  • Sorry for that bad quality. The video was recorded wih a cellphone cam, mounted at the dashboard. I will do another video, hopefully in better quality. And, of course, soundfiles will be added soon.

    Such a good engine. I only have a 2.0TDI but it's enough to cruise at 180 once remapped on the autobahn. Very nice car you have

      Thanks mate. Yes, it's almost impossible to drive at full speed on the autobahn, but 180 is a good cruising speed.

      I think that was one moment when the clutch was slipping, the speed does not that "shot" the revs do. That's my problem, too much torque (almost 800Nm) but the manufacturer of the gearbox/clutch only approves 700Nm max. torque.

      @@tim234mumba I'm not talking about visible slip, but about creep. The clutch(es) couldn't transfer full torque from the engine to the gearbox, friction losses were more than usual, but not yet visible / audible. A few weeks after the recording of this video, they became to be visible directly. The revs began to increase a bit faster, later more fast than the speed, sometimes twice as fast. That's the reason why the tuner reduced torque in lower rev area, full torque now only comes above 4000 revs. I'll either have to renew the clutches / replace them by stronger ones or go back to stock hardware and stage 1 tuning.

      @@petronelionut5692 Seems like it. Piece of crap gearbox. I just spent like 2500 bucks on s-tronic overhaul. Car only has 190k kms... Although it's really nice when it works. Just be prepared that tuning and maintaining it costs a fortune

      Unfortunately, the A5 was not offered with 4.2 (or 5.0 or 6.0) TDI. What a beast would an A5 be with the 10-cylinder 5 litres and when tuned 500 hp 1000 Nm (or even the discontinued 12 cylinder 6 litres) diesel engine???
      The A5 coupé is my favourite car, i just love the shape of it (but only 2-door model).

    I like this video, no random driving around, but straight to the point. Does stage 1 increase the fuel consumption and decrease machine life?

      Thanks mate, but please do not look @ my other videos, there you'll find driving around stuff as well ;-)
      Stage 1 will decrease fuel consumption a little bit, as long as you don't change yout driving style. But i never found someone who didn't change his/her driving style, just because it's fun to have more power and to use it, too. Higher strain will decrease every machine's life, but who can tell how much? I don't, and i will do a correct warming-up every time now and change oil more often as before and so on to keep that higher wear on a low level.

    Had the same setup from Darkside. Top end power was truly amazing, though i had issues getting there at the start. I switched back to a smaller turbo since, because for me in everyday driving the low end "turbolag" was horrible. Car would not boost before 2200rpm. Also had a lot of problems with EGT, specially cuz of the metering valve as it turned out

      That's right, boost starts slowly @1800rpm, and power then comes above 2000rpm, but for just cruising around that's OK. My daily way to work includes 2 valleys of approx. 200m down and up again on the other side, there i just pull throttle down and kickdown switches into a lower gear. I can handle this, no problem. Knowing that, if necessay, there IS power is satisfying enough ;-)
      Maybe I have sufficient pipe diameter on the intake side of the turbocharger, which lets this problem occur smaller, i don't know.
      I have no idea how the EGT is, and don't have any possibility to measure, but up to now where spring just arrives, there were no problems at all.
      The only problems I have are clutch issues, it sometimes slips and shows the gearwheel symbol on the MFA, but that's gone with switching off ignition. Sometimes there's a permanent remaining garbox failure, but VCDS protocol does not show details. I'll have to check clutch parameters once again from the company who did the programming in the near future. A new, reinforced clutch may be VERY expensive, so i'll try to fix the problem by increasing the oil pressure in the clutch from actually 16 bar, when it slipped @ 528 Nm torque, to 17 or 18 bar, before thinking about updating the clutch.

      @@andreasb9724 I never had any clutch issues yet, thankfully. Whats your engine code, CDUC? My car is the CKVC with the adblue system-which is now removed, got rid of it 😄. The EGT was caused by the upgraded metering valve i got from them. As soon as i switched back to the oem one it got sorted. Pretty much cooked the turbo at the start.

      @Martin Ortner Yes it's the CDUC engine. Yours should have 570Nm torque stock, right? I think the clutch issues can be solved by fine adjusting the programming. I will visit the programmer again ASAP and see whether that works. There's another thing, sometimes the gearbox/clutch make some noise, such as the turbocharger makes when you stop throttling, a descending wave sound (chi chi chi chi chi...) when shifting into the next gear, it seems as if it shifts too fast, and that also has to be checked again.
      Concerning EGT, I can't tell you how it is, but i think i've no issues with it. Maybe you got a wrong or defective metering valve from DSD, did you try another one from them?
      BTW, are you living in UK or in DE?

