Finally someone that didn’t mention ASD and that genetics can play a factor as well as sex in affecting speech delay.

I wanted to know if you have a child that is doing all of the 11 things they should before they can speak, but still that child is just not speaking, should you maybe use less words in a day when playing and emphasize just those words? like maybe just 2 or 3 words every day for a week?

Hi! Hmm without evaluating the child it is hard to say. Try these tips ua-cam.com/video/9VFzsU740YA/v-deo.html

Omg LESS words??... No! Please use MORE!!! The more quality language babies and kids hear the better! The more language-rich environment the baby is in the earlier and better they being to speak.

My baby is almost 7 months and is alarmingly quiet. Doesn't vocalize with an open mouth. Lots of noise with closed mouth, when upset but no cooing or babbling with open mouth.

I'm no expert, but ask your doctor. Also, don't give up. Just keep talking and responding all the time with your baby. We all learn at our own pace.

Thank you for this video, very informative. I have a question: my baby is 7 months old. She has started babbling (ba ba mostly and some ma ma) but after a couple of days that she was saying those (few times, here and there), she stopped and returned to vowels and squeaking (she enjoys that a lot). Is that common? I read that speaking and movement develop almost together and since she has already started crawling, sits independently and even grabs furniture and stands up, she would've progressed with her speech also, but she's stuck. Any ideas? Thank you! 🙂

@@Miss_BlueI'm glad your baby is fine now. We're in the same situation as you. My baby turned 7 ang a half months now with great motor skills crawling, standing with support but stuck at just cooing "aaaaa" but no consonants yet. Hoping to know how you manage to help your baby's speech?

@@camillepailan4469 Hello Camille! Sounds like your baby is on the right track, I wouldn't worry at all. What I did with mine at that stage was talking to her as much as I could, pointing and naming things constantly, asking simple questions and waiting for her to reply, singing songs and reading/ watching books (even if it's just one book, mine liked one in particular and at that age would start flipping pages). At around 10-13 months she wanted to look at family photos very much and started pointing at things a lot, which I guess is a good indicator of pre language communication. Soon after she started saying her first words. A new book with real pictures of everyday things I think helped her a lot. I started naming them and then after a few days started asking her where is this and that, and she knew what a book was, an orange, a lion etc so it was obvious that she could understand. After a couple of weeks her talking took off! Take care, all the best to you and your baby ♥️

My son 3 months and I looked this up bc I knew babies babble away at his age but I thought I was going nuts when he was babbling away then had a new sounding long babble and he just kept repeating it over and over. It sounded like a mix of simlish and babble. I was just not expecting that 😂

  • @Kimsical-whimsical

I have a niece who is nine months old. Her parents and grandparents have never talked to her in normal voices, just squeals and nonsense and never talking to her using real words. Now she is at nine months old and she still hasn't even started babbling at all. She just squeals every now and then and growls, laughs and cries for anything else. But no vowels sounds whatsoever, nothing else. My sister and law and family all think she is really advanced and so good but it's not normal for her to not be making any babbles at all. It is her first child and she said before the baby was born that she doesn't want any advice from anyone. My own daughter spoke her first words at 6 months, I know that is early but I really worked with her. They won't read to her or play any learning games, either to try and help her because they don't see a problem. What should I do? I thought surely by nine months she would start at least making vowel sounds and cooing, but nothing. She also won't play peek a boo or mimic sounds other people make or clap or anything like that but they think she is so advanced because it's the first baby and blood related baby (my daughter has a different dad so she's not blood kin to my husband's family) and they think she hangs the moon and refuse to see that she is behind. I would like to tell them that maybe they need to talk to the doctor about her language development but I don't want to cause problem and it's technically not my baby. I just don't want her to have a learning delay and have problems the rest of her childhood because my in-laws don't want to acknowledge anything. I have been telling my husband since the baby was born that if they didn't start talking to her using real words, that she was going to be behind in language, and now it has come to fruition. Should I just keep my nose out of it and let them find out for themselves? I only want the best for baby. When I'm around, I try and talk to her as much as possible and show her things so I can at least say I tried. She also won't let anyone else besides her parents and grandma hold her, is that connected possibly?

It’s not your place to say anything. All you’ll do is push those people away! Don’t give advice if someone isn’t looking for it. It just pisses people off. Seems to me like that baby might have autism which has nothing to do with how the parents speak.
