How do you suppose a filter is "animated" like this? MIDI triggering a Waldorf, maybe? Edit 2 years later, I figured it out. It's most likely the Guyatone Flip FB-X pedal (Thomas is on video using it live), or a pedal like it. It's using a resonant high pass filter on an envelope, triggered by the volume of the sound going into it. I built an emulation in FL Studio using Fruity Peak Controller and FilterFreak1, and it sounds the same.
Mutronics Mutator with the midi expansion, not sure...? It was around at the time, and sounds amazing. Thomas Bangalter is such a legend, and Guy-Man. Daft Punk Forever.
@@bassboomboing Could be, since that's a piece of gear they use. BUT if you listen close to the opening in Around The World, it's the same whippy sounding resonant filter envelope being triggered, while also slowly opening more (just with much much less resonance than Colossus). They list the Waldorf, but I can't find any videos demoing it :(
the remix is an excerpt of a live performance Thomas did at WE, in chicago, 1999. this here though is a remaster of the remix, done by me. the channel used to be called DJ ToKyO but now its One World Community

@@SiliconPrairie which bit has the whippy filter? the mix or a certain part?
yeh listened to a few times, and that whippy filter is tight, sounds so good.

Ah vraiment.
So I’m confused. Was this made by Thomas Bangalter or DJ Tokyo?

Oh ok, thank you for the clarification. Do you know where I can find the original as well?
@@RESIST_DIGITAL_ID_UK ah just search up the same name as this video but without "[REMASTERED]", you should be able to find it
@@RESIST_DIGITAL_ID_UKYou are not very smart buddy 😅😅

What does this even remotely have to do with being smart? So being smart to you is somehow knowing who made this song?
