Yay it’s Jess!!! Got our 26 chicks in Feb. They were perfect and we were so impressed when they arrived! Such a fun experience. Looking forward to getting more someday.. that good ol chicken math. 😁
Funny what you said about Polish chickens being “high strung” … our very first order from you our ‘mystery chick’ was a polling cockerel and that scrawny little thing LIVED to aggravate all the bigger roosters! They Hated him with a passion, but they got very few licks on him, because he was So Fast! LOL! When we finally took him to freezer camp his “hairdoo” was starting to show some “wear and tear” to be honest! 🤪
I love brahmas. Sooo all my querstios would be like are different breeds seasonal or are all breeds hatched more or less at the same time. .after brahamas cochins are my go for chicks...
Hey Jess, I would love to have a small flock of a variety of chickens. But I live on a city lot, and am limited to a dozen or less, and no roosters. With McMurray’s six chick minimum, it’s not possible to have a nice colorful basket of eggs. Are there any hatcheries that sell a variety of 6-12 chicks? Between you and Tom, you’ve sold me on the “need” for a Maran, Americauna, Cochin, Orpington, Wyandottes, Speckled Sussex, and a Whiting Green or Blue. (Haha...I can't come up with a top five either.)
Hi Mary, maybe I need to clarify. Our 6 chick minimum is the entire order. You can select just one of any breed - ie. select one each of 6 breeds to meet the 6 minimum. Hope that helps!!
Help! All our chicks were fine on arrival but today 1 chick was laying there looked like its chirping but no sound coming out. Can barely walk. Separated it from the rest of the chicks and trying to get it to eat and drink. Any idea what could be wrong? Have you seen this before?
Love you, Jess. 😁👍🏼❤️ I will say, we’ve ordered well over 100 chicks from Murray McMurray on the recommendation of Paul Gautschi. We’ve been thoroughly disappointed with the quality of their hens. Our Buff Orpingtons are tiny and lay a generic brown medium egg. Half of our Barred Rocks are full and lustrous. The other half are pip-squeaks, tiny. Our Rhode Island Reds have GREAT personalities, as do all of our chickens, but once again, are tiny. We don’t eat our chickens as we are a No-Kill farm so their size isn’t that important to us. But...we ordered Frizzle Cochin bantams for our daughters. 50% of them were FRAZZLES, which means they breed Frizzles to Frizzles which is a BIG NO-NO!!! Three of our four Frazzles died within the first year. So sad. Some of Ameraucanas we got lay light brown eggs. Some of them don’t even lay eggs more than once a week! We also ordered Cuckoo Marans, all of which died in shipping or that night after taking THREE DAYS to arrive to Missouri from Iowa. 🙄 I will say, our two Blue Laced Red Wyandotte roosters are GORGEOUS! They’re so handsome, HUGE, and just amazingly loving. Thumbs up for two roosters. Murray McMurray is clearly not what it used to be and that’s saddening. 😕
Hi, for our Canadian customers we ship baby chicks to your choice of a US Post Office location on our side of the border. You would need to come across, pick up your birds, and then transport them back into Canada. When you order you'll also need to request the paperwork needed for the birds.
@@McMurrayHatchery We have never been disappointed with any of your birds. You can see the love and commitment in your raising of these precious children 💜 Good care and love is most important. 💖
