Hey Tino! Good to see you doing well! Cool that you brought this subject up! There actually was a show back here in the US (originally from Japan and broadcasted elsewhere too) that you may have heard of before called "Samurai Champloo". Now, this show aired back in 2004 on Cartoon Network (and still runs re-runs from time to time). Anyways, without spoiling too much, there is a central, subtle theme throughout the show about Christianity in Japan at the time and it's suprising to think about sometimes in the fact that most TV networks around in the US (and I imagine Japan as well) are quite secular and never mention anything about religion, but this show does an awesome job of dropping hints along the way. I'm sure if you know much more about the history of Christianity in Japan, you almost certainly know exactly which city they're trying to get to! They touch upon things such as the fumi-e, hidden symbolism, European influence, and I imagine some other references that I may not have picked up on but someone with your background knowledge of Japan would be able to discerne and appreciate. Here's the scene that picks up on it: ua-cam.com/video/4mkG8efsUHo/v-deo.html&ab_channel=FID00437 It's a young adult sort of show, I was a senior in high school when I saw it (so about Roman's age). The same director of this show also wrote "Cowboy Bebop", which I believe to be his greatest work. Anyway, check that show out! It's not too long of a series to watch through. Peace and love, Tino.
I found Seicho no ie Gardena California The church is based in Japan, we have English service. I love my members and found my new found spirtual group. We believe in God, we all children of God. I learned to honor my ancestor and itadakatamsu and gratitude. I love my spiritual family.. Downey California.
Thank you Tino. Great Video. The new Series "Shogun" I don't know if you've seen it. The whole show is about Chrisianity in the old days. Video Sugestion: Make a video about this series. It's on Hulu. Thank you
I’ve seen it, but although it’s based on historical events… it plays too much like a Hollywood movie😊 Just glad they had all Japanese actors. Some parts were a bit hard to believe
Yeah there is a huge difference between a Lukewarm Christian and born again. I have heard Christianity is growing in Japan. I hope they realize it's just a relationship with Jesus Christ. Anyways stay strong brother I have been here for over 10 years great to hear you talking about this now.
