I thought 33 minutes of the Rolls Royce would be a bit boring, but it wasn’t, i thoroughly enjoyed it. Car guys at your best, keep it up 👍
Huzzah!
The only way you'll know if you really attached to your cars is to give Jason the wheel and give it the beans. Turns out the Rolls is a keeper 🤣
“Very rarely did they rev the nuts off the Titanic”. Funniest line on automotive UA-cam!
I thank you 👍🏻
I enjoyed your review. I have had my Phantom Drophead for a barely credible 14 years this year. I did not spec it but bought it at 700 miles, so close to brand new and I pretty much echo your views. It is a special place to be and certainly does calm your driving style like a big dose of valium. I tend to use ours for long trips mainly between UK and the South of France (but, for reasons you will understand, not whilst we are there) and it is just wonderful on those sorts of trips where it manages something just north of 18 mpg. My tank is smaller than yours being the Drophead so useable range is not much North of 250 miles. Reliability has been pretty faultless over 40,000 miles. Sorry to bear bad news in your anti-plastic campaign but the chrome covers hiding the seat runners are not actually metal and the smoked glass is not actually glass. I share your dislike of the plastic petrol flap although on the Drophead it sits on top of the wing in the absence of a C pillar. You can however get a nice milled metal petrol cap to replace the the plastic original if you need relieving of GBP500. In short I still love it and have no intention of parting with it. If you are up for a challenge sit yourself in the back seat, have someone shut the door and then try and get out unaided. Not sure how that got past health and safety.
That is one imperious magnificent machine if I do say so myself. Practically an heirloom
My boss had a Shadow at a company I worked for and I never got a ride in it. Always missed out on a trip to the pub or weekly badminton tournament. However the smell of the leather when the doors was opened to the side of you as we were alighting a Rover SD1, with live with me forever. Pure class Damian…pure class 🎩😉
👍🏻👍🏻
i had one of these parked near my apartment garage. it's one of the kind car to show everybody that you made it in life.
Amazing video, cant get enough of the phantom coupe. Thank you gentlemen so much for 1. keeping it 2. documenting it. It’s just pure joy 👏🏼
👍🏻👍🏻
The best videos for me are when you guys are having this kind of fun...very much appreciated!
Spot on about the design
In 30 years time, people will have a hard time telling which decade it was built.
Boy oh boy.... Did I enjoy this. My ultimate car..Stunning
Rarely comment but this was an exceptionally well presented review. Good rapport between two ,clearly ,very good friends. Thank you.
Much appreciated!
Exactly the review I was hoping for! Really such a special car and learnt a huge amount about such a rare machine but also plenty of chuckles! One of the best parts of the channels is sharing such unique experiences with an appreciative and enthusiastic audience. More of the same 👍🙂
Glad you enjoyed it, Keith
Rolls Royce is the most premium brand when you think of luxury cars. Been lucky enough to go on the factory tour at the Goodwood factory and the attention to detail is crazy.
I have seen this beauty owning the M27 a couple of times, it is an awesome thing. Jason almost seemed to be tearing up at the end of his drive and you said " time for a sausage sandwich ". Great Video.
Brilliant. You tell us everything about the car at the same time as entertaining us. "Tiffin","Essex driver",.....love it. Well done Car Guys
Glad you enjoyed it, Giuseppe
You have made my Friday! Fluid and cheerful script without too much waffle. Have a nice weekend gents!
Much appreciated. Did you say script? 😂
Best thing you’ve ever done. Informative, amusing and suitably tongue-in-cheek. Great stuff…well done.
Great to hear it.
I drove a phantom from 1937. Most nerve wracking drive ever.
My dislike as a first impression is the design of the main headlights, there are just one each side. Two lights for each would be more appropriate in my opinion. Since its a coupe, the owner definitely sits in front as the driver and not having a chauffer I guess. Good review and great job done.
They must have gotten a fair bit of feedback as the "facelift" (not really a full facelift) has larger, conventional rectangular headlights like the Phantom
That is one very special car.As always great video and I look forward to the next one.Cheers from Australia.
Thanks 👍
Dear Rolls Royce,
Refrain from using plastic for any touch points including but not limited to; Petrol filler caps, and window switches.
Kind Regards,
The Car Guys.
👏🏻👏🏻
It was quite about time for this majestic car to be properly reviewed. Personally I think it looks best with the polished metal finish on the bonnet and the windscreen frame. Which is also the reason behind the panel line on the roof.
Glorious! Thank you for such a complete review. Always loved the Phantom coupe.
👍🏻👍🏻
Well done guys , thoroughly enjoyed that ride 👍
Glad you enjoyed it
Great review of a very special car. Road presence like no other.
