During the final war arc in My Hero Academia, the Heroes have a pretty sound plan to defeat Shigaraki, however something they couldn’t have planned for happens to the villain. Whether it’s because Shigaraki’s body was removed early from the tube in Season 6, or because of the chaos going on inside of his body between the Original Shigaraki personality and the All for One quirk trying to overwrite it, Shigaraki’s body has become extremely unstable. In the villain hideout while Spinner and All for One are having a meeting with the others, Spinner hears Shigaraki scream from the back of the cave, and when he goes to see his friend all he sees is a giant, horror movie assortment of wriggling fingers crawling towards him along the cave walls. During the final battle we see Shigaraki reaching a point where he can control this new power, saying this is what happens when a quirk goes beyond the Quirk Singularity, and becomes something entirely new, and as he fights, the his ability adapts and adapts causing CHAOS at U.A because it can’t be turned off by Aizawa.

Once a Quirk goes beyond the Quirk Singularity, it basically allows the user to just make powers. Deku probably might be able to do that. Ochako once said that Deku sounds like Dekiru, a man that can do anything. and Deku can do anything with his quirks like supports.

I think Aizawa theorized that the finger growth is not even a quirk but Shigaraki's body, adapting itself to become able to hold AFO and that's why he cant erase it.
In the flashback of the fight between Nana and AFO, the area was filled with fingers, feet, and mouths not coming from his body. Perhaps that's the perfect final body Shigaraki will have
Well remember AFO is just a copy of his consciousness in shigaraki with his resolve to beat AFO taking him over. Also decay may be too powerful to be added with all the extra quirks he has now. AFO has his power to take and copy abilities but not a powerful 1 of his own taking up data. The brain only can keep so many quirks like memory filling up. Lastly remember Stars and stripes made shigaraki/AFO lose many quirks he had collected destroying them . He may have lost quirks that helped with his physical or mental health. Also made other vestiges fight back causing massive mental problems I assume . Shigaraki doesn't use his array of powers like AFO who knows what each does, including weaknesses &how to blend making new quirk abilities

In all fairness, something like this happening has been foreshadowed for a while. Toga's ability to suppress her presence, and Stain paralyzing the heroes in a radius around him without any blood, weren't part of their quirks.

Going along with my personal theory on how quirks and “mega genes” work, I’d say since his quirk reached past singularity, the “meta genes” in his body mutated in such a way that, after he learns how, allows him to have full control over how those genes affect his body.
Yeah his not quirk (but still basically works like a quirk). Hori had to give him something other then his near all might level strength while aizawa turns off his quirks lmao.
It's explained that it's the Quirk Singularity, where overtime quirks will become too powerful to the point that the body won't keep up. Shigaraki's body is evolving to try and keep up with his quirk, Decay, which has became very powerful, and I think All for One's quirk is also contributing.
@@tsnoob4669 yeah but thats thr thing, bodies just *dont* quickly regenerate and create multiple pounds of flesh out of nothing. Thats *very* explicitly in the realms of quirks, not just the normal body, so it should have been turned off by aizawa's quirk, *especially* when uts something he can control.
This "ability" kinda breaks the whole well crafted system hori made. Like, quirk singularity would most of the time kill their users (or everyone around them, or just cause mass chaos)sure, maybe some could survive and adapt, but even past the singularity they are still quirks, just batshit insane ones.

The manga implied that these waves of fingers were simply Shigaraki's body itself adapting to his Quirks. As in, now that he's past Singularity, his body itself is like a new Quirk that shapeshifts to meet its user's needs and desires.
I'm really hoping Izuku gets some sort of power-up like this before the end. Maybe smth like what we saw in the Heroes Rising movie? At one point, he pretty much seemed to transform into a figure made of energy and lightning.

I have a personal theory about this. I believe that this quirk evolution is were emitter quirks have become more like a mutation. Say your quirk is fire breathing, but it's a mutation were your body generated organs that allow you to breath fire. With a quirk like this it can't be erased. Shigiraki has obtained an emitter quirk that at a fundamental level is a mutation quirk.
