I've never been able to figure out how to *illustrate* in Illustrator until now. I've always tried to re-learn illustration by building shapes and whatnot. Thank you for finally posting a tutorial on the brush tools!
Great video! I also like to use the Variable Width tool to change the taper of strokes - eg, make them thicker in the middle or thinner towards the end. It's a useful tool to have in your arsenal.
Blue Ranger There’s a good video that goes into detail about the ‘Rubber hose’ style used in the Cuphead game. Never played it myself but it looks cool, especially knowing it was made using old school animation techniques

I got inspiration for the 1930s style mostly because after I watched the CupHead show I was like “WOW, The animation was AMAZING!” And so every time I draw my original characters I always make in the style of the RubberHose animation or as I also like to call it the CupHead style. Because pie eyes is the correct way to say it but pac man eyes isn’t what it was originally called because no pac man in the 1930’s not even arcade games so stop acting all Dude yo so dumb
Loved the style and the final result! Great tips you got there! Buuut be careful! You didn't drew the arms and legs alternating, which normally happens when we walk or run :P
