East African Tour Pt 5: Msoloni: Rural Kenyan Experience

In October 2019 I toured East Africa by road and rail. My 5th stop was a village called Msoloni because I wanted to experience rural Kenya. I also wanted to depict people who live in rural areas of Africa as people with names, faces, aspirations and drive just like anybody else in the world. I wanted to move away from the one-sided narrative of Africa only being a place of poverty and down-troddeness. I wanted to celebrate African people and the continent as a whole.
I stayed with the Chapa family, who belong to the Giriama tribe of Kenya, for just over a week. I forged new friendships and I learned so much. The Universe really had my back! 🇰🇪
