3:19 I recall seeing this. I thought it was on PBS. Could it also have been shown on PBS? Or maybe we saw it when borrowing someone else's video tape. 16:44 When I was in middle school, in Home Economics class, we students saw stuff like this on video tape. The one we saw was a different show but on the same topic. Now I know that they must've been taped off of HBO back in the early '80s!
I remember consumer reports on HBO. I wish more of the older ones could be found and uploaded for those who remember this era. The opening at 16:44 I remember seeing as early as 1980 or 81 with The Medicine Show. If you find more love to see em... :)
Gotta admit, I've never seen the "InterMission: Featurette" bumpers at 3:12 and 12:43 before, ever. That must've been the least used of the InterMissions (behind the Video Jukebox and the occasional Special, formerly Something Short & Special).
I hated HBO having the rights to Wimbledon. And The Great Muppet Caper will always be my favorite Muppet movie. I remember HBO playing it a lot in the summer of 1982.
Game Shows On The Air For The Summer Of 1982 ABC Daytime Family Feud NBC Daytime Wheel Of Fortune CBS Daytime The Price Is Right Tattletales Later In September 20th 1982 The New $25,000 Pyramid And Child's Play
Were kids meant to watch The Not-For-Kids-Only Show? Surely there must've been more interesting things on TV in 1982. And you gotta PAY to watch that???
Thanks for these rare moments of HBO content.
HBO had the best shows and movies absolutely so hard to get those shows now
I just finished reading Mel Brooks' autobiography where he gushes about the matte painting guy featured in this.
HBO was so exclusive back then

This aired on my dad's 51st birthday. It seems to odd to think he was just a few years older than I am now (I was 4 at the time).
