- For anyone not aware, I have stopped submitting list records after Sunset Sandstorm even though it's been a whole year since I beat a list level. I wished I would have said this sooner but better late than never. So please don't ask about Congregation not being on my profile.
I never thought I would go through something like this just so I can work up to a harder level. I thought it was impossible just to see this happen for how much was wasted after playing so many hours of this level. I am very happy and grateful that this is finally real.
Congregation has been a level I wanted to do someday as it gives a feeling not many levels have. With my love for Lotus Flower, this was my type of level that I could work up for maybe a harder timing level. And when this became the joke weekly, I went for it. It was really satisfying to play and get good progress knowing that 2.2 really changed how this level plays. But I was never more wrong until now. I got destroyed...
Playing this level, became a painful chore after getting absolutely nothing from my performance of failing at easy clicks over and over again. Having a session where you pass every chokepoint and dying to easy clicks over 40 times not getting anywhere is the most embarrassing thing I had to go through in this entire game. That session hurt my experience a lot. And it kept getting worse and worse every time I went through a full minute into the level just to fail at something that feels ridiculously easy.
After experiencing that, every click I failed to in the level, was devastating. It started becoming super chokepoint based where failing to those made it even worse. I would get to the robot very early in a session and never get anything for the rest of the session. I would sit and complain constantly, because there was nothing left for this level.
I honestly couldn't do this without having someone there watching from a live stream, or a discord call. Even though I had a lot of sessions off stream or on my own time, having a moment where I can actually engage for a while and just not care made it a lot better.
Needless to say, it might sound insane when I write this but I mean this while I have this as one of the worst experiences I had to go through with a level. Congregation means a lot to me, I'm so happy I got the chance to do it, I love everything the level has to offer, even if the gameplay didn't want to work from 0. It's an experience I will never forget and it will definitely help with my patience towards other levels. But I am so glad that it's finally over and I never have to play it again.
