Lol, popping by itself is a style and locking by itself is a style. Theyre also quite different and you can mix a lot of styles together. The term pop lock is because a lot of poppers happen to lock too since theyre both funk styles.
Well... a few years ago in this case would be 7 years ago... Hong 10 quit Expression around the year 2002 or very close to it. A lot of the Drifterz were actually in Expression, but moved and went to the crew they're in now (Drifterz, as stated earlier)
Actually, BOTY has two categories of prizes. One is for the actual battles, which Expressions took here. But in this same event and year, the other category was for best routine, and for the routine part, Vagabonds won first place, with Expressions winning second, but first in the battle category.
man , thats bboy " MIN ", from expression on 2001- 2002, and in 2003 went to "Hells angels " that know they are Drifterz, and that bboy, doesnt break any more, hes last video i seen was in fss 2004 korea, and in boty 2004 final 2004 korea. You can see him at hell angel vs obo wang bboy unit korea 2003. :)
last 4 1 took out 2005 so they automatically get in 2 2006, and driters took out boty korea 2005, so they were at boty international for 2006. yah dig?
oh shoot. i got owned. thanks for the history lesson. i had no idea it was that way. i was getting tired of those people on TV doing an unauthentic popping can call it pop and locking
actualy thats woo sung. You can tell because of his dreads and his transition from flare to windmill, I haven't seen tachyon try any power moves. 1:33 is Tachyon, but he still has the besr footwork.
I seen it. Tacyon got to be considered as one of the best when it comes to footwork. Yea, you're right its him. I finally noticed it when I checked out an old scool battle Rivers vs. Expression. Tachyon has the same outfit and dreads, but you know its him when he does his signature variation spinning armchair. Who was 1:33 then? and where was woo sung? Did I miss something? Ah well,..... "Express Yo' self"
Wanna wats funny. After Hong 10 kill the beat. Lamine tried to do it too & his crew even tried to make sure he hit the beat, but it didn't happen haha.
no sick and wake up and eagle came in 2003 to replace Ty, Ducky, Rookie and Hong 10 when they went off and formed drifterz. But they werent part of expression in 03 and they werent in this battle.
it was always bothered me how hong10 can be so nice but couldnt top rock for his life. its getting better now but i just had to point that out. he still rocked it either way
Expressions Memebers in this battle: Ducky (Drifterz) Hong 10 (Drifterz) Min (No idea i dont think its the same min as last for one) Tachyon (Expression still) Woo Sung (Expression) Mute (Expression) Woo Chan (Soul Busters Crew) Ty (Drifterz) Rookie (Drifterz)
hahahahaha hong 10 at 11:55 to 12:08 By the way can someone post the name of the songs please or at least the one that start at 3:13 will really appreciate.
Hey bro, naw man, I'm not saying Korean bboys aren't talented, like I stated, I practiced with Korean bboys and I'm friends with some of them, and I'm full blooded Korean. I was replying to someone who said that Korean's invented the "nu skool" of bboying, as in, creating the blueprint for today's styles.
The flexible circus style also from the U.S., by LOZ and GZC guys back in the 90's. Name one thing Korea invented. There is nothing, but they took what the things that those U.S. crews I mentioned created, and perfected them. So that's dope no doubt, but as for creating the new foundation, they did not do that. Just for the record, I'm full blooded Korean born and raised in Hawaii,
In that sense, that is untrue, because the circus styles, elbow freezes, one hand hops, airtracks, all of those that Koreans do excellently, were created by other people, not the Koreans. Korea wins because they execute those moves well, but they didn't create those moves is all I was saying. Asians didn't create the cell phone either, but they took that invention, and reverse engineered it to be better.
These were some amazing times! Korea just came out of nowhere and stole the spotlight for years to come!
agreed! born is crazy, looks like he has been improving his style more and more and so is hong 10, i have GREAT respect for the Koreans

Lol, popping by itself is a style and locking by itself is a style. Theyre also quite different and you can mix a lot of styles together. The term pop lock is because a lot of poppers happen to lock too since theyre both funk styles.

Vincent, there is no way Vagabonds won that battle. If you asked me, it was pretty much a whooping by Expression. They killed Vagabonds.

bboying is so media focused in korea its actually kind of sad. that said there are some great korean bboys
In that sense, that is untrue, because the circus styles, elbow freezes, one hand hops, airtracks, all of those that Koreans do excellently, were created by other people, not the Koreans.