      @@andreasb9724 yeah, 580 nm on paper. Had the car on a dyno it made 253 HP and 597 nm, so it was pretty good stock. The clutch made the same noise u are describing. I dont think thats an issue though since it made that sound right from the "factory. I bought it from an audi dealership(München) with 9000 km-s on the clock. It was a show car, a Vorführwagen.
      I went back to the stock metering valve and the egt's were still a problem. It still is to be honest... but much better than the DS metering valve.
      With almost stock "tune" the car has still EGT problems that im trying to figure out. It sometimes reaches 950 degrees celsius. Maybe it has something to do with the software. Im on stock parts apart from the BiTDI MAF sensor the intercooler and a smaller hybrid turbo with a free flowing, custom exhaust with 4 endpipes like the s5 look, with the s5 oem diffusor to be exact. I like the 4 endpipes a lot, not going for the s5 badges all around thogh 😆 Well see. Im currently using my older car, an a4 2.0tfsi quattro as a daily until the egt is sorted completely. I live in Hungary actually. Im half austrian-half hungarian actually, finishing dental university next year 😄

      @@worldsfirstlol the sound is definitely not normal, when I bought my car it wasn't modified and i drove it nearly 1 year without that sound. I think it comes from clutching-in too fast/hard, then the gearbox begins swinging some times. But that's only a presumption. I hope to know more when the programmer has made some changes again, especially rise the clutch's oil pressure.

    Moin Andreas! Ich hole freitag meinen a5 3.0 tdi 8t ab (2016er baujahr) und wollte wissen wie das so beim tuning ablöuft, wie krieg ich mehr leistung rein (würde lieber softwäre machen und kein chip z.B) hast du ladeluftkühler turbo etc. gemacht? ich würde gerne einfach so an die 300 ps +-15 das würde mir reichen und halt eben etwas sound, bin den ja probe gefahren und da kam aus dem auspuff jetzt nicht so viel raus, straightpipen geht ja auch mit guten atrappen, aber qualmt der dann? weil das ist kacke für den lack und die polizei weiß sofort was los ist

      @jan Lukas Servus Jan Lukas. Wenn du die Fragen und Kommentare durchliest, hast du sicher die Antwort/en schon bekommen. Ein seriöser Tuner liest deine aktuelle SW über VCDS aus, verändert die Parameter und schreibt die geänderten Daten wieder zurück. Eine Kopie als Backup behält er parallel, damit du jederzeit wieder zurück rüsten kannst. OHNE einen Ausbau des Motorsteuergeräts (was man zuweilen noch findet, das wird dann geöffnet, modifiziert und anschließend wieder eingebaut in der Hoffnung, daß das Ergebnis gut ist). Es werden Daten wie Einspritzmenge, Einspritzdauer, Ladedruck uvm geändert. Wichtig ist, daß das richtige Einspritzmengen/Luftverhältnis (AFR) eingestellt wird, damit auch die Abgastemperatur (EGT) nicht zu hoch wird. Ein größerer LLK führt in gewissem Maße zu niedrigeren EGT, aber der Einfluss ist nicht gravierend.
      Die Einstellungen hat mein Tuner anschließend bei Testfahrten geprüft, wieder korrigiert, wieder geprüft usw. bis das Ganze dann letztendlich passte. Dauerte locker einen ganzen Tag! So ist dann auch gewährleistet, daß AFR und damit EGT passen und der Motor standfest bleibt.
      Mit reiner SW Anpassung kannst du rund 300PS aus dem Motor holen (hast du den MKB CDUC?), ohne an der Hardware etwas zu verändern.
      Sound bekommst du keinen besseren hin, wenn du nicht den DPF "frisierst". Selbst ohne jeglichen Auspuff hinter dem DPF habe ich meinen mal in der Garage laufen lassen - er war nur geringfügig lauter als mit Auspuff. Der DPF ist das "schallbegrenzende" Element. Schmeißt du den DPF raus, wird er brutal laut (hörst du in meinen anderen Videos) und bekommst den nicht wieder leise. Zumindest nicht leise genug, daß es der Rennleitung nicht auffällt (in Diesel macht im Leerlauf übrigens kaum Geräusche, sondern nur unter Last, das unterscheidet ihm vom Benziner). Wenn die Software (das AFR) passt, erzeugt der Motor auch ohne DPF keinen (bzw. kaum) Ruß, viele Tuner erhöhen nur die Einspritzmenge und damit rußt der Motor natürlich. Du kannst den Turbolader optimieren, dann bekommt der Motor auch zur höheren Einspritzmenge die benötigte Luftmenge, das sieht man auch nicht äußerlich (im Gegensatz zu einer Downpipe anstatt des DPF). Lass nur die Finger von Tuning-Luftfiltern, die schaden mehr als daß sie nutzen (mehr Fremdpartikel in der Ansaugluft wegen größerer Poren und !ganz wichtig! setzt sich das Öl, mit dem sie getränkt werden, auf dem LMM ab, der dadurch falsche Werte liefert). Wenn du in BW wohnst kann ich dir meinen Tuner in Durlangen (bei Schw. Gmünd) empfehlen! Google einfach mal "Tuner Durlangen".

