like when they were with the breezies.
I swear if they somehow ruin Starlight Glimmer I will run to the writers and glue them to a chair and make them watch all of mlp g4 and take notes on how to treat these characters
If you look at the background of the secrets of starlight logo, you can see that it has blue and purple crystals behind the title. With that being said in the episode “portrait of a princess” when pipp and Zipp were stuck in a cave - it had the same exact crystals. Maybe its the cave where starlight used to steal everpony’s cutie marks in the friendship is magic series? It would make sense considering the series is literally focusing on *’cutie marks*
I wonder if those crystals are the key to finding Starlight. I wonder if that cave is the cave where Starlight had to sacrifice herself to save Equrestira. Could Starlight not be dead but be in limbo?

Given the fact that Gen Four often had characters who were hidden somewhere I wonder if Celestia and everyone else were hidden somewhere and somehow. Nightmare moon was in the moon, Star Swirl along with Pillars and The Pony Of Shadows were trapped by a spell in the Hallow Shades and Starlight herself was trapped by Cozy Glow in G 4’s final season finally.
I've been getting a strong feeling that G5 has been intentionally light on details with post-G4 history - possibly because the writers know full well that after all the villains we've seen taken down (including Chrysalis trying to turn the pony tribes against each other just like Opaline) there's pretty much no explanation that won't make the major G4 characters look like complete screwups.

The only one who ever did was Discord in the season 4 finale and that was when he was already reformed once for a season and a half. I'm not entirely sure If Starlight is going to make an appearance in this special but it would be rlly cool if she does tho! I do really hope MYM isn't ending, or at least the 3D style. Perhaps MYM was about Misty 'making her mark' which she quite literally did (drawing a butterfly on her flank for her cutie mark to literally BE a butterfly.) Perhaps we will then get a brand new 3D series that takes the new main 6 across Equestria and beyond? They can't just lore drop 'Skyros,' a potential land full of Alicorns and leave it there (though it wouldn't surprise me.) As for TYT, they can't expect that to become the mainline series if the episodes are 5 minutes long... I'm also not a huge fan of the artstyle but I may watch it if the lore is decent enough and the episodes are longer. If the artstyle stays the same I suppose I could accept it 😅😊
They almost certainly CAN expect TYT to be the mainline series if it's supposedly the more popular one. Money talks, and if TYT is making more money/ views than MYM, then of course they'll shift gears to the thing that "everyone wants". Perhaps this'll mean we get TYT 'specials' or slightly longer episodes for it to cover a bit more lore... or the characters just get stuck in an episodic format for the rest of eternity...

It's indicated in that marketing material that 4 of the episodes will be 22 minutes long instead, to cover more plot heavy points. Plus it will go back to weekly release instead of bi weekly (which I assume was done so that TYT remained synced with MYM, the latter of which had some delays in production).

I think it could be possible Starlight could return and I want to know what happened to Starlight? If she does return, could she be an alicorn or a unicorn? If Starlight is an alicorn maybe she knew what happened to Twilight and her friends and maybe she could have succeeded Twilight as the ruler of Equestria and maybe as the new mentor to Luster Dawn after the battle with Opaline. If Starlight was an alicorn, where was she at? Like many others I too see the possibility about this next special having something to do with Starlight, Like maybe just like Twilight Starlight probably also left a recorded message with the crystals or maybe the special will be about a completely new character who's named Starlight sure introducing a new character while the series is nearing it's end would but dumb but i'm just saying it's a possibility hell if it does turn out to be a new character named Starlight they could make it so that they are a descendant of Starlight Glimmer.
Sadly, I am one hundred percent sure that the "Starlight" in the title won't be Starlight Glimmer, but just...the light of actual stars. Or something called "starlight". The crystals make it look like it's another thing happening in the unicorn forest, similar to Bridlewoodstock. Considering that (outside of the comics) they haven't ever mentioned Spike, and all of the Mane Six that aren't Twilight have only appeared in the intro of the movie, I somehow doubt they'd bring Starlight back. Amazing as that would be, of course.

Though if Opaline did sucsessfully artificially give Misty a cutiemark prematurely, would it even be genuine?
If this is true then, I hope they explain as much detail about Starlight Glimmer's origin story a possible. So far the only things they brought up is why she made her cult and how she stored everyponies cutie marks, but one thing I would like to know is how did she get her cutie mark and her seemingly impossible to master magical talents like what she did in the season 5 finale.
The title certainly caught me by surprise, thinking they're actually doing something involving Starlight Glimmer. Heck, if it turned out to be about actual stars or the like instead, that'd be the biggest twist. I do hope some long form storytelling will remain going forward, as I enjoy that sort of thing.

