- On 21 November, 2014, the entirely student-run Trinity Orchestra returned with a new performance of their most adventurous and highly anticipated musical project: Gorillaz iconic second studio album “Demon Days” arranged for full orchestra, band, and singers.
Following 2011’s Daft Punk medley, and 2012’s Pink Floyd reprisal, this music video shows the full orchestral performance of the Gorillaz Medley, made up of “Rock the House”, “Clint Eastwood” and “19/2000”, in the Exam Hall, Trinity College Dublin. The full set list included “Dirty Harry”, “Feel Good Inc.”, “El Manana” and “Kids with Guns”.
Trinity Orchestra will return to Forbidden Fruit 2015 with an entirely new set on Sunday 31st May 2015. For more information see forbiddenfruit.ie.
Trinity Orchestra is a voluntary student society and derive no financial benefit from the production of this video.

The confused dude third from the left at 0:33 was the funniest part of the video
lol thats true
lmao he looks high
Fantastic! I really wished that the mixing was a little better.
Great Medley of Gorillaz great music
I FUCKIN LOVE THIS SO MUCH AHHH The transitions are amazing from song to song
Bravooooooo ❤
I’m one of the guys rapping on this video (the one trying to
do a note-for-note version of the cadence of the rap verses on the record). Looking
solely at my own performance on this track I think it falls well short of the
respect/interpretation that the music deserves. I think charitably it could be
called corny, but in terms of trying to emulate the vocal nuances/tone my
performance strays a lot closer to blaccent than I’m proud to admit. While it wasn’t
my intention to do blaccent I think that the choice that I made here was
definitely wrong and doesn’t treat the material or hip-hop culture with the
respect it deserves and I’m sorry that I did it. This is a case of appropriating
a culture that isn’t my own and contributing to an erasure of black voices that
sits at the heart of the systemic racism that is prevalent in Ireland and across
the world. There are loads of talented Irish rappers that would have done a
better job here. I should have shown better judgement and shouldn’t have put
myself in the way of a better and more respectful version of this art. I don’t
think my part in this is a good representation of what the orchestra is about
or what it stands for. There’s no excuse. I regret it and I’m deeply sorry.
“Because hip-hop is black culture. It’s not white culture,
it’s black culture. That doesn’t mean white people can’t participate or even
add new styles and flavours. But it does mean they have to be respectful when
they’re in someone else’s house.” - Dean Van Nguyen - headstuff.org/entertainment/music/on-versatiles-debasement-of-hip-hop/
The shape of our society currently means that people with privilege
need to support and contribute to the work of anti-racist organizations and
activists. I’m going to support the work of MASI and other anti-racist
organisations in Ireland and seek an end to Direct Provision. For me this means
a commitment to opening my wallet, lobbying my representatives and shutting my
mouth in order to listen to the experiences of people who face discrimination
every day in Ireland. Their lives and their experiences matter.

I still think the other performances in this video and the
arrangements of the music stand up and the other performers are using their
talents to make something that is really good and brings something new to the
table in appreciation of the music. I’m sorry that I did not match their
efforts.
The sub-par performance was excusable - your mind-numbing addendum is not. There are very real problems in the world yet we have virtuous saints like yourself waxing poetic about how sorry they are for covering a song. We both know not one black person was disadvantaged by you rapping Del's verse. In fact, I'm sure Del (a highly intelligent guy) would be groaning reading this tripe.
I'm sure there's a million other harmful behaviors you (and all of us collectively) could be apologizing for, but sadly we'd rather this cultish rubbish about "blaccents"...
You're a good musician and a good person. Please don't be hard on yourself.
Answer you damn emails! Sincerely, your Irish brother from Sweden.
UM. HELL YES.
Love this cover. it made me comment for the first time ever.
This is so great! I'm a huge Gorillaz fan and you guys ROCKED this. Kudos to everyone involved.
That was awesome
THIS IS JUST PERFECT!!!!
Female 2-D is nice voice.
Amazing cover! That is by far the best Gorillaz cover and totally a personal favorite.
Seamus!!
2:21 FINALLY!
Amo la voz de ella en Clint Eastwood 😍😍😍
give us more songs trinity orchestra ,
My ears are jizzing
I love how there's absolutely AMAZING covers out there in the world like this, and then the only video the official gorillaz have in their covers playlist is a meme remix. Gg, Gorillaz.
Wow this is fantastic, are you going to release this as a purchasable track somewhere?
This is very good... A few more 'Studio Edits' of your work and I think you'll get a lot more notice....
The guy who comes in at "The world is spinning too fast," has a voice that reminds me of Woodkid.. Great Cover!
Listen to their Pink Floyd act. The mixing is just as bad, but they don't seem to get professionals to do the editing as it seems.
Phoda!
Aaaaah! this is such brilliant music with such poor mixing, please tell me you can redo the mix
