Religion of Ancient Sumerians : Ancient Sumerian Civilization and their Religion

Sumerian religion was polytheistic, with a pantheon of gods and goddesses who were believed to control various aspects of life.
Among the most prominent deities were Anu (god of the sky), Enlil (god of the wind and storms), and Inanna (goddess of love and war).
Temples, called ziggurats, were erected to honor these gods and served as centers of worship and administration.
Before the beginning of kingship in Sumer, the city-states were effectively ruled by theocratic priests and religious officials.
Later, this role was supplanted by kings, but priests continued to exert great influence on Sumerian society.
In early times, Sumerian temples were simple, one-room structures, sometimes built on elevated platforms.
Towards the end of Sumerian civilization, these temples developed into ziggurats-tall, pyramidal structures with sanctuaries at the tops.

सिंधु घाटी सभ्यता दुनियां की सबसे पुरानी सभ्यता है, जो की आज से लगभग 9 से 10 हजार साल पुरानी है, और जो लोग बोलते हैं की सिंधु सभ्यता 4 हजार साल पुरानी है, ये बात सच नहीं है, असल में सिंधु घाटी सभ्यता का आज से 4 हजार साल पहले इसका अंत हुआ था, लेकिन इस सभ्यता की सुरूआत आज से 9 से 10 हजार साल पहले हुई थी, इस सभ्यता का time period लगभग 5 से 6 हजार साल था