    G'day mate. I used to have b8 a5 quattro 2.0tfsi with 155kw. Had the car since new for almost 10 years in the family. My dad gave it to me at around 180,000km and i had till 200k. Great car. I now drive my own b9 a4 45tfsi.
    I feel like DL501 transmission in the b8 is much more responsive and faster than the DQ381 transmission in my 18 A4. Reliability wise, DL501 in a5 had to be rebuilt at around 140,000km and engine at around 170,000km. Dq381 in my a4 is not slow shifting but slow responsive in manual mode. Also Dq max torque is only at 400nm when the engine produces 382nm. My car has just about 40000km, and I recently took it to the mechanics to reflash it as it was sluggish and rattled during idle in drive and accelerating in reverse and drive from 0. Hard shift was causing me too much stress. THUMP sound from tranny. For this reason, mechanics have reflashed it and also changed the compression of clutches? (Not too sure what they did) as AUDI TCU does not recognize wear and tear of clutch. So manually adjusted via vagcom.
    Im missing my a5 coupe, looks better and much more pleasant to drive. Because of this, I'm thinking about switching 3.0tdi b8.5 a5.
    How was your DL501 transmission prior to the tune and how is it now? I know DL501 has higher maximum torque than Dq381. Also now that I have a small 7m boat, diesel with a heavier duty tranny is preferred for towing. As far as i know, my tranny in the old 2.0tfsi is same as the one in diesel.

      Thanks alot, man. When I went to the tuner to modify the engine software, he also modified the gearbox software. Of course, I did a transmission flush @90Tkm, too. Now it switches faster, but to be honest I also never had problems with it before. But soon after the tuning, the clutches began to make problems, as you may have read in the other comments. They began to slip @ full throttle. Hence the tuner raised oil pressure of the clutches (as they did with yours) and reduced torque, (and the fun factor, too) and the clutches didn't slip any more. As I had to pass the technical examination at the beginning of this year, I re-installed the DPF again and so the power is reduced once again.
      The DL501 is built for a maximum torque of 700Nm, hence 786Nm were too much. But the gearbox itself didn't show any problems, just the clutches. I thought about installing a 800Nm or even 1000Nm race clutch, but that would cost another 3000€ (including installation), that's too much, i won't invest that amount if not urgently necessary. The wear of my clutches also may be caused by the pre-owner's job, he was the salesman of a metal trading company and obviously often used a trailer, too. I'm going to upload another video later, you might like it.

    Just got myself one of these, looking to tune it and take it to darkside too! How much roughly did they charge you for the full stage 2? I'll probably be only looking at a stage 1 (Remap, DSG tune and maybe some exhaust stuff)
    In terms of exhaust, what did you do, and how are you keeping it MOT friendly / legal? ;)

      I purchased most of the hardware of DSD, but I did the tuning here in germany. They (DSD) made an offer, including HPFP (which I haven't installed yet) about 7K£ + Tuning 1K£ (hardware fitting included, but excl. VAT.). That's what you can estimate to achieve 400+ bhp/800Nm.
      The downpipe is neither MoT nor TÜV (the german equivalent) friendly. DSD (and others) alternatively gut the DPF, thus no one can see (but still hear) the mods. It's extremely important that the exhaust gas can flow fluently to keep EGT as low as possible, otherwise the turbocharger would overheat and be destroyed in a little while. The DPF therefore is the bottleneck of the tuning. The easiest way to let the air flow the fastest possible way is to install a downpipe, but you can also install a race (catalyst and) DPF with better air flow to keep EGT low.
      You may achieve approx. 300 bhp @ stage 1, that's of course more than stock, but stage 2 is definitely another ballpark (league). Even a RS5 (stock) will have problems to overtake you @ lower speed, hence torque is the decisive factor for acceleration from standstill, power is the more decisive factor for max. speed.
      BTW Which engine code does your one of these fine cars have? And if you plan to do stage 2 please let me know! I can offer all hardware as well!

