Whooo! The singer does a very nice job of conveying emotion in his voice; it's not just the words he sings, it's the nuances of the notes and the way that he sings. It has a very dramatic feel to it. I do like how his voice drops there at the 3:05 mark. 4:12 "Why am I their shattered king?" I like those lyrics. His voice reminds me of Geoff Tate from Queensryche as he is singing "shattered king," although his voice sounds markedly different (deeper) than Geoff's in other areas. For just those two words, though, the tone and inflection reminds me quite a bit of Geoff Tate and Queensryche. 5:12 - 5:55: Your point here is very valid and well articulated. 12:48: Hahaha, I did NOT expect to hear "What Is Love" by Haddaway in an iced Earth reaction video! This song is good but could be great with just a bit of extra layers, and I would personally love to hear the addition of female vocals by yourself, harmonizing with the male vocals. I think that could really make it exceptional. I guess each viewer of your reaction videos will have their own opinion and they each have the right to their opinion, but my opinion is that oftentimes your singing adds to the song, and I know you use it to measure the difficulty of the vocals, so I personally find it very unique and interesting.😀

This is great Iced Earth song! Matt Barlow the vocalist if one of the best how he can put so much emotion into his singing. Since you like this song you should check out either "If I could See you" or "Raven Wing", they have more complex lyrics than Melancholy. Just listen to them even if you do not react to them I think you will enjoy them! They have similar feeling both are great songs! They also have the different vocalist Stu Block, who I feel is on the same level as Matt Barlow. Iced Earth is a very good band, they have these slower songs, yet the heavier and faster songs are really good too.
