    I received quite a comical ad on instagram ( / 0x4rk0 ) of a few kids and super cars with a bunch of money..... I had to get to the bottom of this.
    While most of the content in this video might not have helped solve my underlying desire, they are good techniques to try at home.

    I think this seems easy stuff because you live and track someone in the USA but in my opinion trying to track someone in other country is almost impossible!

    The best bit about this is that you talk through the issue of doxing and how you thought it through. People don't talk about ethics enough - there has to be balance when you are using powerful OSINT tools. Well done! 👍

    I've located a few people who were being complete a-holes on Reddit. Didn't dox them because that would make me a bigger a-hole. It's amazing the bread crumbs people leave in not just posts but comments that can lead to PII. One guy mentioned in a sub that he had heated floors and the square footage of his house. Once I had a general area nailed down, I did the same thing you did with the indoor pool. That little comment about his floors cracked the nut.
    Another guy took a photo of a shelf full of his big boy toys as a flex. I zoomed in looking for clues in reflections and actual found a partial address on a piece of mail. High res camera phones are awesome, lol. Once I had a general area on that one, the piece of mail made it easy. I will never dox someone and likely not even call
    Someone out on their bullshit. I just enjoy seeing if I can find them.

    I live in a luxury condo&apartment building&I in now way stand around taking pictures. Like…this shit requires housekeeping and I work 14 hours some days and 10-12 hours most days. In no way do I want to go around sprucing and sprucing just to take some baller pics. Jfc. If anything, people will see me sitting in my pajamas in my leather chair with no makeup on, complaining about random shit. Because I’m a real person and not a brand. Osint makes me feel way more normal. It really does. Thanks for doing this analysis, and great job!

    I think most of these techniques won't work outside of north America and Europe
    I'm trying to build my knowledge on OSINT but in places like Yemen I always hit a dead end
    And by the way if this is the house of his parents, doesn't that make him somehow untitled to it?

    • @0x4rk0
      @0x4rk0  3 роки тому +1

      Majd Gawdat you’re probably correct as far as techniques in the US/Europe. I personally can’t give much guidance for other areas of the world as I’m not familiar with those techniques. For the area you’re in, I’m not sure if the user @obretix on Twitter provides techniques, however they’re only focus on Intel is the Middle East.

    I've always wonder just exactly what is considered OSINT and what is not? Like, if someone was doing OSINT searches and ended up finding valid credentials from previous data breaches and then used those credentials to login to the target's accounts to collect even more information about them, would that still be Open Source Intelligence gathering?

    • @taterees9305
      @taterees9305 2 роки тому +6

      I think that your example would NOT be considered OSINT. The credentials aren't intended to be public, even if they are publicly available. Once you log in, you're on the deep web so it's definitely not OSINT. I think this is the distinction, whether or not the info was meant to be public-facing. That being said, I think it gets fuzzy in some cases and often isn't exact (ex. What if I accidentally posted a pic of my SS# to Instagram?). That's my take, at least

    • @creativityhub1350

      *used those credentials to log into their acct*
      Yea good luck with that.

    • @bluegizmo1983
      @bluegizmo1983 2 роки тому +1

      @@creativityhub1350 you'd be shocked just how easy that is. Usually if the data brech is less than one year old, at least 80% of the credentials will still be valid and get you right into all kinds of accounts as most people reuse passwords everywhere, and most people don't use Two Factor Authentication unless their forced to by default. So, you obviously won't be able to get into the big name accounts like Google that force all users to use 2FA by default, but there are tons of services out there that don't force 2FA.

    • @creativityhub1350
      @creativityhub1350 2 роки тому +1

      @@bluegizmo1983 no i get that. I just mean its hard to argue that's still part of osint- pretty sure no court would say it is.

    • @bluegizmo1983
      @bluegizmo1983 2 роки тому +2

      @@creativityhub1350 oh ok, I misunderstood, sorry! I thought you were saying it's not that easy to find reusable credentials. I would agree though I think it's crossing a line from OSINT to something potentially illegal if you're not on an authorized engagement and working within whatever rules were set!