      I don't think I want to do anything crazy, probably stage 1 for now. My engine code is CDU / CDUC according to wikipedia (although darkside think it is CKVC) I have the facelift so the exhausts come out of the left side instead of dual exit. DSD quoted me £1.9k to get a custom CAT-Back exhaust, ERG blanking and fitting, gutting the DPF and CAT and dyno tune. It's really tempting, but I'm extremely worried about exhaust modifications as I don't want to fail MOTs because of it and have to spend ££££ "fixing" it. I know MOT check visually for DPFs, so we can gut that out I guess (although it still worries me), however what confused me is they said they'd gut out the CAT too? Thought a CAT-Back exhaust was from the behind the CAT and back. Gutting the CAT (if that's even a thing?) surely is very illegal and will definitely fail MOT due to emissions? I suggested perhaps getting a backbox replacement, or sports muffler/resonator but they insisted (as well as 2x other exhaust companies) that it wouldn't make a big difference. I don't want it to be obnoxiously loud either..
      Their exact words for the DPF/CAT were "Gut DPF and CAT £300", so maybe I'm miss-reading it? Again, not really confident when it comes to exhaust modifications.       Definitely looking to get a remap though and probably one of their DSG gearbox tunes too.

      @@ChilliCSGO Yes that was what I would have suggested: to look into the service book or under the boot cover (or directly at the engine): there should be a sticker with all data shown, such as PR codes and engine/gearbox codes, too. The CKVC engine ist one of the models with SCR technique, and yes, they have another exhaust system with tips only on one side. And the engines already have 580Nm stock torque.
      If i'm informed right the CDUC and the CKVC engine have the same DPF, which has the small CAT directly behind the turbocharger (after a 90° elbow pipe) which then opens up to the big diameter of the DPF (again 90° turned). It's possible to gut them without any signs, if the person who welds them after gutting is a specialist. I don't know how MOT do their tests, but here in germany, if you know someone who knows someone who... you may be lucky to pass the 1st test (emission test), which is obligatory to pass the 2nd test (technical test), without problems. DSD or other people in UK may have more information.
      When I installed the Friedrich Motorsport exhaust system (item # 991037-x3-x, if you want to google) it was almost more silent than the stock exhaust system, but when I installed the downpipe (without CAT and DPF) it was the same or even louder than in the DSD video @ 0:23 (but only when accelerating. Idle sound is rather quiet, a low freuency rumbling, pls refer to my other videos ). Hence I installed another universal 3" silencer and now they're almost the same. If you want a silent car let the CAT and DPF ungutted. But then you won't achieve figures much higher than 300bhp.

      Yeah I think I'll probably go with DSD custom exhaust and keep the stock DPF/CAT for now, as I don't want it outrageously loud.. yet. So seems like a safe option for me, to increase the sound and tone by a tad. I've seen your vids, and it sounds really really nice, just too loud for me, at the moment. I can always gut the DPF/CAT at a later-date anyway. I only plan to go stage 1, so don't need to go above 300bhp - Curious what torque figures a tune from DSD would give me, close to 700nm I assume?
      When things stable back out, I may look at gutting the DPF/CAT, going stage 2 etc.. but for now, nice and simple.
      I actually had a mini rolling race with a new RS3 the other day, from 60mph - 120mph ish and surprisingly, he didn't really pull on me, it was god damn even.. and thats with it stock. I bloody love this car. Use to own a Fiesta ST mk8, big change :P

      @@ChilliCSGO Yes, I think that's a good plan to do everything step by step and DSD should know what they do.
      I am very lucky to know a tuner here in germany just 1 hour away who is an absolute specialist since 1995. No bumbler who talks much in hundreds of videos but knows less. He doesn't copy files, he creates them. The alignment of my engine took 1½days of work until it was OK. I wish you luck with DSD!
      BTW the sound increases with throttle, if you just cruise it's much less, that is what distinguishes diesel from petrol engines.

      No, not yet. It's still the CR/CP4S2/R75/40 stock pump. With a R90 instead of the R75 I might achieve 400+hp, but then the clutches would slip even more. Up to now, I only installed stage 2 injectors and metering valve. Yes, I enjoyed until the moment the tuner reduced torque to prevent the clutches from being destroyed too fast, as you can see in my other ...V2 video. Full power and torque only comes above 3000rpm, so in daily driving below 3000rpm there's almost no power. 😞

      wie hat sich das mit der kupplung entwickelt? hält die noch halbwegs oder geht sie durch
      und weißt du noch die drehzahl bei 290 zufällig? meiner dreht bei tacho 270 schon relativ hoch
      überlege ob ich den umbau auch machen soll oder lieber erst einen handschalter kaufen
      achso und wie zufrieden bist du mit der motorcharakteristik generell so als alltagsauto, war er mit dem kleineren originalturbo besser zu fahren?

      @@alpha-cf2oi Ja, die originalen Injektoren liefern irgendwann nicht mehr genügend Kraftstoff. Bei mir war dann auch bei ca. 400PS die Hochdruckpumpe am Limit, der Motor ging in den Notlauf mangels Diesel. Daher waren die 386PS das Maximum.
      Nachdem ich das meiste wieder auf Serie zurück gerüstet habe (TÜV war fällig) hält auch die Kupplung nun wieder. Drehzahl bei vmax war knapp über 4000. Das Turboloch untenrum ist durchaus spürbar, wenn man beschleunigen will braucht es eben 2000rpm, aber daran kann man sich gewöhnen. War original nicht so, da kam schon früh das Drehmoment, das ist eben eine Umgewöhnung. Ich habe evtl. Teile für dich, wenn du den gleichen MKB (CDUC) hast.

