Actually, Mr Chinnaswamy was the ex BCCI president, ( 1977-80) ,he was a kannadiga and helped to bring govt grants to build this beautiful stadium which has a capacity of around 45000 seats . When it was built, the stadium's name was KSCA stadium, later, in memory of Mr Chinnaswamy, it was renamed after him .
