    Such simple advice, but it's very good. These are the things I don't know when I can't see my own form, lol. I really appreciate you sharing this video!

    For more of advanced stage, i would recommend more of a loop backswing, the loop doesnt have to be big but somewhat of a "C" loop backswing. The racket should not consistently be taken straight back without any loop or arch.

    Supreme, I tend to disagree with your assessment that taking your racquet back early diminishes the ability to track a ball better. With your racquet back in a "cocked" and ready to swing position will help you triangulate the position of the ball better. Triangulation coming from your eye, racquet back, and racquet contact will help give your feet the added information they need to put you into position better. Not to mention it also helps to have your racquet back and ready on balls with pace.

    basically the racket needs to be moving forward towards the ball as the ball is moving towards the player after the bounce. if the racket is moving back after the bounce then the player has less time to go forward.

    • @swalterstennis
      @swalterstennis 5 років тому

      I agree. By the time the ball hits the ground, it’s time to start swinging forward.

      @@swalterstennis already too late to wait until then.
      The time to begin the preparation, and decide which side to hit from and to where the ball will be hit to, is from when the ball comes off the racquet/racket strings of the opponent.

    These scavengers go all over the world recruiting talent to their academy and convince people they did all the ground work. Red Aymes is a good coach there, Pat Dougherty and some guys you never heard of. To catch a predator right there.

    i believe that one should take the racket back in advanced stage but it should not pause there. it should not come to a complete pause. THE BACKSWING SHOULD FLOW INTO THE FORWARD SWING KIND OF LIKE ONE MOTION, YOU DONT WANT TO SEPARATE MOTIONS.

    • @swalterstennis
      @swalterstennis 5 років тому

      I totally agree. Don’t come to a complete stop on the backswing. Your Lose momentum. Flow through it.

    Also, I know Chip Brooks didnt say "take your racket back right away" all the time under every situation, but doesnt it sound like he is "implying" that you must take your racket back right away because he said there is more power. I agree that there is more power and taking the ball earlier can be an advantage. But you must also realize that taking back racket right away all the time will cause you to miss alot of balls cuz you ability to "track" the ball is diminished at times and in situation

    20-25% faster ball speed lol. This girl is just plain phenomenal and don't try to take credit because she "in line".. I don't get why some instructors focus on having players get low (squatting down) when they hit. As you play more and more you will adjust to each shot without thinking about it and this will also tire you out a lot faster if your thighs are bent for each shot.. It is a bigger part of women's tennis ex: Radwanska but not something you should focus on

  • @andrewcooper1219
    @andrewcooper1219 13 років тому

    ok, i understand the "necessity" and "many situations" where a player must take back their racket right away (with body), but is it really necessary to make such a long speech about taking your racket back. I agree with Chip Brooks, but all im saying, my point is does he need to "repeat" himself over and over again. OK im not going to say whether taking your back right away is always right under every situation but instead of giving long lecture, why wont a simple "take your racket back fast do"

    Melissa's BH problem that she is not putting racquet head streight back and left it on left side with little angle forward. Recovery step or some other bullshit which that old "coach" tried to explain to her will not help her to fix that problem, but he even didn't see that problem. Sadly to see that "level" of coaching on youtube.

      @ Evgeny Dorokhov ; Your comments and statements reveal Your level, knowledge, ignorance, misconception, mis-perception, lack of expertise. <
      These people at IMG are among the highest level teachers, instructors, coaches Nick has surrounded and expanded with there.
      They just also put some of their instruction videos on UA-cam. Am not certain exactly of their reason and purpose, but for to me, it clearly identifies proper techniques, methods and exposes the multitude of false information You refer too of the many videos on UA-cam and those who also offer on-line and personal courses.
      My basis is nearly 50 years of playing, and getting proper, solid basics and fundamentals in tennis from my best friend who was trained by the infamous 'Dr.' Alex Mayer, which are bio-mechanically sound, efficient and effective. Also, have many other sports and athletics which are developed within me, especially with and requiring significant and similar balance.
      The common issues so prevalent today among tennis players of all levels from beginners to intermediate to advanced to professional and including recreational, novice and club players, can often be attributed to the prevalence of light, stiff, powerful, hollow frames the manufactures have been making and 'pushing' over the last 25, nearly 30 years, with no real changes or improvement in the their equipment, rather continue to be horrible, horrific, harmful, injurious [See Class Action Suit and results]
      As a result of the basis of my knowledge and experience, it becomes easily obvious which persons and people have correct, proper information, methods, techniques, teaching, instruction. These folks have some of the best.
      Recently found Tomaz of Feel Tennis who has excellent videos, and for many they need his fundamentals prior to these. Here We see the coach working with players who already have significant experience, but need refinements. Most do not have the proper basics and fundamentals, which my friend [mentioned] was able to teach me rather easily with my background [i was lacking any formal tennis training previously].
      Now the proper videos allow me to build and modify my strokes, techniques to improve and modify including some of my fundamentals and strengthen them too.
      Hope You are able to find what You need, and enjoy playing tennis, and continue to improve.
      Sincerely,
      :-)

      Chip Brooks is one of the top academy coaches in the world for 30 years but I disagree with a few things he says.

  • @goggleboy2464
    @goggleboy2464 6 років тому

    Basically taking all the style out of their game. Nonsense. No bene! You have far better balance when running if your racket is in the center of your body exactly the opposite of what he is saying. The best players in the world don't do this.

    • @swalterstennis
      @swalterstennis 5 років тому

      Ya, I totally agree. That didn’t make sense. Chip Brooks said you can run faster with the racket back. Am I clueless or is that incorrect?

    • @swalterstennis
      @swalterstennis 5 років тому

      Also, the last girl is using a closed stance on every backhand. She’s late getting to the ball and hits closed. Then he says the recovery step adds power. Huh?! The recovery step is after contact. How can something after contact add power?

  • @TNToncourt
