- Devastating drone vision reveals flood damage across Far North Queensland after Cyclone Jasper made landfall north of Cairns.
Residents were left without access to power, food and drinking water, with many homes inundated with water.

Would be interesting to see any film anybody might have of what Atherton looked like during the rain.
You cant even blame that on concrete jungles not allowing drainage. That is just good old-fashioned flooding Noah Style!

I sit in stunned silence and awe of mothernature I am so saddend by your losses big and small. My only help A prayer abd love in my hart as I am so very far away. Back home we have the same Floods every spring after all the snow melts. Sometimes water would stay for a month or more. Noone builds anything permanent there. Just summer holiday houses as its flood plains
The name flood plains has a meaning.

Natural event. And anyone from there knows it. This is ridiculous emotive coverage.
Wow, all that flooded area that used to be farmland is now sub-divided and then became a town and housing.
It pays to live on high ground; the low-lying coastal fringe will go under many times as the climate changes, sadly its becoming common all over the world.
Sad for communities, but MUCH More needs to be done to address climate change and sustainable land use management ... including positioning important infrastructure in the right places (out of flood zones!) ... and most importantly, family planning to reduce human population explosion!!!

FYI It's mainly the airport and a few big businesses that have got flooded........Very, very few homes and of the homes that got flooded most are on flood plains so they know if the build there this could happen. This guy should help out the cows on the bridge that are stranded rather than flying drones around.
