I went to a thrift store the other day and bought sheets to make things out of. I'm not a costumer so it doesn't necessarily need to be accurate but I am trying to get fabric on a budget and I got some nice sheets that were like a mixed between a golden or a burnt orange colour (I haven't decided what to call that colour). I also got a cute white floral print sheet that is not see-through as far as I can tell. I will likely make some 18th century petticoat style skirts, but just for me to enjoy. I think it's great that you are letting people know that this is a budget-friendly option! It also happens to be better for the environment than buying brand new fabric every time

Heck yes! Good score! I love using sheets! I have a 100% linen sheet in my stash I’ve hoarded for just the right thing and I’m probably finally using it this year. I’ve also made dresses from cotton pique sheets, and I’ve made a ton of petticoats out of plain white! Sheets are just so much heartier than most craft store cottons. It grosses some people out to use sheets but it doesn’t bother me at all. Hot water and soap and we’re good :)
      Love your skirt ideas!

@@wearinghistory I like it because it is cost effective and more sustainable then buying new everytime. Oh I am excited for you!! I'm getting some hand me down never used fabric from my cousin soon so that's will be an interesting suprise! Oh nice! I'd love to make a pair of pants out of a sheet! Yes I'm sure it's not for everyone, but I agree that if they are gently used (not too worn) and washed in warm soapy water I am fine with it.
