I went to the beautiful city of Mombasa to show you guys how you can travel here on a budget!
We used the SGR to get here since it’s one of the cheapest ways to get to Mombasa!
Mombasa is a beautiful city located in Kenya. There’s loads to do here, but most importantly, the street food culture in Mombasa is extremely rich and we couldn’t get enough of the local dishes that we tried!
Next up are some of the things you can do while you’re in Mombasa. We enjoyed walking around the streets of old town Mombasa and appreciated the Arabian, Swahili architecture of the old buildings. We stayed in Tulia Old Town, which is a hostel made in one of the old houses in Old Town.
At the end of our trip, we got our adrenaline rushing by spending a few hours at Wild Waters!

Just a FYI the next time you come to Mombasa:
1. In Old Town (that's where I stay), you can get mahamri and mbahazi from a few places inside Kibokoni area, you need to know the places.
2. For breakfast, you went to too far (Mike's), that's in Ganjoni. Just near Siniya BBQ there's Naushad Cold House, you can have bhajia, kabab, etc. Also chips or french fries for lunch. Great food at a budget. It's a restaurant basically. Also, opposite Naushad Cold House there's Barka Restaurant. Good food great price. Just a few metres ahead there's Tarboush Restaurant. Great food as well. Open for lunch and dinner.
3. There's a Punjabi cuisine restaurant called Singh Restaurant in Mwembe Tayari area, near the bus stages. Great food.
4. There's a veg cuisine restaurant in town called Chetna and in Mkomani just ahead of Rehmani called Bhagwanji Fast Food Corner. Check that out.
5. For the best paan (beetle leaf), Kadiri's corner, next to Rehmani. In town, Love n Joy in Makadara, ahead of Tarboush.
There are alot of places here where you can get good food at an affordable rate. If you're here the next time, hit me up. Will show you around. Cheers.

Mombasa is famous for its beaches, world-class beach resorts, and it's historical significance. It is the most popular tourist destination in Kenya and is the second largest city in Kenya (second only to the capital city, Nairobi).

Thanks for sharing, I have really enjoyed watching your video. I just returned from Kenya late August(2022) so it`s interesting to view someone elses travel tips.
Im a Kenyan living in the diaspora but I find Kenya to be really overprized compared to other travel destinations in Africa. I agree we all travel differently with different budgets, but a budget of Ksh 8000 does not go a long way in Kenya and it`s a shame because Kenya is beautiful but you have to dig deep in your pockets to really enjoy.
The count y gorvmennt should build streets vendor modern stalls like Bangkok where tourist eat in Inn. And refurbish old town hall. struchers.

Thanks for the memories, we used to swim from fort Jesus to English point every weekend afternoon, and jog along the beach to Mombasa beach hotel. I wonder if they allow that anymore?