      The tuning was made at the end of october, in autumn. Now it's winter here with temperatures below zero. So i never had the chance to check it at warm or even hot days.
      The tuner is known for his careful tuning, always considering EGT. But we never measured IAT at all.
      The air comes through a Pipercross PX1806 air filter, an bigger airbox to TIP silicone hose for 88mm BI-TDI MAF, a GTD2872VRZK turbocharger and a Wagner competition intercooler. Hence the temperature shall be OK and no problems will occur in summer, i hope.
      After the turbo there's a 3" downpipe, no cat, no DPF, and a 3" Friedrich Motorsport exhaust system ending in 2 oval tail pipes , so on the exhaust side the flow is sufficient, too.

      Yes, I've considered new clutches. But costs are another 3000€ including installation, that's a lot of money. If I'd do that, I'd also install a new HPFP (1000€) and would probably achieve 40 or 50hp more, but is that worth the additional investment?

      @@donniedarko7891 Das Getriebe ist offiziell auf max. 700Nm ausgelegt. Insofern war ich schon darüber. Aber es hat keinerlei Schwächen gezeigt, eben "nur" die Kupplungen. Ich weiß gar nicht, ob Bobby Singh einen Schalter oder ein Automatikgetriebe hat, aber der ist bei 603Ps (sorry, 603hp) über 1000Nm gekommen und das scheint das Getriebe zu verkraften: ua-cam.com/video/miL_8vjD-H0/v-deo.html

      La réponse: Je ne connais pas l'EGT et l'EGR. Le réglage a été effectué par un spécialiste qui a installé plusieurs fois une nouvelle MAP, puis a fait un essai routier. Il a enregistré tous les paramètres, y compris l'EGT et l'AFR, puis a optimisé davantage le MAP. Le tout a pris 2 jours, puis le MAP final était prêt. À 400 ch et 800 Nm, le moteur est passé en mode d'urgence car le HPFP ne délivrait plus assez de diesel, il a donc dû réduire à nouveau la puissance aux 386 ch et 786 Nm spécifiés.

      I'm not sure whether it's wind noise or not. But keep in mind that the A5 has no frames around the door windows, hence the wind suction is bigger and sometimes there's even sough when there's choppy wind, especially coming from the sides.

      Just search for "Darkside Developments Audi A5 V2" and you'll find the list (version 7). I did the same mods as they did, and even purchased most of the parts from them. Fuel pump is still stock version, but it's at its limit. When programming higher fuel qty, the engine made approx. 800Nm, but went into limp mode several times due to lack of fuel. So fuel qty was programmed lower again. There's, of course, some smoke, especially when the car makes full throttle, but when cruising around there's almost nothing.     Von der Geschwindigkeit und vom Namen her gehe ich mal aus das du Deutsch bist oder zumindest in Deutschland lebst. Für mich hört sich das ziemlich nach Straight Pipe an. Wie machst denn das wenn TÜV ist? Oder baust dann wieder eine Anlage mit TÜV ein?

      Die Geschwindigkeit würde das Auto auch in anderen Ländern bringen, aber Du hast Recht, ich bin Deutscher und lebe in DE.
      Die AGA ist ab Mittelrohr eine Friedrich 3" Anlage mit ABE, da gibt es also keine Probleme. Vom Turbo bis dorthin ist eine Downpipe verbaut, ohne DPF, richtig. Also kann keine ordnungsgemäße AU gemacht werden, da die Sensoren ja keine Werte liefern, wenn man nicht einen kennt, der einen kennt, der einen kennt..... Ich werde wohl im Herbst kurzzeitig auf legale Teile zurück bauen müssen, die AU machen und dann wieder auf Downpipe. Wobei auch die Software auf DPF ON programmiert werden müsste vor der AU und hinterher wieder auf DPF OFF. Viel Arbeit, aber vielleicht finde ich jemanden, der die AU auch so machen kann.

      Ach ja, zusätzlich braucht man einen blinden Prüfer, der den Unterschied nicht sieht in der Fahrgestellnummer, denn das Diagnosegerät erfasst soweit ich weiß die FIN bei der Messung. Mit viel viel Alkohol könnte aber auch das klappen :-)

      Ich würde mir mal keine Sorgen um den TÜV machen sondern lieber mal darüber nachdenken was im Falle eines Unfalls am besten mit Personenschaden passiert. Die Versicherung wirds freuen wenn Du ohne Betriebserlaubnis unterwegs bist die zahlen zwar holen sich das Geld aber wieder schön bei Dir.

