Before anyone asks, no. I have absolutely no idea how Blissy landed on my face without getting impaled on my horn.
Pure luck Will, Pure Luck... or perhaps Bliss knows the shape of your face and head so well she somehow positioned herself so she just missed it.. but my money is on the luck. still great video.

Ah, ze classic no dialogue episode! Is it an art piece highlighting the ability to tell a story with no dialogue.... or a thingy Blissy wanted to do cus we in the audio editing department had trouble catching up? ^^; The answer is..... hey look, a penny!!

Without saying a WORD of dialogue, we understand the characters, their personalities, and have a fun story too!
Description is similar to Equestria Girls "Music to my Ears". That had only one line of dialogue by Mrs. Cake.
I showed this video to family members--including non-bronies--and they liked it.

Ok real talk, this was epic. And doc's running animation is so damn smooth. Also also, jeez doc and keep up with just two legs? Imagine him on all fours.
It's a statement worth repeating that there seems to be more to him than just being a magically altered canine...

It's like running of the leaves but everypony is as competitive as Rainbow and Applejack. Quite entertaining.
Doc’s approach to winning is how I approach winning Mario Kart, it’s very effective.
This i can agree the best approach to win Ina race like this is to stay Close to first but not too close till a blue shell shows up but if it's the third lap and you're approaching the finish line try drafting behind first and use any item to your advantage. This is quick tips from a mario kart pro.
More or less it also imitates how Twilight Sparkle got a relatively high finishing placement (didn't actually win but did much better than RD and AJ thought she would) in "Fall Weather Friends" - even though this was pre-alicornization and the fact we meet her older brother the following season implies she already had a bit of an advantage genetics-wise...
Can't say that Doc doesn't hold his own, despite having no magic. What a trooper. Also, the animation on this is *SUPERB.* Very nicely done, all around!
I like how Aramau mentioned no flying but I guess she didn’t say anything about magic😂
Her brain was probably clogged with having so much to deal with between matters in Coaltown, minding the foals, and keeping tabs on the squeebrained guards at the FOB.
A fun race. Well done. I liked the no dialogue since none was needed. Also the horse noises through the megaphone were funny.
If you need a smooth camera rail for panning or moving shots, the "Catmull-rom Cinematic Cameras" GMOD workshop addon works pretty well
You know what's funny? I think they're still on the first lap. They're gonna have to get healed and finish the other two!

I was expecting the joke that the leftovers would crawl/wrestle over the finish line, only to be reminded there's still 2 laps left.

Honestly, should've banned using magic as well as flying. But I guess the point was a twist to the one in "Fall Weather Friends" - personal rivalries ended up affecting the outcome of both participants negatively.

The running animations on all the characters were really fun to watch, and knowing wolves, its no suprise the Doc won. And he looked pretty happy aboit it, too!

Holy flaming rainbows. This was amazing considering it only used stock sounds.

Huh, I didn't know you could set a rainbow on fire. And they say ponies aren't educational! Seriously though, Doc, this was adorable! Great job! And a happy thanksgiving to you and the rest of the crew! And here's hoping Blissy's doing and feeling better after all she's been through this year.
This was so awesome and hilarious I love it! And it figures that Doc would be the one to win because he's the only one who followed the rules, In fact after all the cheating the other's did they should've also added no using magic to the race rules. lol

In hindsight, if Flying was gonna be banned for the race, Magic probably should have been too. Especially Magic that lets you basically create a Bridge above everyone else.

I’m not gonna lie, Lightning Bliss and Dr Wolf looked so adorable in this animation. Cuz they are, that’s why!
Ok. How freaking fast is Dr Wolf (the character)? I know he was originally an actual four legged wolf that got uplifted into being we know today and most likely still has the endurance of his original form but he is still only on two legs against ponies several times his size. Hell even Lightning is bigger.
oh, you made me think of "Florence Ambrose" from the webcomic "freefall" by Mark Stanley.
she's also an "uplifted" wolf, and an Engineer capable of getting a broken-down spaceship flying using mostly scavenged parts!
I actually enjoy that comic quite a bit :) Been a fan for many years.
Excellent work, Doc. I hope you'll be able to give us more episodes of this series you made. I got into this series from a fan of this show. I am not a fan of MLP but I am a massive fan of TF2. And when I saw this series, it was weird. Since the game, Team Fortress 2 has had tough and strong mercenaries, not cute, adorable ponies. But hey, anybody can be strong with the power of friendship.
And this is why you forbid magic as well. XD
Okay, no offense to doctor Wolf But I wasn't expecting him to win I mean, compared to Him with the every other Mark with 4 legs In the group He should be slightly Slow even though he's a Wolf and their natural predators Live in credible speed His good nature and he's a doctor So he would not have the speed and instinct But behold he wins
I think it was to imitate the outcome of "Fall Weather Friends" (even though with hindsight it's become clear that Twilight wasn't as disadvantaged in terms of physical ability as Rainbow implied she would be - even BEFORE becoming an alicorn).
It does help that everypony else was more focused on outdoing each other than winning the race, taking each other (and others uninvolved with their shenanigans) out in the process. Even Jasper and Maddy were more focused on knocking each other around than actually racing.

*rainbow dash and apple jack would be having a grudge match and bumping into voice and golden* *rarity mane catches on fire on accident by firebrand and trys to make him pay but ends up crashing into ellyora by mistake* *pinkie pie trys to use her party cannon to launch herself ahead on the pack but ends shooting herself into thespio and lightning bless*
*twilight trys to pull ahead now that she's near the finish only to be pulled in lnto mady's and jasper's fight cloud* *fluttershy and doc end up both crossing the finish line both winning the race*

I think the next Exercise Race Day should include a "no magic" rule, too, to make it even more fair for everycreature.
Edit: I believe the scene of Blissy creating a magic road above the track to gallop on is a reference to F-Zero 99.
You know, it says a lot about Dr. Wolf's speed when you see him keeping up and even out running horses.
Loved the episode and goldenfox did a great job guitar riff William tell, buuuut don't ya think an upgraded version of ocarina of times race track theme might have fit as well?
