  • I get in my camper van and escape for a couple of days of landscape photography. I climb a nearby fell and photograph the mist as it descends over Derwent Water, however a great view doesn't always mean a great photograph.

A couple of times I come across something on youtube, maybe the filmaking, maybe the personality, maybe the tone or the scope or whatever, but that after watching I'll sit down for a couple of minutes, turn autoplay off, and just enjoy the way it made me feel. This was one such occasion, thank you.

Poor composition. Cliched subject matter. Lack of technique. Ham-fisted editing.... Well, that's enough about MY photography. Your's, on other hand, is inspirational. Your videos are a fantastic peek into your creative process. Long may you keep making them.

I do enjoy your relaxed style and the way you share your enthusiasm as you search for a photograph worth taking. Your choice of music adds to the relaxation and inspiration I get from watching your videos. The perfect way to end a day for me is to wind down with a cup of coffee and your video of the day. Many thanks.

Fascinating. I think what's even more amazing than the photos is having the context of the photo taken. On its own the pictures are gorgeous, but like any other Google pics, with context they gain so much more depth and beauty. Thank you

Well the photography part of it is really that simple. Finding those stunning locations and at those locations finding great compositions is the hard part in landscape photography. And, this video shows once more, you need a bit of luck too because we can't control the weather. But that's the great part about landscape photography. It is hard but when it all comes together it is so rewarding.

As an ametuer photographer I just love to get out with the camera, hike around and enjoy the fresh air here in Donegal. I don't watch much TV, just reviews on photography gear on UA-cam, I came accross your channel and I love your shows, views, your gear, the music, the way about how you see things in a relaxed way. Your photography is amazing, I hope you keep making your videos on here, it's so chilled out, I shut myself away from the world and watch your shows for an hour every evening with a wee cuppa tea. Fantastic work!!! Keep it up.

I'm so glad to see your channel grow up, I've followed you for almost 3 years, before you announced one of your "dreams" of doing a tv show, and when you were only having through time the same amount of viewers on your videos as now you have when it has passed just 5 hours since you uploaded them... keep the work! I don't care if you are sponsored, I don't care if you sometimes your videos don't get the image you are looking for, or if you use the same music you used to put years ago... watching your videos is relaxing and I know that the people that follows you think the same, and yes, it also inspire!

Just illustrates the landscape photographer’s challenge; that the light can’t be commanded and if it doesn’t happen then you have to accept it. The other lesson you have demonstrated perfectly, Thomas, is that when the light does happen, you just have to go for it. Another genuine, highly engaging and watchable video.

Me. Heaton, I am constantly learning from all the content you put out. Today’s takeaway is something I must have subconsciously learned and not realized it until you expressed it. Far more than in my beginning days, I find myself looking through my viewfinder, finger poised on the shutter release and then not taking the shot. Oh I still take as many photographs but not as many shots.
I am learning to really take an honest look at what I see and ask myself “does what I see actually excite me?” “Does what I see ignite anything in me?” If not, if I lack passion for the shot, there is no need to take it.
Thank you for helping me grow.
