Saying “black people have magic powers, but only in service of white folks, and if they ever rebel they will lose their magic” is something I thought I’d hear screamed at a KkK rally, not in a “progressive” movie by Hollywood
@@ZachAttackReviews Wait what? If white people don't back this black owned idea, they would be called racist. If white people speak up against this idea, they would be called racist. If you were a white studio exec, what would you do? Be honest!

The idea of black people, whom are wizards essentially, going around making the lives of white folks easier and less stressful just sounds like a weird fetish brought onto the big screen, that was made by someone who is completely out of touch with the black community and the black experience in America. I could only kinda see it working if the point of the movie is that this magical society is a bad thing and that these black people are being subjugated but that doesn't seem to be the case
How come EVERY SINGLE movie, TV show, whatever piece of media, that is particularly about Black people, is about RACE or RACISM? Even the damn superhero movies (Black Panther, Luke Cage). Like damn, is that ALL there is to us? WTF I’ve never seen such a lack of Black representation in the media until now ugh
Unfortunately, that seems the only way to get black-led films off the ground. The UK is doing an excellent job of having movies and shows that don't center around that, but other than that, we have to be supporting characters to get non-race stories
I remember when I was growing up when all the most popular shows everyone watched were black sitcoms. These shows didn’t peddle race BS constantly as the driving force of the show, and they didn’t constantly play up and indulge in black stereotypes. They were just normal families that happened to be black and everyone loved the shows and race didn’t matter most of the time within the shows. Now when I see shows that are predominantly black it seems like all of them are either specifically race based or they are used to play up black stereotypes. I also don’t think this is an accident or something that every single black creator suddenly decided to start doing. I think it’s the only thing Hollywood expects from black people now because that is how the racist liberals in Hollywood actually see black people. They see them as the stereotypes that they portray in their films and shows so black creators not giving them that aren’t seen as “genuine” by these gross racist Hollywood executives.