      Nein, ich habe den größeren GTD2872VRK verbaut, obwohl der originale GTB2260VK für 400PS gut wäre (mit Modifikationen). Der Luftweg wurde ansaugseitig mit einem Pipercross Luftfilter, einem größeren Ansaugschlauch mit dem BiTdi MAF Sensor und einem Wagner LLK versehen, Auslassseitig ist nur noch eine 3" Downpipe und eine durchgängig 3" (bis zum Teiler im Heck) Friedrich Motorsport AGA verbaut. Größere Injektoren (Stage2) und ein größerer 4bar Ladedrucksensor (max. Boost ist absolut bei knapp 3,4 bar, also ca. 2,4 bar eff. Ladedruck). Nächster Schritt wäre eine größere Hochdruckpumpe, aber das ist noch nicht realisiert. Abgasrückführung ist noch aktiv.

      The consumption shown on the dashboard is NOT the consumption during acceleration, but the longtime consumption during the last approx. 50 km. Within the last 100Tkm it was between 8 and 9 liters per 100km.

      As i explained before: the (A5 and S5) speedometers are not able to display more than 291km/h. You will find this max. speed in several other YT videos. But another aspect is: it was shown when the revs were approx. 4050rpm. They still climbed up to ~4500rpm, but without any changes of displayed speed. Hence, if the speedometer would be able, it would surely have displayed more than 300km/h!
      On the other side, the gps measured speed was 271km/h (when the speedo displayed 291km/h) and still climbed to 283km/h, and that was the max. (gps proven) speed the car ever achieved.

      I did the hardware mods by myself, which were according to the Darkside Developments Audi A5 V2 VLOG, version 7. The software was programmed by a company located in 73568 Durlangen, Germany, which is specialised in this business.

      @Rytis Kurcinskas in the main all parts fitted straight. Neither problems with the turbo, nor the intercooler. Only the 3" exhaust pipes, as they were produced to fit the stock downpipe which means they hat an entrance diameter of 2,5". Also the 3" downpipe also was produced to fit the stock exhaust pipe of 2,5", hence there was a very short "bottleneck" of some centimeters length where both pipes were connected, which had 2,5" diameter. But as the sound was way too loud without the DPF i purchased an additional 3" universal exhaust silencer, cut both pipes' reduced ends and fixed them with strong brackets to the silencer. The sound is now OK, still loud but not too loud to attract the attention of the race management (police 😄) when they're passing by.

      Yes, you're right. At least in 1st to 3rd gear it is almost the same.
      Disregarding the very late shift from 2nd to 3rd and the very early shift from 3rd to 4th gear the time is almost the same in all 3 gears.

      That's the average fuel consumption, not the current one. If i cruise comfortably on the autobahn consumption is less than 6 liter. If i ride hard it's far above 10 liter.

      Nein noch nicht wirklich, aber aus dem Video geht einigermaßen hervor, daß es 0-100 etwa 4,x sec sind und 100-200 etwa 12 sec. Ich habe nächste Woche Termin beim Tuner, dann rutscht hoffentlich die Kupplung auch nicht mehr durch.

      So ich habe mal mit der Car Scanner App gemessen, die besagte: 0-100: 4,9 s und 100-200: 11,6 s. Aber diese Apps haben ja nur eine geringe Genauigkeit, bitte nicht vergessen.

      @@seriuzone LC ja, wobei die leider nicht immer top funktioniert. Außerdem: 295/25ZR20-er Reifen, quattro, das zerrt auch alles an der Leistung. Und meine Kupplung ist an der Grenze, die hat sicher auch geschliffen. Zwar ist meine Getriebe-SW auch optimiert, aber auch da nicht an der Grenze, mein Tuner ist seit 25 Jahren im Geschäft und setzt eher auf Sicherheit und Langlebigkeit als auf protzige Zahlen.

Besides one time on the "Autobahn" where I surprised an BMW (I couldn't recognize what type it was) with the max. speed (the BMW didn't ride faster than approx. 270km/h) I never tried to beat BMW's. The limiting factor at (my) Audi (and VW either) is the automatic gearbox, which switches noticeable slower than BMW's gearboxes.

      @@meritonemini6540 This gearbox, produced by ZF as you mentioned correctly, is officially construed for a maximum torque of 700Nm. My engine produced 786Nm (as you can see here: ua-cam.com/video/WEyupePS0PI/v-deo.html) which is no problem for the gearbox. Many other users have similar troque and never had problems reported. After tuning my engine, it took only 2-3 months when problems occured within the clutches. One of them began to slip, the revs rised faster than the speed (I think it were the even gears 2, 4 and 6) which led to the decision to update programming by reducing torque. You can see the result here: ua-cam.com/video/s--B_yjzFrY/v-deo.html. Some users say that this problem might be solved by increasing the clutches' oil pressure, but that might decrease their durability. Hence I decided to reduce torque. You can buy reinforces clutches, but they are expensive. Not just the material, but the installation either.

