Advice From President Nelson to Millennials Living in a Hectic World

- How can the rising generation live more happy and meaningful lives? President Russell M. Nelson of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints told a group of young adults in Las Vegas, Nevada, on Saturday, February 17, 2018, the answer can be found, in part, from a parable describing the importance of avoiding distraction and temptation.
He began his address using a parable to emphasize that “your ultimate safety in this life lies in never taking the first enticing step toward going where you should not go and doing what you should not do.”
The prophet explained that as human beings we all have appetites necessary for our survival. “These appetites are absolutely essential for the perpetuation of life. So, what does the adversary do?” He asked. “He attacks us through our appetites. He tempts us to eat things we should not eat, to drink things we should not drink, and to love as we should not love!”
President Nelson told hundreds of young adults, participating in the fireside in four Las Vegas Mormon meetinghouses, that they should learn to have purpose in this life, know who they are, why they are here and how to master the divine laws.

Such a good spirited message. I think even if you're not religious, the struggle to gain your identity, and to garner self control, are principles that create a strong foundation for any person's life. Whether you're an Atheist, Muslim, Jewish or Buddhist, we all need a sense of who we are and what our purpose is. This is a consequence of our higher level of reasoning. Self awareness comes at that great cost, that now we have developed a need to find meaning in ourselves.
Self control to avoid enticement or satiating appetites that would hinder our goals is one of the key attributes of the ancestors of any of the world's great peoples. We all come from a lineage where our ancestors worked to provide for their families through the discipline of the self. Their cost was high so that ours could be light.
We can do good for our communities. We can engage in civil discussions, and offer our hearts and hands to help those in need. We are not isolated from the world, we are insulated within it. The times we live in are treacherous, but the fortitude of good people is mighty.
Hang in there folks, all things in time, get better.
One way as members of the LDS faith, we can refer to our patriarchal blessings to help us find our individual purpose and ask for guidance and strength to fulfill that purpose. Create goals from the guidance received to help you fulfill that purpose. If you are a member and do not have a patriarchal blessing, get in contact with your bishop to see what you need to do to get one. Love you all, brothers and sisters! It is that time to start doing and not just hearing and planing. However small just start doing something even it as small as putting a smile on you face for at least one minute when you first wake up in the morning. We can all do something now!
Americans should be proud of The Church if Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. And that America is the cradle of the restoration. So many are proud of the military who are sent to have wars with distant nations. Yet, despise those who serve a mission to share a gospel of Jesus Christ, peace and love. The Latter-day Saint missionaries are a credit to America and the best people I’ve known (Note : I’m British and live in Britain).

Yes, I can see here how President Nelson is a leader more than capable to continue the legacy of other modern day prophets as he increases public's awareness of the Latter-Day Saints faith by making himself available to the media to spread the glorious message of the restoration of the gospel of Christ.
Amazing , we just had Elder uchtdorf come to our steak and it was the most amazing wonderful thing that we never saw it Apostle in person we're so grateful for his love and support than he said president Nelson sends his love do the people of California. As I was leaving to return to my home I had to stop for traffic and Along Came the black small SUV and in the backseat was president uchtdorf and I said oh my gosh 2 feet away from me I said hi president I couldn't get home fast enough to tell my children.
