Oh man that three card ban would go so far... Extraordinary luck/unluck is depressing and unmotivating to play against. Not to mention how even silly things like moving one or two lands out of/into can completely change how it plays, just utterly unreasonable. EDIT: There's just so many other things you could do with your freetime these days, why play a game where some midwit designer/mathematician is doing a really a bad job at hiding their manipulation of your game.
Netdeckers have worked to optimize the fun out of this game for three decades; I'd imagine not having to deal with them for at least a short time would be a blessing on a platform like Arena.
My ways to fix MTGA Standard 1) only allow the last 4 sets be legal. 2) new set enters oldest set leaves 3) bring out the ban hammer on the card or cards that still warp the meta game
I’ve been playing on my f2p accounts with the new starter decks. While not powerful, you can get wins with any of them. If you’re new to magic, play with the starter decks and learn the mechanics. You will get wins
Competitive Pokémon regularly switch or ban moves or Pokémon to mediate the metagame and it keeps the game fresh. I remember when I used to play MTGA and even the losses were fun. Every feedback check in after a game now is honestly a frowny face
Ideas to make Arena fun and enjoyable? -Single player roguelike mode -Phantom Drafts -Spicy challenge modes that limit what cards your deck can have -Having a rotation that's for each set rather than every year. Like take one set from 3 years ago and put the new one in. -Ban more cards in Brawl. For the love of god please. The one ring sucks. -4 Player commander mode -Let you choose to have a tier 1 deck for free. -Spectator mode -Better deck sorting for formats and not having to change to friendly brawl every single time I want to do a friend match
i played paper magic around the time theros dropped, stopped around ixalan and now recently picked up mtg arena since a friend wanted to. we made some fun brawl decks and i made a budget standard deck because my mindset was "its early ranked, i doubt people will have high end decks this early" just to lose like 15 rounds back to back because i got hit by insane combos in like turn 3 mostly mythics and rares. went into brawl and most im fightign is lifegain or nadu and monoblue tolarian serpent/haughty djinn shit. grear game lmao
Play Forge. It's free, sometimes the AI is wonky but it's all cards, all format's for free and there's an online feature. (Edit) And there is an adventure mode kinda like old school Final Fantasy (NES) meets magic mode.
Have they significantly improved the AI on the Android version yet? Last time I played it was pretty terrible. Have heard that the PC AI is fairly impressive though. Wonder when AI will become smart enough to consistently beat humans at Magic. We probably aren't going to be around much longer after that.... 😳👋🤖🤖🤖🤖🤖......
Farewell, Farewell ! To go off on your free draft and constructed stuff, they should put classic sets like the Urza block on there, it’s the perfect work around to reserved list
Gem sales on the week leading up to rotation. I do think the veto of a card would be good. Only other thing I'd like is a no card needed to test decks vs sparky, possibly with some way of giving sparky a deck that is good. Edit: I would love to see some of the microprose aka shandalar cards added to alchemy as the random nature of those cards would fit in the format.
I'm actually surprised that the MTG A algorithm hasn't learned that I won't play against things. I play unranked (unless it is in bronze at the beginning of a season...which is the same thing) and absolutely refuse to continue a game if someone 1st turns a: mill card, hand hate, or obvious red rush. Those "games" are a waste of everyone's time. "Duress" first turn before I even draw a card...nope! a 'good game' and a leave. about the only reason I'm still playing is that I'm curious if I can get to a million coins. I buy cosmetics of cards that I use though.
They do have free decks... those are the decks I play ever since they riged match making... i suggest all precon commander decks you can buy for real money in the game... can you imagine playing 40k decks vs. fallout in the arena.
There absolutely should be a commander blacklist in Brawl on a PER DECK basis. There's so many legendary creatures it would barely effect the que duration for anyone except the people playing the most busted bullshit possible and tbh, who cares of those people get 5 minute ques. Fuck em. I'll give up my Finn the Fangbearer deck if I never have to get matched against other bullshit ever again on any other commander I run.
I still dont understand why mtg packs dont come with arena codes id buy the hell out them if so. Another thing id add give me the ability to dust cards i dont need or want for in game currency other wise get rid of card crafting all together, and you can only use what you actually own. It would cut way down on netdecking and force actual thought into deck building
I think the game needs more daily rewards or weekly rewards. I play daily but there's no reason to keep playing after my wins, I love magic but the game is so stale. I'm pretty sure you only get 3 daily rewards to keep? Why can't it be 7 so I can play once a week rather then daily.
I agree with every Point. An Engine improvement and active Bugfixing would also make it more enjoyable.

Why haven’t they hired you yet!?
I dont know but my Guess is. Des would decline. I could be wrong tho.
@@earthpond8043 They wouldn't pay him well enough
We are talking about wotc, their game is good everything else is garbo 😅

What they should do is a $15/mo. subscription and you get access to all cards while your sub is active. But you have to buy cosmetics.
Man, the PS1 demo discs were awesome as a kid!
They won't do " complete X in the next & games" entirely off of the volume of people who don't get the perfect opening hand and scoop.

Your correct i started playing free and ended up buying the pass every set and wildcards when i need them

Just removing all the game rigging elements would go a long way.
"there is more tier 1 decks in bronze than in diamond" literally any digital cardgame ever made, i dont think there is a solution for that

Arena already rotated I got rotated like couple weeks ago
The game feels so rigged, there's definitely some shady stuff going on behind the scenes.
LOL gems on sale; good one.
they can shitte can arena. there. fixed.
When is this inherently exploitative game going to stop exploiting us?
That's what I want to know.....
🧐🤨🤷♂️🤮