Hopefully when you start to see "Tell Your Tale" you would venture to make some quick reviews on them. I dare to say despise the short time they have, they managed to be more interesting, treat topics in a "mature" way and even have interesting conflicts.
I have to say, I don’t agree with a lot of criticisms about TYT, but I will agree that they are a little short. I love that they squish a lot of info in them in a short amount of time, but I need them to be longer.

Whatever they decide to do with the Secrets of Starlight special, I am excited for it. Maybe it will give us some answers to all of this that happened between the generations, who knows. I do not think it is going to be talking about Starlight Glimmer, but again, we will see what happens.
I think it could be possible Starlight could return and I want to know what happened to Starlight? If she does return, could she be an alicorn or a unicorn? If Starlight is an alicorn maybe she knew what happened to Twilight and her friends and maybe she could have succeeded Twilight as the ruler of Equestria and maybe as the new mentor to Luster Dawn after the battle with Opaline. If Starlight was an alicorn, where was she at? If Starlight is a unicorn, is she dead or alive and, what are the secrets she's been hiding? my prediction for secrets of Starlight is that we might have a big battle and see some things we did not expect to see at all. I got to point out another thing November 23rd, that is the date of Doctor Who's 60th Anniversary is going to premier on the same day and, funny thing Doctor Who's 50th Anniversary and the Season 4 opening story of Friendship is Magic premiered on the same day coincidences I think not! 🤣

@@ronaldpagar6513Curiously, Sunny’s figurines bore a strong resemblance to the standard Funko figures, but when G4 characters actually appear, their CGI models were updated to G5 standards. So, we could expect the same. I can understand why though, having different models could look odd.

Like many others I too see the possibility about this next special having something to do with Starlight, Like maybe just like Twilight Starlight probably also left a recorded message with the crystals or maybe the special will be about a completely new character who's named Starlight sure introducing a new character while the series is nearing it's end would but dumb but i'm just saying it's a possibility hell if it does turn out to be a new character named Starlight they could make it so that they are a descendant of Starlight Glimmer.
Sadly, I am one hundred percent sure that the "Starlight" in the title won't be Starlight Glimmer, but just...the light of actual stars. Or something called "starlight". The crystals make it look like it's another thing happening in the unicorn forest, similar to Bridlewoodstock.
Considering that (outside of the comics) they haven't ever mentioned Spike, and all of the Mane Six that aren't Twilight have only appeared in the intro of the movie, I somehow doubt they'd bring Starlight back. Amazing as that would be, of course.
Yeah, if the special was called "Secrets of the Rainbow", my first guess wouldn't be that it was about Rainbow Dash.

I mean, if Opaline really intended to give Misty her cutiemark, she'd need to study cutiemark magic, which Starlight is related to since she's meddled with cutiemarks before.
That said, Twilight said cutiemarks are not something that can be given prematurely. To be fair though, she might've just been teaching a lesson and not actually trying to force a cutiemark. Though if Opaline did sucsessfully artificially give Misty a cutiemark prematurely, would it even be genuine?
If this is true then, I hope they explain as much detail about Starlight Glimmer's origin story a possible. So far the only things they brought up is why she made her cult and how she stored everyponies cutie marks, but one thing I would like to know is how did she get her cutie mark and her seemingly impossible to master magical talents like what she did in the season 5 finale.

The title certainly caught me by surprise, thinking they're actually doing something involving Starlight Glimmer. Heck, if it turned out to be about actual stars or the like instead, that'd be the biggest twist. I do hope some long form storytelling will remain going forward, as I enjoy that sort of thing.
I wouldn't confuse the availability of free episodes of Tell Your Tale on UA-cam with popularity over Make Your Mark. Accessibility plays a role here.
I wonder, what do you think about not just Tell Your Tale but also the G5 comics that have been put out? I haven't read them but I've heard that they're out there and don't really make a whole lot of sense and don't handle Discord well as a character. I am curious if they really have any bearing on the actual G5 shows. I'd love to hear Dr. Wolf's take on all of this.

Hopefully when you start to see "Tell Your Tale" you would venture to make some quick reviews on them. I dare to say despise the short time they have, they managed to be more interesting, treat topics in a "mature" way and even have interesting conflicts.
I have to say, I don’t agree with a lot of criticisms about TYT, but I will agree that they are a little short. I love that they squish a lot of info in them in a short amount of time, but I need them to be longer.
