I agree. I grew up living in the country after living first in the city. We nearly starved while living in the city and when we moved in with my grandparents and learned to garden in the country we ate much better and we grew up better and with more respect for the land. I love the gardening tools you all sell and the videos gives those who buy your gardening tools a good example of how to use them properly. Thanks for the videos.
I have been waching all of your videos. And I just wanted to take a moment to say thank you for taking the time to explain everything. From my family to yours we thank you.
How prophetic that last segment was, particularly the very last statement “In my opinion, the hobby farmer is definitely going to come back”. Look where we are right now in 2023. Since this country has taken such a downturn in these last three years, people have swarmed out of the cities like rats fleeing a sinking ship and into our small communities, buying up small tracts of land and setting up hobby farms. In 2020 and 2021 particularly, you couldn’t find a used tractor anywhere. And the trend is continuing.
You guys need a coulter on that plow to clean up that furrow wall. A plow with that short of a shank needs to be pulled more slowly, or plow at less depth. It looks a bit messy at high speeds.
lol, i know what you mean about the rough, and hard north carolina clay. i just got a plow for my sears suburban about 3 days ago, and i had to try it out. and the rain we got the day before made my tires slick so i had to go super slow, but it was fun.
I need to get one of those plows as it should work on my John Deere 790. So far I have a middle buster, a tiller for my tractor, and I could use the landscaping rake to clear out grass after plowing up the field. I have to get a disc next and the plow to get started. The Air Force didn't have any need for farming so I have not done any farming since I was in high school.
Hi Ted, thanks for your great videos! I find myself watching over and over! There is obviously a lot to learn about plowing. I'm repairing an old Dearborn plow that I'll be using to start a nice garden on my new property. I'd love to buy a bunch of attachments from you, if only just to repay for the informative how-to videos, but money being the way it is today we're all just trying to make due. Thanks!
lol i like when he said that the mule and the tractor had a war about who was the best and he look at the tractor and said the tractor won the war kml. good1
The general rule of thumb for plow depth is 1/2 the width of cut, so 12" plow needs to be 6" deep to do a good job. The beam should also be level side to side and front to back to do a good job.
you got me going.... I have a 1973 wheel horse automatic 18... can i pull a single plow like that on a compact tractor with out a 3 point hitch? thanks great series of breaking ground. Eddie Guise taters
im new to farming, so dont laugh, but why do you plow with the right tire in the furrow and not the left? b/c you are just covering up what you just plowed? is there a reason for that?
In 1947 when Japan surrendered for starting world war II and their terrorist attack on Pearl harbor, they made a vow that they would take over America in 100 years!!!

Yes, the disc harrow breaks up the clods left over after turning the dirt over, very similar to a tiller, but not as expensive.
Yes thank you for your help
Thanks for watching, sir!

so it does have to get tilled after plowing?
ive just purchased a ford new holland 1720 2wd its 20-30hp and weighs 3000lbs
im needing help on which implements would be best for it?
that a little plow for a big tractor it just runs off if it like it never was there!
how do you think the food on your table everynight is grown hu.
Liked the video, I'm wanting a single bottom plow to use with my F1100 surely with 8 forward gears, it'll pull a 12" plow.
We have a John Deere x475, What would be the best ripper, and tiller attachments to get for this, it is discontinued just F.Y.I
I cane dig it 😅😅😅😅Get it?
does this kubota have draft control?
Search for this exact video: Farmall CUB 2-Way Plow working (BJPD)

Would 3 bottom plow be to much on 37 hp diesel?
Thanks for watching. We wouldn't recommend over a 2 bottom, which could even be a load in certain soil conditions.
@EverythingAttachment ok, thanks. =)
If that is hard clay im Jimmy Hoffa!
after using the bottom plow, you use the disc next to finalize most of the soil prep for planting?

after plowing, how long do I have to wait before I till?
What plow would you recommend for a Ford 1910. 32 hp and weighs about 3k.
