They need a heat lamp and I say lower the water so they do not have to struggle to get up on the basking area

I already have the heater in the water. Secondly if i lower the water my filters will not work. They just don’t flow the water until water level is there where is it in video.

You can make a basking area out of egg crate and put the heat lamp and uvb above. It is necessary for their shells to fully dry, stay healthy, and shed scutes.
It is a ton better and bigger than what you currently have, and you can even put it up with pvc pipes to the point where it stands up above water level so they have tons of room to swim and bask.

Is basking area not enough? They bask a lot for continuous 7-8 days and then they just don’t bask at all for 2-5 days. They are very healthy turtles and the bigger one shed so many scutes. I thought shedding scutes is an issue. I didn’t know it’s being healthy for them lol.
I did not get your pvc pipes idea. Do you have a video or pic for it?

@arslanchandoo if you look up "egg crate basking area" on youtube several videos should show up. I think turtlegirl has one with the pvc pipes on bottom like mine, and I'm sure some others too. The egg crate type will help because you can put the basking & uvb light directly above it so they can absorb uvb properly. It also let's them dry off completely even under their shells which can help prevent shell rot from moist areas.

Also, if you get a different top or use an egg crate as makeshift top. You can put the egg crate basking area you built above water/tank level completely, allowing for tank to be fully filled with water, giving extra gallons of swim area. The best part about this type of basking area is the fact it is pretty cheap overall and easy to make. Just use a file or sandpaper to wear down where you cut the eggcrate, buy one or 2 eggcrates, some pvc pipes, and zip ties.
