What a timing of this video, I've just got my Saroo this week. I use CRT with Saturn and i still have Virtua Cop 2 to complete. Your channel and videos are very genuine and i guess most of us watching feel the same.
Hello, very nice video! Are there any problems playing games with multiple disks? Like Deep Fear for example? Will the 2 disk be loaded automatically? Keep it up and best regards.
It does, right? I wish sonic X-treme was more fleshed all. All you can do is run around in a small world. I guess it was a proof of concept type thing.
So glad this came out because I am so sick of seeing people take out perfectly good CD drives to install that fenrir, called out the behavior in a Saturn group on f/b and was banned by the mods who obviously were in bed with fenrir to some degree. Glad to see that product go the way of the dodo.
Just a heads up on that retro link cable. The main complaint is that the audio is wonky and/or get bad over time. Also, with the Saroo, some Saturn games don’t like the fast speed and will run wonky or not run at all. Don’t get me wrong, it’s a great idea, but it’s still a work in process.
@@polygonlegends I believe the ones that don’t like the fast load times are problematic. Still, the SAROO is an awesome and cheap way to play potentially the entire Saturn library (from all regions). Also, I’m subbing to you because, a person who appreciates the Saturn can be all that bad. 🤝
@@polygonlegends now days it can arrived in two weeks I order the n64 everdrive for $50 which in Amazon or eBay is $80 but I used klarna app for payment didn't pay directly
How far along did it come compatibility wise? Last time I checked these flash cards still couldn't compare to a Fenrir. Btw, I got Panzer Dragoon Saga in "like new" condition and it was already painful to pay 400 bucks back then. Even though I love RPGs, I only played the demo back in the day but never bought the game.
So far, MOST of the games I've tested have worked. At first I was having issues with Albert Odessey but then I updated the firmware and I was able to play it. Most other games have worked, even unrleased games Blur and Sonic Xtreme. BTW by today's standards, that's a deal! I love JRPGs as well.
@@polygonlegends That's great to hear, especially if people don't want to replace their disc drives for being able to play the original discs now and then. Btw, I think my favorite game on the Saturn is Shining: The Holy Ark. Great atmosphere and reminds me more of PC dungeon crawlers than your standard JRPG. Shining in the Darkness I found too simple.
there are a couple of different versions of Sonic Xtreme out there, but first make sure the .bin and .iso files are lowercase. This is a great idea for a follow up video actually!
@@polygonlegends thanks for replying back, yep I put them all into lowercase and are bin/cue files. Did it just work or did you add anything to the config file? Just fixed sonic Jam today the sonic world part in the game, which was very glitchy and graphical issues. @@polygonlegends just the 5x, I plan on getting the 4k eventually. The 5x is perfect for the Saturn though. It’s well worth the price, the ossc is a solid budget option too
The Saroo flash cart does not offer save states, but who knows, it's a community project so maybe one day! You can however save your game to internal memory.
I just wish the graphics could be tweaked a little like if you emulate with Yaba Sanshiro. Yeah I’m 52 but not a purist. Still have my Saturn but sold most of the games years ago and I’m not buying them back it these silly prices.
These prices are the #1 reason I got this Saroo flash Cart! I'm with ya! I've never tried Yaba Sanshiro but I'm looking into it. I used to use a PS1 emulator that could upgrade the resolution on games and that was cool because it made it easier to see what you were playing.
you will not be able to play homebrew. there's half a dozen other ode options. cannot recommend a saroo. get a fenrir instead. this product has major drawbacks. if you want to keep your disc drive, get a satiator.
I have a Fenrir and its great, except it has one flaw. It keeps corrupting my SD card, about once a year. When it happens I have to format the SD card, then copy all the files back to it, then it works fine again.
I NEED this. Sega Saturn is the coolest console ever!
The Saroo has been a gamechanger for me! I should def get one

Thanks Mr. Marrek! I'm having a lot of fun sharing my thought, stories and knowledge of my favorite games. Thanks for watching!
Agreed, Saroo ROCKS 🪨
Awesome video. I just found your channel and really enjoy the vibe and format youre going for.
Glad you enjoy it!
Ur sonic rap sold me! I’m purchasing a sharoo 😂
Hello, very nice video!
Are there any problems playing games with multiple disks?
Like Deep Fear for example?
Will the 2 disk be loaded automatically?
Keep it up and best regards.
Great question! I have yet to play a Saturn game on the Saroo where I had to switch discs but when I do, I'll come back here and let you know!
Gotta love the PCB sniff
Sonic Xtreme look like using the night into the dream 3d engine

I agree! It’s nice having something that doesn’t destroy your console physically.
Wish there was something like this for the dreamcast without needing to replace the disk drive
How do I get back to SAROO game menu without resetting the Saturn?

With the SAROO, I noticed a few games felt kind of glitchy, there are commands you can paste into the text file that fixes some of them.

@@wingman-1977 I love finding like-minded souls. Thank You!
any saroo is good I've got one and have no problems place 0.6v firmware on the sd and your good to go!
Do the games come with it
Yes!
that's what i was wondering cause I'm tech illiterate and would never know how to put games on it
The games come with it
How well does Dragon Force 2 with the English patch work with the saroo? Any issues?
Great idea! Adding it to the list of things to try out!
Where can I buy the Saroo cart? -There are a lot of cheap knock-offs. Who's a reputable seller on ebay?
I have a knock-off. The one I purchased was from an ebay seller called flashtree-china. Here's the link www.ebay.com/itm/196350390395
Ali express
@@lionm8699 Yep! you can get em even cheaper on Ali Express. It might take a bit longer to arrive. There's a balance to everything I guess.

Last Bronx any regions doesn't work with saroo😢
Hopefully in one of the next firmware updates it will. fingers crossed.

@@polygonlegendsI thought I heard you can save to the card.
It makes a new virtual memory card on the sd card for each new game you play.
It can’t hold a candle to the Satiator. Get Satiator. It’s worth the money. Quality product that doesn’t have compatibility issues
It’s on my list!
You downloaded the games yourself
The Saroo came with games installed on the sd card but you can add your own game images as well, if you know where to find them.

Satiator is next on my list. I heard good things.
It's not the most compatible, but the fast loading and excellent save file handling make it worth considering.