Many thanks for watching
"Do you want to drive my Rolls?"
"Yes please"
"Cool, put this suit on and I'll jump in the back"
🤣
Great episode as usual, thanks as always! 😁👍
Great video. Proper land yacht. More please!👍
Thanks, will do!
It was like watching an episode of Thunderbirds with Parker and Lady Penelope. Absolute fantastic entertainment guys 😊
👍🏻
I love this car. Built in England and, ironically, not the typically sized vehicle you'd expect to see on English roads.
Built in England... by a Germany company. 😜
@@julianevans9548 😀
Size-wise it’s aimed at those strange (but wealthy so we’ll pretend we like them) Johnny Foreigner types
I think I could manage one of those. Exceptional banterage this week guys 😄👍
Much appreciated, David
A very special video, thank you!
Glad you enjoyed it
Wonderful car and a great video. The only Thing i would change is the chrome on the back around the lights and exhaust. Maybe Black or polished aluminium.
Great to see the Double Act back in full flow enjoyed the education on the model the Phantom Coupe has a style of it's own for sure
👍🏻👍🏻
I agree at the end. If a director of a company turns up in a cheap tacky range rover rather than a majestic rolls you have to wonder if the company is doing ok.
I recommend the Rolls factory tour down at Goodwood! I asked why Rolls are allowed front suicide doors when they're outlawed? Because we are Rolls Royce, Sir. We do things properly.
Amazing answer
Without doubt a future classic
I dislike everything about Rolls-Royces - it's just the associations with showy wealth - but that was very entertaining. Bravo. (And ignoring my own biases, and these associations, even I can see that it's a pretty stylish car.) And interesting that you point out the cheap and nasty bits like the petrol cap cover and the plastic buttons - never seen reviewers do that with RRs.
Enjoyed the reference to Thatcher's mate, Jimmy Savile. Eleven new year's eves she spent with him, so you know the security services checked him out and told her what he was doing.
Wonderful!
It’s more mob boss than lord of the manor in black.I could imagine driving from one end of the country to the other relaxed on arrival, sublime😊
Magnificent. Thank you.
👍🏻👍🏻
Great video! Love a rolls
Thanks for watching
Fabulous review,
Great video - again - love every angle of this beautiful (motorcar) except the...... headlights - not sure what i would do, but they do look too small.
I don’t remember ever laughing quite so much at a car review! Very informative, interesting and fun. Excellent job guys
Then our work is done 👍🏻
Think some Black and Silver numberplates would finish off that Coupe ! Another fabulous video from the Car guys. ❤
I agree 👍🏻
Beautiful car 🚘🚙🚗⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️👍👍👍👍👍
Another *excellent* review of the Rolls Royce. For me and this is just a personal choice...I do not like the headlights. Could you make a video on Bentley? Thanks for the time you take to make and research each topic on your channel. Be well.
Great episode. Long live RR!
I had ride in latest Corniche, unforgettable impressions
I saw you driving south on the M1 in this a few weeks ago Damian, it looks amazing on the road 👏🏼
Splendid Gentlemen. Very enjoyable. What a lovely Automobile
Glad you enjoyed it
I saw one of these in Canterbury the other day
You guys are bloody good entertainment
Much appreciated
Think I need a Roller. Loved the vid.
Much appreciated, Richard
I am a Rolls super fan. I am going to enjoy this. Thank you.
You’ll love it
I would love to drive this beautiful Rolls-Royce .Thankyou for a great presentation.
👏🏻👏🏻
You guys just get better and better - briliant
Thanks, Thomas
very amusing review!
Lol that Andrew Tate dig 😅
Beautiful car, excellently reviewed and presented.....(although personally I like the Star Headliner, and I'm no footballer or a Kardashian - whoever they are 12:06 ).
👍🏻👍🏻
Buy a footballers car… get a footballers roof 😂
Love it! I had forgotten about the split folding boot. I wonder if there is a company that can replace the plastic switches and add Andriod Auto or Apple Car Play?
No doubt about it. It is super cool., even my 16-year-old daughter wants a Rolls-Royce
Out of all the cars you have this is my favourite.
What a beautiful car - lucky you
Cmon Jason lord of the manor? More like Parker without his cap on hooning around with Ronnie Corbett in the back.good stuff!
A special compartment for an umbrella, no one’s shown that before. 😊
😂😂😂😂
And yet, you’d slag me off if I didn’t show it
Still one of the best looking Rolls ever!
Very entertaining, well done.
I'm just curious: can you give an educated guess on the real world consumption figure of that thing? I know it's a peasantious question and I do apologize.
BM KEY too, caps error
Both Damian and Jason really fit the show like a glove. Wish they can discuss about the issues that are affecting the global car industry later.