    0-200 time is 17 seconds??? Say with draggy this would be 19 seconds?! When this audi came out of the factory, at the same time the E92 M3 was build. That E92 M3 has official time of 15.2 seconds. Let this sink in people.

      Do you think a second measured by dragy is shorter than a second measured in a YT video? Best 0-200 of this car was 16.474 seconds, measured by GPS. This is a quattro (4WD) what costs power, the car is running on 295/25R20 tyres what costs power, has clutches which are beginning to slip and does not have 420PS, although more than 400Nm. Let this sink in, too, people.
      But... why do BMW drivers always claim that their cars are faster than others? I never said that my car is the fastest, the best or anything else. I know the acceleration could be (and there are many 3.0TDI's where it is) better. The maximum that was achieved with a 3.0 TDI engine is afaik Bobby Singh's A4, 603hp and 1080Nm, compared to that engine mine is a slug: ua-cam.com/video/miL_8vjD-H0/v-deo.html Nevertheless it's fun riding it! And that's what counts!

      @@andreasb9724 I didn't say bmw is better or draggy is shorter! I say in the yt video 0-200 time is 17 seconds without gps! So with gps it would almost certainly be slower with 1.5/2 seconds! Why i referred to the E92 bmw is, that in the time this audi was coming out, the E92 M3 was also there! It has almost the same time to 0-200 as the M3. That is verry impressive, also in today standards!

    Hallo. Mein Abo hast du. Finde ich klasse von dir! Ich habe auch ein A5 Sportback aus Ende 2015 3.0 TDI 245 PS Quattro Automatik Bereifung 265/30 R20. Stage 1 hatte ich überlegt. Ich traue mich nicht ganz ran wegen Langlebigkeit Getriebe und Motor. Würde gerne deine Meinung wissen. Mit freundlichen Grüßen

      Wenn du das DL501 Getriebe hast, das ist auf 700Nm ausgelegt, da kommst du bei Stage 1 nicht hin - also kein Problem. Eine reine Sofwareanpassung wird um 300PS ±10PS geben, das ist für den Motor meines Erachtens nach überhaupt kein Problem, damit fahren viele schon seit Jahren problemlos auf den Straßen. Fahre den Motor nur immer warm und wechsele das Öl (auch das Getriebeöl) regelmäßig, dann hast du auch lange Freude dran! Lass aber den originalen Luftfilter drin, keinen Pipercross oder sowas. Die haben größere Poren, lassen also mehr Staub durch, und das Öl, mit dem sie getränkt sind, setzt sich auf den MAF-Sensor (Luftmassenmesser), der dadurch falsche Werte liefert. Lass aber die Anpassung von einem Fachmann machen, der auch die anderen Parameter (insbesondere Abgastemperatur) im Auge behält, dann geht nichts schief! Wenn du in BaWü wohnst, kann ich die jemanden empfehlen in Durlangen.

    Very good engine but only use good oil and let the turbo cool down than the engine will reach 500k. Is this car Euro 5 you can delete the AGR/egr or deactivted it. VW had probleme with that I have a Audi a6 witz 313 HP and the 3l tdi but with Euro 6 Euro 6 gar dont need to have egr but my favorite is the om629 4l v8 Mercedes

      Yes, oil is changed every 30k and I only use Liqui Moly oil. No full throttle below 70°C oil temperature and, of course, before switching engine off I always drive some km without throttle to let the engine cool down. That's important for ALL tuned cars!
      The CDUC engine is Euro 5 but EGR is still active. With EGR off and an updated high pressure diesel pump I might achieve more than 400hp, but the clutches already slip, so I won't do any further steps to achieve more power.
      Audi/VW also offers reliable 8- or 10-cylinder diesel engines, but as they were never offered in the A5 I also never tried to fit such an engine in my car, although that doubtlessly would be a monster and BIG FUN!

      I'm not sure whether the programmer set a rpm limit, but even without it the car wouldn't run much faster. 291km/h is the current max top speed of it. I'll check whether there's a rpm limit in a few days.

      One more thing ... you can only see it on the original video, not here at YT: at 0:53 it makes 291 km/h at approx. 4050 rpm. The revs increase to approx. 4200 rpm without the needle and the digital display moving any further. With that rev he should do about 300km/h, at least according to the speedometer. This is the max. speed that you can see on various other videos here at YT, both with the A5 and the S5 model. The same speedometers are installed there, which are probably simply no longer able to display a higher speed due to technical reasons. The tuner also confirmed that yesterday, but only Audi knows for sure. But remember: The speedometer display is always higher than the actual speed, if he actually runs 280 km/h it should be roughly the real vmax. I'll try to measure with GPS and keep you informed.

