Number one tip is learn to not care, learn to make mistakes. Learn to not give a damn about making mistakes and know that you are good. Practice and so you know you can make shots etc imagine how many times kobe missed a shot
@@ryyxzz_-_-6328 It’s what happens man, just don’t make yourself feel bad. If you mess up practice until you can barely mess up. Then no one can tell you anything. And when your teammates mess up don’t bring them down just worry about yourself
This is so true Kobe once said Confidence comes through preparation so when the games on the line I’m not questioning something I’ve done 1000 times before
I’m a 5 foot 2 undersized 14 year old guard and I just realized the couple of times that I did good was when I had motivation and confidence. This video helped me so much
you should also study isaiah thomas and curry's off ball movement. They both have Great methods to get good opportunities to score no matter what height
I agree on this one now when I think. I was once going 1v1 against someone I knew had at least 3-5 years more experience than me and he was also way taller and basically he had all advantages I could think of. But then when I was under with 8 points and and I still hadn’t gotten a single point I though to my self there is no way I’ll lose this bad to anyone. That was a big motivator for me to keep on going and then I scored 1 point and then it kept going I didn’t miss a single shot and then we were tied with 8-8. I still lost after that but that just motivated me to get even better at the game.
Cj _ I gotcha man. I’ve been there. Trust me I know the frustration. Here’s what I’d say to the younger me: In addition to everything in this video, make sure you are in the gym outworking everybody. You have to. You have to LOVE the grind. You should love the grind so much that you aren’t even affected by the outcomes. If you have a great game, you go back and work harder. If you play terrible, you go back and work harder. Process process process. When you’re in the game the only thing you’re worried about is doing your best. The process. Don’t worry about makes or misses or any of the outcomes. The makes will come will you commit to the process. Keep working hard and doing the right things and eventually the right things will happen to you. I promise. Results aren’t linear but in the end it’ll work out if you do the right things. Also, don’t be afraid to take L’s. Go find the best players in your area and play against them as much as you can. Play people who are better than you. Don’t be afraid if you get crossed up and lose to someone. You’ll get better and eventually you’ll be good enough to be on their level and your confidence will steadily increase. Again it’s all about getting better. Ultimately, be addicted to the game. Live it and breathe it. Seek out people who will make you raise your game. That will get you the confidence you need.

This video helped me a lot! Im 14 and when I would step on the floor to play, I would get around 9-10 points a game. Then after watching your video, I visualized myself making good plays and having complete control on the way to my games. Now I'm getting anywhere from 15-21 points a game. Thank you so much!

