Once a year, thousands of logicians descend into the desert for Learning Man. At the center of that gathering is the world’s most exclusive club, where under the full moon the annual logician’s rave takes place. The entry is guarded by the Demon of Reason, and the only way in is to solve one of his dastardly challenges. Can you get into the rave? Edwin Meyer shows how.

Worse, it made it seem that the clothes people wore (and that of course all could see) were a key part to solving. A terrible mistake by the writers.

Love the TeD-Ed Cinematic Universe where everyone thinks perfectly logically and talks in riddles all the time. I would love to see a movie built around the entire premise of some random dude getting teleported or something into this world and then having to figure out A, wtf is with everyone, and B, how to escape. Then when I watch I can be like “OOH I REMEMBER THAT RIDDLE” like how I knew every single streamer and game reference in Family Guy.

A youtuber goes to a party. He is running late. But at last, he arrives. Outside, he finds his 23 friends waiting in a circle.
I love how the demon of reason is now a character and can pop up in any video if he pleases
Glad that I didn't give up and managed to solve this. 😊 Took me some time before realizing that there has to be at least a pair for each color. From there, the riddle became easier.

So this is the green eyes riddle, just on steroids.

It's actually more simplified, at least in my opinion, since there are more eyes that you can confirm it works.

Is it just me or this riddle sounds incredibly soothing. I rewatched it a couple of times because it is strangely relaxing.
FINALLY A NEW RIDDLE
I was thrown by:
"Each person is wearing a mask of exactly one color"
and then:
"Logicians wearing at least 2 different colors gained entry at the fourth bell"
Yeah, got confused around that part as well.
And 4 people in red got entry first
But later he said only 3
I did 23-4-4 and concluded to 7🤦🏻♀️

"Each person is wearing a mask of exactly one color" =/= "There is exactly one mask of each color". You've just demonstrated the Fallacy of the Converse, assuming the reverse relation is true. The purpose of the statement was to clarify that nobody was wearing mixed-color masks. Your basic logic is clearly flawed if you fell into that simple fallacy.

I actually got this one because I’ve seen the green eye riddle, my notes even say “must be 2 or more of each color” and “no matching sets of 4”

Finally, a riddle involving everyone’s favourite character!
This took a while but I got there, and it feels great! Really nice puzzle.
One of my favorite recurring characters. Right next to 1/3 in decimal form.
I got it! I almost always manage to solve Ted-Ed's riddles! Now if only I could remain as clever when things actually matter.

I had absolutely no idea how to get this one but the solution was so clever it made me wish I had tried for longer than a couple minutes

So basically it took ten minutes for the 23 people to enter, plus the amount of time it took for the demon to explain all these goddamn rules

Demon: imma give this logician a mix of two Ted-Ed riddles.
The demon is British: "I shall challenge this logician with a mix of TWO Ted-ed riddles."
Only issue I have is that if the first pair don’t get their correct color by chance, it ruins the rest of the inductive reasoning order.
It says they all did it perfectly
They dont do it by chance. If you see 1 color without pair, you are the pair, bc there must be a pair
@@alex2005z however there are two examples in the first round without a pair. If you choose the wrong one, the order is ruined as now someone else will reason they are the nonexistent 3rd for the pair
@@junaidshahzad6803 you will always be able to choose the correct one. lets say in the first round you have 2 yellow and 2 green masks, with you being a green (but you dont know yet).
Now you look around and you will see 2 yellow, and one green.
deduct and you will know you are green, since each color must have at least two masks.

Green Eyes using Recursion in such a way that I just don't get it.

Ted Ed series are having a crossover. This is amazing.
There is an error in this puzzle. On the second day, when two sets realize that it's their day to go up, neither of the sets would be able to figure out which color their mask was, since there are multiple sets. They would have to say something like "I'm either blank or blank" Which is implicitly not allowed, since if it was you could walk up and say all the mask colors you saw on the first day, and say "im definitely one of these"
You’re totally right. I was just thinking that there was no way for the person with the red mask to deduce that they’re also red, because then anyone in the circlw could do that
Only one set of people realizes it on the second bell, not two. It's clearly said they were all the same color.
Let's say you're in set1, and can see all of set 2.
At the first bell, you see the two others of set 1 not going in, so you know there's at least a 3rd person or else those two would have gone in already.
Now, you would be hesitating between 1 or 2 for yourself. If you were to think you have 2, and then looked around to find a 3rd person for 1, you wouldn't find anyone, thus letting set 1 with two people only, which is proven impossible at this point. Thus you can deduce that you don't have 2. 1 is the only remaining option, so you deduce you have 1.
When that demon started talking at the end I was scared asf

Hey, was this one written specifically for everyone who saw the Green Eyes riddle? Because you basically have to use the same logic as that one to determine how people are able to leave, then do a bunch of math based on that to determine how many people are left at various points.
Aye the demon of reason makes a comeback.

Let’s be very clear: the hardest part of this riddle is internalizing the idea that someone could base their own decisions on the presumption that other people act logically.
what a marvelous riddle
This is such a satisfying problem to solve, because it seems so unaproachable on the first glance, but only requires a couple of key insights to arrive at the solution.
I have to say, the whole "Logicians wearing at least two different colors" part was kind of confusing, since it was established that each mask only has one color. It probably could have been worded to be less ambiguous.
But bravo, TED, this was a toughie!
