  • This is a REAL preview of the new Mastering the Twister DVD by Eddie Bravo. Uploading this for some forum buddies, cuz the 6DigitsProductions version is all flashy shit and doesnt represent the content well. This is the actual first 5 minutes of the dvd. enjoy.

    Eddie is an amazing coach. He makes it very clear how to execute the transitions, submissions, and how to hold positions. He rocks and the jiu-jitsu world is better with him in it.

    Did anyone ever realize that Eddie Bravo idolized the great Martial Artist the late great Bruce Lee. Now Bruce Lee was tired of the traditional Chinese Gung Fu, said it was too classical, and didn’t really work for self defense purposes. So Bruce Lee developed his own system and style called Jeet Kune Do. Master Eddie Bravo, saw flaws in traditional BJJ, and he created his own Jiu Jitsu style known as 10th Planet Jiu Jitsu. Eddie is truly a Master of Jiu Jitsu, and all of us in the Jiu Jitsu community owe him a true debt of gratitude. Thank you Eddie, keep up the awesome work. Looking forward to see what’s next. With respect! Thank You again!!

    I really don't know why but I find this technique very easy to apply from side control rather than back mount control again I don't know why I am really flexible but when I set up the technique from the back I usually end up getting caught and it's kinda hard to maintain that leg trapped for so long because it's not fully trapped...Any ideas how to improve it ?

      It would work if your aiming to do one of the leg submissions amd maybe breake their ankle, tear their calf muscle, break their neck etc. However that position doesnt seem to be the best position for punching your opponent also, when trying to do the twister and you put that arm near your head many street fighters may headlock you, i personally have come across this during bjj sparing so look out for that. But to summarise it all; unless your going for a submission their are better positions for a street fight.

      use rubber guard in a street fight

    • @davibourne3856
      @davibourne3856 5 років тому +2

      Bro these positions will drive you into submissions that will cause serious body harm. I don't the laws about where you live you could be charged fot body harm even acting in self defense. I've seen people giving up on their altercation after a négociation in a video, the grapler said: "If you want to go forward, I will finish the leg lock and you won't be able to play basket again" and the assailant was defused. I'd rather focus on chokes or get on top and wear him off unti he gives up. I might wanna get into law enforcement or be a teacher and you criminal background will be checked, there might be another assailant and kick you on ground. The best self-defense is your mind set, avoid hanging out with dummy people in wrong place and time being aware about the environment you are in. Don't use any guard unless you are taken down, chose always being on top. Outside world is not a smooth, shinning clean mat, it's a solid surface that depending on how you hit, you might pass out righy way. Physical altercation are chaotic, avoid it at all cost.

      +John Law I used to think that too, but if you start at the beginning and watch them in sequence and think about what they are doing or resemble outside of bjj, they make sense. Banana Split is stretching their legs apart, Vaporizer vaporizes the ligaments in their knee, Twister twists their spine, etc.
