I miss that old time bluegrass music. People used to come by my parents' house and play a lot of that type of music. Great and priceless memories.

It's nice to hear Jim sing lead. It isn't very often that he does. I love his high nasaly Virginian voice. You don't expect to hear that high of a voice to come out of him. I love Jim & Jesse.

As a native of southwest Virginia, all I can say is "GO, HOMETOWN HEROES!" They don't make em' like Jim and Jesse anymore! Furthermore, I'd love to see what the seven people who disliked this video call "music". Cheers! -JB

Garland Shupping was a killer banjo picker that left this earthly coil too early, but what thrill in banjo picking he left for us to enjoy. RIP Garland!

I used to pick with his son, Brandon. It's been passed on through his son. He mostly known for the mandolin. But he can knock the socks off of a banjo as well!

Last time I saw them it was in Louisville KY @ the annual Bill Monroe Birthday Festival around 1986. It was around 9:30 AM their bus pulled over on Main St. they got out & had been travelling all night. They immediately took the staged & sounded just like this. Absolutes professionals!

Yowzaa!! I've been a banjo player for over 17 years, and I don't think I'd ever heard of this guy. Always been a J&J fan, but this Shuping guy...GREAT backup playing, those little melodic runs at 1:56 and 2-2:03 - tasty! Anybody know how long he was with the J&J lineup (i.e. what albums he played on)? Just googled him on my googler, and I'm off to find copies of Bluegrass Alliance and Wild Country as well.
