Kevin, I just met you and Jim at Moparty. Enjoyed meeting you both quite a bit and you talked about the release of this video with Indy and Ken. I talked about how it seemed like Ken was a little off putting etc. and you stated he gets a little tired of the same old purple cam rhetoric and that really put it in perspective for me. So watching this video is very informative and puts Ken in a better light. Thanks for the effort!
Absolutely! Yes, I think Ken is like so many guys whose interests have taken him so far into a field that few of us can talk to him at an equal level (or one that’s engaging). Even many of my questions to him in this video feel sophomoric.
Great Video guys!!... I've bought a 572 street legend from them before Russ Passed. The thing was a monster ..791HP and 712 torque... Just have a couple of commends...Rotating the crank while priming the oils pump makes sure all the passageways are full of oil. And don't forget that intake bolt on the passenger side second from the back needs tightened... I'm sure Ken caught it before the Dyno test. 😉 ....Sorry I was a Telecom equipment installation auditor (disliked more than a car salesman).
Indy has done alot, but there prices are a little to radical on most stuff unfortunately. Cool that you got to see this and video this for us. I would not want to build engines everyday that is no easy job
Need more static compression a bit more camshaft, would still fun pump gas, also balance out air fuel ratio between all 8 cylinders, some carb work, should make at least 950 hp.
Yes that combo, 572 with 500cfm easy 950hp pump gas these days. Aluminum engine can tolerate with correct cam timing 12 to 1. Dyno to equalize all cylinders using afr in each pipe.
Does Indy design and make a Hemi block with a shallower combustion chamber with say a 36 degree or 40 degree chamber head instead of the standard 58.5 degree head with a 4.500 bore ???
They sell two aluminum blocks and several cylinder heads of different designs. I don’t know the specific valve angles; you’ll need to call them directly.
@@moparconnection maybe. i am interested in something NA closer to 700 hp. Had camshaft/valvetrain/long headers, high flow cats/cold air intake done last year. But that was done in Wilmington, NC. Too much wasted money in transport. Need something closer to Indy.
Yes it was sold in 2021 to Chris and Charli Wheatcraft. Thankfully, they’ve preserved Indy’s diehard commitment to top tier performance parts and engines.
@@moparconnection I've met Kenny years ago when he worked for McCandless and he's wrong about power valves having anything to do with clean idle. You should study up on basic engine tuning a little before making technical automotive videos....and your full of it with the 4000 engines and definitely full of it with the "several hundred championships" comment. (not sure he ever had any championship winning engines come to think of it)
Excellent video, sheds new light on Kens knowledge and personality.
Glad you enjoyed it!

Kenny is a legend! One of the smartest guys in the industry. Paired with the Wheatcraft Family.......they're going to be huge!
Yeah he’s a wealth of knowledge
Finally MOPARs making MOPAR👍💯
Right?
Thanks for the tour! That X Block is impressive for sure.
It really is!
The knowledge this man has is amazing! I could watch and listen to this all day!,! Thanks for this video!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Man I'm so glad you did this and thanks for sharing you knowledge Ken!
Glad you liked it!
Great build and video ,Kenny ! ..

Right on!

You can see how building 4,000+ engines has bent Ken’s posture over.
@@moparconnection yup I did notice that but he’s not the shortest guy around either. Loving the content. I got a modified real m code a12 roadrunner.
Fantastic video. Love it, well done
Glad you liked it!
Ken has the best job!
Amen!
2circuit dominator thats the secret to running a dominator on the street if you have a 3circuit no go easy to switch them over
Bingo
that was one of the best engine videos . ken knows his stuff for sure .
I have literally hours of Ken giving engine building tips. I might make another video of just that!
Thanks.. Good, all-fit look right fit... Like-it
Appreciate that!
Very good video Thanks
Glad you liked it!

Pretty sure Ken has this combo dialed.

So the Hemi with it's big ports likes huge displacement to keep that intake velocity going.
Exactly!
What does the exhaust gasket have to do with the intake?
That’s an intake gasket
Hey Kevin, more cheers from Canada, you fucking rock.
Dang! Thanks man!
This will fit in my 72 Charger perfectly
Yes it will!
This guy really knows how to build an engine!
He’s one of the best!

Well, how about a Late Model Dirt track racer engine, will this Hemi work there ??
LOL doubtful
《HEMI》
And a BIG ONE to boot!
Who could do this engine/transmission install in the Indianapolis, IN. area? I have a 2015 Challenger with a 392 now.
You want to put a 572 Hemi in a modern Challenger?!

wicked pissah !
🤣
How much is that exact engine just to give us an idea what 865 horsepower aluminum Hemi costs?
Over $50k
We did our hot rods in the 70s we have no such things as what we have today
What do you mean?
@@moparconnection all the new Alloys and Technology
I thought the company was sold?
Why do you think it’s in Ohio?
Yes it was sold in 2021 to Chris and Charli Wheatcraft. Thankfully, they’ve preserved Indy’s diehard commitment to top tier performance parts and engines.
Carb power valves have nothing to do with a clean idle.
We're pretty sure Kenny's experience in building 4,000 engines (including several hundred championship winning engines) speaks for itself.

Why do hemis refuse to tolerate nitrous oxid
They love NO2
Someone told me bottles were for babies!! Lol Just kidding... I'd rather be blown!
@@moparconnection No they don't "love NO2". Many have tried.....once.
I think an engine like that is somewhere between $35K-$40K?
Oh add another $10-15k to that.
And that's inexpensive
@moparconnection probably worth it though
Jesus
All customs parts,,, hard job, expensive
Yeah, this was a very custom build!
I still dont understand how to fit this in a Dodge Omni without an upgraded subframe.
🤣😂