Some how this video is helping people. Confidence don’t mean shit if you’re trash, stop smiling and get to work. What weaklings mistake for confidence is hard work and practice.
Thanks for the tips. It’s frustrating because I can beat a lot of people 1 on 1 and score a lot in games with friends. I know I’m capable, but when I play a game or do a scrimmage, I freeze and forget what I know, and I end up messing up. I’m horrible at handling pressure.
Our grandson in the 8th grader who works harder than most BUT he freezes up in a live game, yet in pickup games at the gym he is shooting 3’s and driving and finishing like crazy.
so true, i had a lot of confidence on 2019 and didn't practice but still won top 5 player in our school. but now 2022 i practice a lot but still can't get my usual style of playing cause im always nervous when handling the ball
I’m a “5” 2 player that struggles most of the time but I’ve come to realize that the times that I played the best was when I had confidence. Tx brother. Like to be honest in open gym and stuff like that im the best now doibt but in real games i never show my skills and pass the ball all the time. I want ti change that in a good way
I have a game on Wednesday, and one on Saturday; I’m about to try it out and give y’all the update • Edit : Wednesday’s game : I follow the « preparation process » I’ve worked out for months on my skills before this game due to pandemic stops and … I was SURPRISED ! I can easily pass my defender at a point I was like « what I have the lay up » so I’ve miss some shots just because I was SURPRISED that NOW I can get them. So that’s a good surprise it works well. I had a lot of free throws ! So now on the Friday game I’ll really try to get in the « Visualization » process and now .. TRUST myself and we’ll see. • Edit : Since the last edit we had 4 games (lost 3, won 1, (I don’t play in the last L)), and I nearly do the SAME thing : I have a moment in the game, often in the 1st period, off the bench as a 6th man, that I put all my point like 6 points in 2-3 minutes, getting every body hot And after this, the point is : in the 2nd period I shoot way less ! I do a lot of pass, a lot good pass, or assist get my teammates open shoots, lay ups, and they missing (maybe because they don’t expecting me passing my defender so easily, what I wasn’t doing before) So I think that I am about to be way more aggressive, and pass, but also : taking more shot, because the few I take, I made them. So my advice is : keep practicing; and get the confidence from your teammates, by getting confidence in yourself. And know that it is a time process, for them giving you the team’s key.
I had to play on a different age group the year above this year and I’m still playing with them. I think it’s in September that I go into the right age group. That’s when I’ll take off. Right now I don’t make any mistakes and it’s not cause I’m amazing it’s because I play safe. I know I have the skill I just don’t use it but I’m going to perfect it and then in September I’ll be ready to fail on the new team as I know I’ll do well
You can always do the old countdown where your hitting the game winning shot. Pretend you just came back from 18 in the 4th quarter and your family is on the sidelines watching. The dude your playing against has been doubting you the whole year up until this point .Almost like he's your nemesis and if you don't make it you lose the championship game against the guy and in front of the people you love. You envision all the hard work it took to get there .From late night hoop sessions on the basketball court. To shooting free throws at 3am. Your girlfriend blows you a kiss for confidence. People are booing cuz its an away game. The coach says the play is gona come to your side once the Point gard passes it to you.He gets stripped somehow before that can happen. However you get the ball back with a few seconds. You get pass a few defenders as you make your way to the hoop. 3 seconds left 2 seconds .The ball is in your hands with every eye in slow motion watching ..... now make the shot.
I feel like I'm one of the best players in my team but when it comes to the game I'm not confident to take a shot that is I can easily make or I'm not confident to drive for that layup but I hope this helps
Confidence comes either from hard work (training at the gym) or Talent (born with natural skills)… so let’s be real here, confidence can’t be achieved just from thin air , it’s EARNED !!!
I was cut my sophmore year and have since then worked harder and put just as much or more gym time as anyone else thats on the team. I have improved astronomically, and am now playing with the team in summer league. The only problem is that it tend to freeze when given oppurtunity to prove myself, and now i am going to be a junior and as of our first practice i was placed with the freshman and sophmores, barely even the JV team. I want this so bad and I know I can do it, but i just struggle to figure out how to become a consistant ballplayer. Somedays i am actually one of the best playing on the court, varsity included, while others I probably look like I have no clue what Im doing. Like i said I work hard and I know that my coaches know I do, but it feels like i just have to take a few more steps and all of a sudden i will be a completely different player, its like the feeling that im almost there, but not quite. Like im being teased. Can anyone relate?
I’m a oversized freshman I’m 6’1 and 170 pounds and I’m 13 turning 14 in 2 weeks and I always be stressing about doing bad if they put me at center cuz I’m not a true big man at heart I’m more of a small forward/point guard and I’m tall lanky and fast and when I play against centers they 200 plus pounds and i can’t post them up in the paint like that I can shoot post fades and 3 pointers over them but they push be pushin me I’m more of a oversized point forward that has a good 3 point shot and post fade but I’m always nervous of playing against people who are way bigger then me and I play horrible infront of friends and family

And after this, the point is : in the 2nd period I shoot way less ! I do a lot of pass, a lot good pass, or assist get my teammates open shoots, lay ups, and they missing (maybe because they don’t expecting me passing my defender so easily, what I wasn’t doing before)
So I think that I am about to be way more aggressive, and pass, but also : taking more shot, because the few I take, I made them.
So my advice is : keep practicing; and get the confidence from your teammates, by getting confidence in yourself. And know that it is a time process, for them giving you the team’s key.
I get so nervous my hands shake a lot when I am given the ball, I pray this helps
Great video
Thanks for watching!
Most sports are 75% mental 25% physical, but power sports like bball and football are 50-50
Would this work on anything
Last time I played was March of 2020, now that I play again I lost all my confidence. Imma try this out for sure.
Work ethic eliminates fear Michael Jordan. Work at your craft and when it comes time to perform it just comes naturally
Bro this is me. LOL Down to the nitty gritty details of what you said!
🙌🏽
This really helped me thank you
Happy to hear that!
Thx bri
