That is an interesting point about discarding a fire card. So long as it hasn't changed in the NI rulebook, discarding the fire card is not a cost, but a growth action. It does not require you to have a card with fire in order to perform it. I am glad you mentioned it, since normally, I would gain a card first so I could have more options of what to discard, but if I have nothing to discard, then I could do that option first. Granted, having nothing to discard means that you have either no cards or just cards that are not on element for you.
HAHA, found my buddy's main! All of his tactical prowess is "SMASH FACE" no matter what he plays. I like that the spirit is smashface but the cards are utility that supports the spirit without being smashy themselves.
Finally at last I can watch your videos without having spoilers. I've being seeing them in my feed and had to ignore them. Sadly, I had to cancel my order on Backerkit to get the Nature Incarnate expansion before quarter 1 2024 here in Europe, which I predicted would be a mess, but I didn't think it would be as bad as it was. On the upside I manged to get it cheaper via a retailer and earlier too, although I had to wait an extra 2 months compared to the US. Enjoying your series on the new spirits so far. I will be going through them all. Your insights are always interesting.
Just played this guy for the first time and absolutely love him! It’s really cool to have a giant kaiju mountain slowly walking around stomping on enemies. I also really like just how easy his innate is to trigger!
I just realized that on Board C, the notoriously tough board for many spirits (compared to other boards), Behemoth starts with all his stuff in Land 5. right in the middle of the action! (At least for solo…multiplayer might result in a land 8 start potentially.)
Just found they hide some future spirit names in lore, like behemoth in teeth. Looking forward seeing Joining of three rivers mentioned in sunlight river
Love the channel. Best source of SI info and strategy I have found. Have you ever considered recording commentary over gameplay in post vs doing it live? I’m sure doing it live is faster but recording after could allow for some good content I believe. I’ve logged only about 75 games of SI, so it can be easy for me to lose site of a spirit’s short and longer term goals in an instance when Trying to follow a more experienced player’s train of thought. I do enjoy your explanations of drafting powers absolutely. I crave more SI info presented in a succinct way for both new and old players. The game’s community is still so small for a game with so much depth to be explored! I think your comprehension of the game is very solid and I would be happy to share more of my ideas if you’re looking for that kind of feedback!
G3 seems a bit counter-intuitive to me... It feels like if I don't have a power card with fire element on it I shouldn't be able to choose this option.
Great video, nice to get an overview of the uniques because I dont have the expansion yet! Could you elaborate a bit for what type of player this would be a good/fun/suitable spirit, and for what type of player less so?
Ahh I forgot to mention this in my video! I'll remember this for my future NI videos. This is a spirit meant for a player who loves offensive / aggressive playstyles. It really wants to kill invaders as fast as you can! The spirit has a single defensive tool which is really strong. The key to the spirit is managing where you innate is going to be (ideally you want to focus in built up lands)
I played 3 games with behemoth last night and it seemed a little too powerful... Now I usually am only playing at adversary level 4, but I usually only dropped one blight. But I agree, the empowered stomping around the island is just so fun!
It’s definitely on the stronger end of average. It does have some tricky matchups. I recommended a few changes to make it a bit weaker, but they didn’t want to make it too complex as a low moderate.
Something I’m having trouble finding about Incarna - I know they function as presence, but does an Incarna plus a presence in a land make a sacred site?

Board C can be very strong on some spirits too! Stone, and Vengeance are a few spirits that love the board! But it also can be a bad board!

There was one on either Serpent or Wildfire that came out later, don’t recall which spirit it referenced though.
Looked it up-Serpent referenced Volcano Looming High long before Jagged Earth came out!

Works the same for Downpour, you can double grow the first “however many” turns, and even though you’ll quickly run out of cards.
I take it sometimes in my main build. G3 was tough to balance on Behemoth!
