The whole time when you said "Goku cant have his meals without rice" I was like: "Rice in japanese is gohan... so Goku cant have his meals without Gohan, his son. Aw how sweet of him".
Going through animes with the main characters having bottomless pits for stomachs, gonna have to do Toriko next. Toriko's lifetime Full-course Menu is a culinary challenge in of itself.
My first anime was Sailor Moon, then I just kept watching whatever show was on the TV, most actually anime, though not all as big and well-known as DB/DBZ/DBS, One Piece. I remember loving coming home to watch Mila Superstar, Kickers and Captain Tsubasa. Seeing you cook the food from DBS made me hungry and you make it look so easy too.
The first anime I ever watched was the Dragon Ball Z movie about Raditz arriving on Earth when I was 11, 5 years ago, now anime is basically everything to me
Not counting Pokemon first anime was Inuyasha. Fond memories of being at grandparents house and catching one of the middle episodes but not knowing the name of it but loving it. Found out the name later when my parents took me to a BlockBuster and I found a DVD where I recognized the characters. Went back watched the full series and was hooked from there.
For me my first ever anime I watched was dinosaur king, and since I was a kid I was oblivious to knowing that the show I was watching was an anime, and I didn’t know anime was a thing until my brother told me
Probably Sailor Moon? I think it was about the only non Disney/WB show that existed on the 2 channels that had any kids shows where I grew up...lol To be fair, Inu Yasha was the anime that got me hooked on the genre though
Sonic X, if you don't count that, a friend showed my hero academia, but the first anime I watched on my own was one piece (which I have finished and also rewatched 3 times)
I worked part-time at a takoyaki place when I was living in Japan and what we would put in them for customers who couldn't eat octopus was little pieces of hotdogs.
I'm an older anime fan, so my first was technically a VHS we got in a box of tapes at a garage sale, a production called 15 Boys. Basically, story is that 15 boys in a class were meant to sleep on a boat and then learn how sailors get up, take care of the ship, learn to sail, etc. Except, a freak storm blows in and unmoors the boat. They struggle to stay afloat and crash on an island. After taking stock and exploring, they find three skeletons of old men who ALSO shipwrecked, and start trying to both survive and prepare to signal for rescue. It's a nice little anime, very late 70s/early 80s.
Inuyasha followed by the first season of Pokemon. Then fell in love with DBZ and Naruto. Knew about One Piece, it was the first one I knew was anime (thought the others were just cartoons at the time) and decided Japan must be awful strange if shows like One Piece were their version of cartoons lol. Now I am well into adulthood and liked stranger shows like Toriko.
so jelly of Rachel able to eat all the foods, pokemon was starter for me as well at like 5am in the morning then got home for toonami which had DBZ ronin warriors ect
The anime that introduced me to the anime rabbit hole was Project A-ko. Saw it on the Sci-Fi Channel's late night Saturday anime block back in the 90s. I saw Project A-ko and was intrigued, the next week I saw Akira and was hooked for good.
This makes me hungry and crave for a bunch of different food lol. I've only eaten takoyaki twice (that's like, 2 pieces in all) and I wish I could eat some again but they're too expensive. The ice cream looks good and it's not noticeable that it's not regular ice cream. The bao looks delicious as well. I think the first anime I watched as far as I remember is Sailor Moon cause I remember being given this karaoke toy by a relative living in Japan and it had different tunes in it and I recognized Sailor Moon's and as cringy as it sounds, I tried singing it back when I was like, 4 or 5, and not knowing any Japanese plus my age, it was horribly butchered lol.
The first ever anime I ever saw was Lupin The 3rd. I would wake up around 3-4am back in the day to sneak downstairs and watch it on TV on the SciFi network when ever they had their Anime block.
Hey got the chance to talk to you this Saturday at rose City Comicon, thanks for taking the time to chat! This food looks super good we're gonna have to try making it.
The first anime that I remember fully is Ronin Warriors, but the actual first anime, pieced together with the help of r/anime, was actually Tekkaman Blade.
I am the guy who commented on the last video I still am living like Goku with a lot of working out and eating and I appreciate the new recipes in this video.
