I started watching this hungry then cooked some kickass steak in the cast iron skillet (family was raving). I am full now, but I'm still craving these tacos!
She was great. I think they worked great together on the video. Tortillas might be my favorite dish, so great episode. And now I want one, or two. Or twelve.
My parents were high school teachers at Wilson High in East LA. And we had family friends from Kingsberg in the Central Vakkey. So I don't know exactly where this comes from... Spread ground beef on one half of a corn tortilla about a quarter inch thick and stack them alternately so the stack is straight and every side gets meaty. When it's time to fry them they get shallow fried, presenting them to the oil with the intended crease first so the tortilla wraps nicely around the meat and doesn't crack. Ease them in and fry both sides. Juggle them in and out from the stack to a bread pan lined with newspaper. Then there would be a buffet of potential taco toppings. Between our two families we would probably go through a hundred. Many bread pans worth. So they are kind of a marriage between soft and hard tacos. They're fried and crispy around the edges, but still pliable so they can be opened up to add toppings. My record is twelve.
I’m always lookin forward to another episode of this and local legends, so much fun to watch! Also Brad, tomatillos are in the nightshade family but much closer related to gooseberry’s than tomatoes 👍🏼
Did I hear you mention Larb when you were talking about the beef?? I would love a video with someone about making Larb!! It’s literally one of my favorite things on Earth. ❤
Tacos are great. Tacos are lovely. I watched the whole thing. Allow me, though, to empower you, Mr. Leone. Get into some real weird, esoteric foods. I know you're into it (magnolia blossom video? HELL YES). Milkweed "capers" and Saskatoon berries and stuff like that and how to use it. I'd be honored and delighted to learn some genuinely new stuff from the most entertaining guy in the biz
Reminds me of childhood, so much! Mine just had saved Taco Bell hot sauce packets as the hot sauce. Mom always fried the best tortillas ❤. Great vid Brad, been a follower and viewer for years!
Growing up Southern on gringo tacos, and then finished growing up in El Paso on good tacos, I still make both. This video was fun for me. Working construction as a teen, we bought these from the lady with the cooler, but they had potato, and not avocado. Well, and no lettuce, and usually with beans. So good, though.
Steak, carne asada, or picadillo... (yes I know they're all "carne asada") It's the beauty of the Mexican culture; Everyone! especially moms, and fathers of the country just making memories of the best food they used to eat from their ancestors and I think it's beautiful. Not to mention the many salsas 🤤
I grew up with the Old El Paso hard tacos. Seriously did not know about soft tacos until well after college. Grew up liking tacos, but also hating that the shell basically sliced my cheeks open like the Joker's.
Totally know whjat you are talking about and agree but if you take her advice of store bought tortillas, and can find a high quality store bought salsa it's a pretty fast meal.
hey brad... from victoria australia.. as a suggestion.. how bout Ukrainian Borscht?...thanks for the content... keep up the amazing work with everything you are doin....
To many tacos and burgers are exactly the same .People act like they are special. And they are . To them but if it's basically the same thing then it's funny how people act like they are so special
The smiling friends cameo was perfect!

Love the “Still Alive” playing in the background.
Brad is the cure for depression.
Facts, he was one of the pillars keeping my sanity up during lockdown.
I agree with you, but it would have been a lot better if he had showed up without the dirt 3:39 under his fingernails.

This is the most real, still gourmet style of cooking I’ve ever seen. This video is the gateway drug to inspire great chefs. Love this channel!
I didn't expect the portal music.
I noticed it and was about to comment too! I love it!
I knew it sounded familiar!
Caught me off guard as well! Little nostalgia flare up in the brain
Well, this was a triumph. Note: huge success.
Same. Not unappreciated though.

You guys have great energy together. It was fun to watch 😃
Loving the extra editing. You’ve really found the perfect balance!
I opened UA-cam to watch something else but Brad gets top billing in my theater.
Still Alive is the perfect background song for Brad.

Brad is medicinal at this point
You guys used the still alive horn version for the music and I was looking to see if it was playing through another tab lol.
"The best fast meal"
Ah, the classic cooking show definition of fast that results in an hour and a half of prep and cleanup.