Another brilliant series and as always a lot of fun to watch
My favorite part, Damian sitting on the rear shelf. Think of it this way the car has proven to fulfil a heavy duty utilitarian purpose, so therefore rest of the car is for free 😉😂
Great
Pretty large turbo inlets and amazing performance for an NA motor (and a caption!) 😉- enjoyed the vid 👍
direct fuel injection, it also employed new technology that surpassed that of its immediate successor, including double VANOS and Valvetronic intake control, the latter of which is conspicuously absent from the current twin-turbo N74 V12
Great video and what a car,it’s a homage to bygone days of rolls Royce’s….probably won’t make a car like this again unfortunately
No they won't. Glad you enjoyed the episode.
@@TheCarGuysTV hopefully the ev bubble will burst…I see the future as makers like rolls still making petrol engines on special models as a “nostalgic “ gesture…and of course they’ll sell immediately…..strange times we live in
Waiting to test out the Phantom coupe! Just purchased my first phantom, and posted about it on our channel :)
Very cool!
Warwick Davis should have done this review with you two as co hosts.
You lucky lad 👍
Particularly enjoyed this one.
Great to hear
The irony of an Aldi savers and Tesco saver mobile ads half way through.. I thought the "algorithm" was smart.. where is my hand finished peasant slapping tool?
Sausage! Wahoooo, fab to see, thanks guys.
Glad you enjoyed it
It's cool because of its rarity, but I think Wraith moved it on. Bloody MASSIVE and it comes across in the vid.
The Wraith is a very different experience. The Wraith really does feel like driving a modern sporty interpretation of a Rolls Royce and does a brilliant job of it - especially in Black Badge trim. Watch the one doing the run at Goodwood and absolutely roasting the tires. Incredible. The Phantom Coupe is much more like driving a proper classic long-nose car with the huge wheelbase and very rearward seating position and much more upright and the huge steering wheel with gentle slow inputs. The Wraith is for hooning, the Phantom Coupe is for more for gliding along while being in the driver's seat. I don't think one replaces the other, both are brilliant to experience in their own way. One of the reasons the Phantom Coupes are so rare though, especially in Series 2, is people thought the Wraith was better on paper and was cheaper, and totally missed the point of the experience you get in the Coupe. In many ways yes the Wraith did move a lot of things on, but at the same time the Phantom Coupe was it's own unique thing. It's really hard to explain in words how older, slower, bigger and heavier can be more special, but it is.
@@LaurieMB they should have given the MKII the V16 engine to differentiate it. They weren't building enough for it to ruin their "fleet emissions"
best episode ever.
👍🏻👍🏻
a true monument
It’s a wonderful machine but I can’t help suspecting rather than feeling like Mr Toad whilst driving it about I’d instead feel more like Princess Margaret.
need to get one with cocaine king number plates
Yea proper gentleman’s express
Lovely roller but did you buy the LFA Damien?
1:27 I had to repeat it! 😂🤣😂🤣 Good one boys!
I’m very confused why Rolls would choose to use the plastic window switches when they’re used a lot and everything else is made out of aluminum. Very good review lads. I work at an upscale hotel they also has a residential side of the building, one of the owners has a Ghost I believe that’s a convertible. I often find myself stopping to look at the car and peeking in the windows. It’s amazing how big the car is and it’s not even the Phantom
I’ve done trackdays in mine and have seen 0% for a few secs at a time
😂😂
What a lovely motor car. I’d suggest it suits Damian more than the other one…
Do you mean Jason, or the Maybach?
@@TheCarGuysTV Jason, yes that’s the fellow! :)
@@TheCarGuysTV you can take Jason out of Essex but you can’t take the Essex out of Jason (waves to Jason… and I was born in Chelmsford :)
Love the car. I would like it in a different spec, seems to monotone, but it is your money.
Great video, loving the analogies and euphemisms 😀
Rollers not bad either 🤣
Paid a trip to autotrader.
Do I need 2 kidneys???
I've had no problems so far, but that is no benchmark - I may have just been lucky
I bet Jimmy had the starlight headlining 😉
Goodness Gracious eueueueueueu
Must be becoming an old fart but I think this is possibly one of my favourites in your garage (alongside the Land Rover). Just slip me the Aperta for days I am feeling youthful 😊
I am the same, love the Phantom!
the whole review makes comparisons between the haves and have nots…. quite interesting
In what way?
Your the metaphorical professor of you tube. What a gorgeous horseless carriage.
👍🏻👍🏻
Not sure on your take as to where this coupe originated … what came first, this or the drop head …??? If it was the drop head which was a two door then I believe the RR Coupe was based on THAT ??? Great car though !
Super Car
Looking forward to phantom 6000
or the 6000 SUX?