0:01 I have two first anime. The first one I ever actually watched was Transformers Armada, but at the time I was too young to know it was anime. First anime I watched knowing it was anime was The Irregular at Magic High School
my first anime would probably be YuYu Hakusho or Tenchi Muyo but i became more into anime because of a One Piece manga comic with Naruto and a manga that i cant remember the name that has a demon detective with a meddle school girl helping him solve murders. i really enjoyed this vid
I think I would replace the octopus with another protein. It wouldn't be traditional but I think it would work. Maybe some braised chicken, or another seafood like a good chunk of braised squid. Obviously you could use shrimp as well. Hell maybe a Vietnamese cha lua pork sausage would be good.
My first anime was either sailor moon or Pokémon; but the first anime that I knew was an anime that I watched was Shugo Chara. Also thank you very much for paying the cat tax!! If you had fed Gandalf off screen I would've been sad lol
The first anime I watched was dragon ball z and sailor moon. They came on back to back. I was 4-7 and living in Japan. I didn’t speak Japanese so the cell saga was the stuff of nightmares.
the first anime i ever watched,.. man that AGES ago around '87... you make me feel old..... oehm... i think it was "Saber Rider and the Star Sherrifs".... i didnt understand the english then... i wouldnt have understood the japanese... but it was just glorious,.. it was the reason to get up every sunday morning around 5am... but it was worth it
I watched two anime side by side, really. Well, ok. Technically I watched things like Pokemon and zoids first. But, that was on tv in the morning and I didnt actually pay much attention to them as a kid as I was mostly playing in front of the tv. The anime I watched where I was ACTUALLY paying attention were Spice and Wolf, El Cazador de la Bruja, and about halfway through both I watched Mouse.
Technically my first anime was the disastrous life of Saiky K but the only reason is that one of my cousins was watching it at their house when I was there, but the first anime I attentively watched was Dragon Ball Z oh and also Pokemon 😅😅
Sailor Moon and Dragonball aired super early in the morning where I lived. While getting ready for my classes, I'd have them on in the back round. I was shocked at the American censorship when I actually bought my first DVD.
I honestly can’t remember what the first anime I ever watched was, but I’m fairly certain it was either Pokémon digimon, or an anime film, called Nausicaa of the Valley of the wind
First anime? Hard to remember but Record of Lodoss War or Robot Carnival on Sac Anime or maybe Ronin Warriors and Sailor Moon when they came on at Zero Dark Thirty on TV. Cant remember which came first.
The first Anime i ever watched was the first yugioh. It always played episodes of it every morning in the weekends and my dad always watched it with me even though he was not a fan of it
DBZ was the 1st for me with one of the Gundam series being a close second. I remember walking home from school and throwing on Toonami to watch Goku beat Freiza's ass with my dad. I remember watching the very first super sayin transformation and the two of completely losing our goddamn minds at how badass it was.
my first anime was my hero academia. id seen really popular people like kirishima, todoroki, and denki. i asked my dad about it and he had seen it so i ended it up watching with him and my little sis.
my first anime was JoJo's Bizarre Adventure, it kinda dragged me into anime now on my list is: finished what is Demon Slayer for now, gonna watch what comes out later currently watching One Piece
Should try out Somei's Samurai Seafool bowl from the fight with Yukihira. Btw How's Hayama's Bear Meat thing going? Still having trouble finding that great bear meat?
my first anime was fairytail or the the promise neverland cuz my mom thought it was kid friendly it wasnt or well maybe it was if you count Ghibli then it was my neighbor totoro or howls moving castle or castle in the sky
the anime that made me realise what anime was. Tokyo Mew Mew. stuff i learned later on what actually anime... way to many to list but it included Pokemon, Yu-gi-oh, Heidi, Shinzo... do people remember Flint the Time Detective? honestly the early 2000's for the Netherlands they aired quite a lot of anime mixed in with cartoons spread over quite a few channels. but i was super young so sometimes i feel like i hallucinated some shows. and by young i mean like a 3 year old.
For me also pokemon (i was also forbidden to watch anime from my dad but that was total BS) but then when i turned 15 i rediscovert anime from my best friend. And the first anime we watcht was food wars. The first anime i watched on my own was blue exorsist. Also funny fact. Try putting pancake batter in that taco-yaki pan. In my country we call that "poffertjes"
