Narcis, Thankyou so much, I have looked at forums that say take out the glass first but this solved this issue. It was a brilliant video. I fitted mine in about 30 minutes taking it very slowly and carefully. You are a top man.
Thank you, buddy! Simple and useful manual on how to change the lamp. I want to append a little bit about this lamp is named as w5w. I will change it soon.
@@NarcisDitiu Oka. I want to share some details. I have replaced it on my Skoda. But I found a few changes. You have described how to change it on the prior restyle model 2004-2008 manufactured. I have post restyle car 2008-2012 year and the suitable part number is 3T0949101 for my case.

Great video - thanks so much for posting. The only thing I'd add is some more detail on how to unclip the cover. The front of the top half needs to be pushed inwards (i.e. towards the mirror to unclip it. I used some plastic bicycle tyre levers to lever into the gap and then lift the lever to push the top half of the cover inwards and then gradually work the cover off.
You're welcome! Thank you very much for your feedback! If you like this tutorial, you can help me by subscribing to my channel and like the video, please.
just fyi, for the face lifted model (LEDs) you need to take out the mirror glass and remove the torx screws holding the case plastic on. Use the adjuster to move mirror all the way down, and pull glass out from the top- pretty straightforward from there!
Thanks for this video. Ill have to changes mirror blinker, but biggest issue is i have coming/leaveing light also. 95% of replace parts is without that light.
You're welcome! I also thank you for the feedback! If you like this tutorial, you can help me by subscribing to my channel and like the video, please. That bulb is part of the entire build. I bought it completely in one piece.
There should be 2 or 3 screws holding the silver mirror housing to the internal black mirror construction, but they are gone in your case. If someone follows your instruction, the mirror will be very likely damaged. Disassembly should be done by removing the glass first and then unscrew internal parts.
This was the original mirror on a new car bought directly from the Skoda dealer. So it is the original setup. This means that a lot of cars have the same mirror with the same configuration. I understand from you that may be other models that can have some screws, but I did not encountered another configuration. Nevertheless, this video helps and can be used for all those cars that came in the same configuration as the one from this video.
This is really useful, thank you so much. The only issue is I am trying to replace my Puddle Lamp (Light that turns on when you unlock the door and shines on the floor) can you provide any information on this?
You're welcome! Regarding your question, I didn't need to replace it, so all I can advise is to read the car's manual and maybe you can find some information there. If you like the video, don't forget to subscribe and like the video, please.
Hi dude, my car is an o5 octavia, the light isn't working on the passenger side, can i just replace the bulb? or do i have to replace the whole light housing, as they're like 40 euros!!! Thanks for the amazing video brother
Hi Tony! There are two issues here: I don't think that the light housing can be opened and even if you open it, then you must find an bulb of that type if it is on sale such type.
This doesn't work on the Octavia Mk2 facelift. There are a couple of screws holding the housing so remove the mirror. It's very easy there. There's a British person explaining it on here, that'll help too.
hi thanks for the video i bought the light cover but it doesnt have the hose for the small light only has a sucket - plug, that it. what if i take off the small light and just install it whithout the small light?
@Narcis Ditiu i need your help. from where i can buy this item because in ebay i find but the are not with the welcome light what open when you unlock the car. my car is skoda octavia 1z5 2006. thank youu
Hi, I didn't ordered this online, but this was about 8 years ago. Now surely you can find it online, but you can also buy it from the official Skoda representative, or any car parts store.
your tutorial is not really full, plastic cover of mirror is screwed to base (i dont know why your isnt), so you need to take mirror out, then take motor out so you can reach 2 screws that holds cover
Thanks! As you said, in my case was a little bit different than yours, so I did not know that there can be different situations for the same Octavia 2 model. Or maybe you are talking about a different car model. I can say that this was the first time I opened the mirror as the car was brand new so this is the original state of the components.
@@NarcisDitiu Hmmm, thats weird, but according to comments youre not only one without screws... On 1:09 where you showing the cover, u can see two holes where screws supposed to be. I got octavia 2 2008 before facelift.