      This question I can't answer yet. Next TUV inspection is in october this year. With a little luck i will pass 1st part (emission test) in a friend's repair shop, and at the 2nd part (technical test) they don't see the downpipe. All other modifications aren't visible at first sight. Wish me luck :-)

      Abgasuntersuchung ist mit der richtigen Optimierung kein Problem

    Real speed 295, engine was still going up

      When the rev counter showed ~4050, the speedometer said 291 km/h. But you're right, revs still climbed to ~4500 without any changes on the speedometer. It can't show more than 291 km/h, technically limited. But a GPS measurement said 279km/h (@291 on the speedo) and climbed to 283km/h which is the maximum the car runs. Real speed, not what the speedometer says.

      @@andreasb9724 yeah i know about that, its mostly common on bikes wereas the bike speed display is way above than the actual speed its going, especially at high speed, but yeah i meant 295 for car speedometer shown in this video since the gps speed wasn't displayed but in reality i wasn't really thinking the car was moving at the speed its dash was displaying.

      Na 291 km/h reichen doch... ich will ja nicht fliegen. Aber im Ernst, ich glaube, der Tuner hat die max. Drehzahl begrenzt, denn vom Gefühl her wäre noch etwas mehr drin. Ich will ihn sowieso demnächst nochmal besuchen wegen der Kupplung, da werde ich ihn mal fragen. So eine 3 vorweg wäre ja mal 'ne Schallmauer. ;-)

      Noch etwas... sieht man aber nur auf dem Original-Video, nicht hier bei YT: bei 0:53 hat er 291 km/h bei geschätzt 4050 U/min. Die Drehzahl erhöht sich aber noch auf ca. 4200 U/min, ohne daß sich die Nadel und auch die Digitalanzeige weiter bewegen. Damit dürfte er etwa 300km/h machen, zumindest laut Tacho. 291km/h ist aber die Geschwindigkeit, die man auch auf diversen anderen Videos hier bei YT sieht, sowohl beim A5 als auch beim S5. Da sind ja die gleichen Tachos verbaut, die wahrscheinlich technisch bedingt einfach nicht mehr anzeigen können. Das hat mir der Tuner gestern auch so dargelegt, genau weiß es aber wohl nur Audi selbst. Aber bitte daran denken: Die Tachoanzeige ist immer höher als die tatsächliche Geschwindigkeit, wenn er tatsächlich 280 km/h macht dürfte das in etwa die tatsächliche Vmax sein. Ich versuche mal, per GPS zu messen, berichte dann wieder.

And don't forget: It is a 4wd (consumes power) on 295/25R20 tyres (consume power) and the clutches are beginning to slip due to the torque (786Nm) which is greater than the manufacturer allows (700Nm). And maybe the gearbox software is not yet 100% optimized.

      I might install the RS5 speedometer, that one can show more, but real speed is less. Hence there's no need to update, I can measure by GPS and that was 283km/h maximum.

      @@southdakotaslim7419 Yes, if everything is in good condition. But keep in mind: it's a quattro, that costs power. And the most relevant thing is: the clutches had micro slip, a few weeks later they slipped so much that we had to reduce torque. And the shift times of modern gearboxes are way shorter than this gearbox has.

      No. The speedometer (both the digital and the analog gauge) stop at 291km/h, technically limited. It can't show more, even if the car would run downhill. But the real top speed, measured by GPS is 283km/h.

      Вес пустого автомобиля составляет около 1750 кг. Да, времена не самые лучшие, наверное, это связано (в том числе) с сцеплениями, которые иногда проскальзывают. Быстрее на 0,2 - 0,3 секунды до 0-100 км было бы хорошо

      @@andreasb9724 weil das kein 550d ist. Keine Ahnung was das ist, jeder 550d hat ein Logo im Tacho. Entweder im Tacho oder unterhalb des Tachos. Dieser hat keinen. Fragwürdig. Zudem ist das bj2013 , diese hatten nie die volle Leistung.

      Sì, è giusto. Ma tieni presente che la trazione integrale 4WD e gli pneumatici larghi (295 / 25R20) richiedono prestazioni. Inoltre, le frizioni sono sovraccaricate con una coppia di 786 Nm e scivolano facilmente. E anche il software di trasmissione non è del tutto ottimale.

      Maybe others run faster, but when can you ride at top speed at all? Only at night when the autobahn is empty, so it doesn't matter whether it runs 280 or 290 or 300.

      If you think so... I've passed several BMW's and wasn't slower, especially when starting from standstill. The quattro just consumes some power, therefore it may seem slower, but I haven't any wheelspin and that's an advantage in many cases. And most important: I have FUN driving this beautiful car, the side view just is fantastic.
