Congratulations to the owners of this property. The property has been built to a very high standard. I also love the layout and internal fit-out. The only disappointment is that for almost £2m I'd want a bit more privacy without the adjacent properties being in such close proximity
Yes I agree it’s just 2 metres on either side between properties, would’ve been nice if it was like a wrap around garden giving plenty of space either side. If you’ve got money to buy this house, then you’ve got money to be picky and have options. They’ve really let us down with this property.
@@sandrobossman9268 He will "grant" you nothing. It is a make-believe character from a book that married an underaged female. You know what will help you get this house????? = "MONEY". Forget about the religious bullshit
Tom and Jas are back, thank god. Very nice house. What I learned from my friends and neighbors having Koi ponds is that I never want one, so much work.
This is lovely! At first I thought it was quite an average house, but the basement swung it! I don't think I'd like the responsibility of the fish, but each to his own!
I agree - i would love to keep the fish but think i would have to maybe employ an amateur fish enthusiast to look after them - maybe someone who doesnt have the facilities for them where they live
My favourite part in this video was Jas 😍. On another note , I would swap fish pond for swimming pool, or just a pool to chill in the summer. I don't mind the fish pond but would move it away from the house, so this space can be used as a pool. Or even better, if possible, have smaller pond and share with adjacent pool. That would be cool to soak in the pool and watch fish next to it.
I always find the comments picking holes in houses like this a bit odd. Sure if you had £2m to spend you could get a bigger house or a house with more distance between neighbours, but if you want to live in this area then this is what your money buys. What usually happens is once you start adding things like more distance between neighbours you either lose something (such as internal space or quality of the interior) or you have to go over budget.
I love everything about this house. I don't even like fish, but that pond setup is amazing. Plus, the owner even has movie posters on the wall of their home theater, which you'll notice is a rarity for these sort of houses. It's clear most of these rich owners "just build a home theater because the house is supposed to have one". By comparison, I get the impression this owner actually likes to sit down and watch movies.
I love everything about the house but I would defiantly have installed a pool or hot tub especially as it’s running off solar energy other than that the house is perfect! Congrats to the owners on such a great build 😁
Absolutely beautiful, love love love this property. And that koi carp pond is brilliant, what am amazing idea, and all that grass area. I wonder if you get a pool in there x
Air conditioning a big let down in this amazing house. Couldn’t they install ducted air conditioning so the air comes through the ceiling and not have those big boxes on every room. I am from Australia and only old houses use those old split system AC.
I'm not sure I agree with that. Split systems can often be found in new houses in Australia. It all depends on how much you want to spend both upfront and in running costs and which rooms you want to cool. The AC in this house though clearly looks like an afterthought with those pipes around the side.
I live in Australia and, yes, older homes tend to have split systems, but I also agree with ironsword7. We have ducted heating and cooling. It cost a lot more than having split systems, but it was mainly because we didn’t like the way the bulky split systems look.
ironsword7 I partially agree with you , but “depends how much you want to spend” shouldn’t apply for this house. They spent a lot on everything else, the AC just doesn’t fit the house.
Love the house. Love the presenters. Wonder why such an upscale house has split system air con? Also would be curious how the house is heated. Saw a large water heater in a closet. Radiant floor? Resistant heat from solar? Maybe a USA thing but ceilings a little low. Guess saves some energy but here I am in a definitely middle class house and 16’ here in the family room.
Nah, as someone who has built up a decently big equities portfolio over the last 10 years made it decently big with cryptos like XYO and Kadena, I am still rocking my 2008 Toyota Corolla (unless creating a family comes to mind). Much rather live a low profile than standout and become targeted.
@@fstar3819 Not always that easy unfortunately. Your brain needs to be wired a certain way for high pressure jobs with lots of responsibility. I actually self taught web development which in a few years would have had me earning a nice amount but I have a few mental conditions that got in the way and I quit. Now i'm back in a supermarket barely earning anything and still living with my dad at 33 years of age.
Great house love the basement . I keep fish, and like some one commented id have a lot more stuff in that tank as in plants rocks and stuff. But great property.
Sutton Coldfield, under 2 Million quid? Then it's a bargain. I am from Sutton, and I will assume this is the Walmley area, rather than Little Aston or Four Oaks as you can multiply the values by 10 there.
Like all people doing house tours, you focused exclusively on the rational side of the brain with lots of facts. You didn't talk about the feelings that the property creates, especially the garden and the views. You passed over the wonderful garden far too quickly. I suggest you talk about the feelings that rooms and the garden create as well. There's no need to hurry so much too. Because of this I don't think you did the gorgeous property justice.
I'm not gonna lie, the facade is kind of ugly but it does look neat. The plot is a bit weird though. Is it like 18m wide by 300m long or something. Is that typical in this area? I'm sure the dogs and kids would love it. The backyard, the koi pond, and the basement is probably the highlights of the house for me. The lack of a WIR in the master, and the shared bathroom between the secondary bedrooms is disappointing. I just think of it as another door to close/lock when you enter the bathroom. Nice benchtop in the kitchen which overall looks a bit small for a 5BR house. I like having butlers pantry with a separate sink and dishwasher so you can cordon off the dirty dishes and deal with them the next day if you want. The kitchen splashback honestly looks like what happens when you use a cleaning product on stainless steel that you're not meant to lol. Anyway nice presentation. Looks like the property has sold (STC).
That's a really beautiful property and I too like the concept of the hidden basement and what is down there, particularly the cinema. Personalising changes I'd make: out goes the billiards table and in comes a full hammam, of which the bar stays as part. Next to the koi pond goes a swimming pool, with a glass partition. A butler pantry would go in next to the beautiful kitchen. The master bedroom desperately needs proper wardrobe space; as I'm not a fan of Jack-and-Jill arrangements, one of those bedrooms could be converted for a self-confessed clothes horse. I'd also look into the possibility of a terrace balcony off the master and have great fun landscaping the garden, with its own trompe l'oeil surprise and the illusion of even more space. As a Londoner, I don't mind proximity of neighbours, as long as I don't hear, see or smell them. Really, a very nice property.
'A bunch of parking space', no you have plenty of room to park. Love the sunken car park and black metal windows and door, so what a pity that the windows are so bland. Marble is porous and stains easily. The combined kitchen/dining/living space is too small. The laundry room is the best thought out space. An opportunity was missed to building something spectacular, but they have gone for a series of grey boxes.

Good luck man 👍👍👍
I hope I can afford one like this one day...! Loved it. Great Architect indeed.

It’s a lovely house on a lovely plot but you are a few feet from your neighbours upper windows….at nearly £2 million I’d want more privacy.
Paying over the odds for the fads.
Absolutely stunning, with great design and quality execution. Subscribed :)
Great showcase of this beautiful fully-featured property (I personally love that Cinema Room!), from the most endearing couple on the net.
I like the way you present the house, it is much more enjoyable than other houses tours.
The best houses to buy is one the builder did for himself and wants to sell. It’s usually well done and thought out.
