- Preparing an old hardcover book to use as an art journal. I really like using old books to art journal around in and this is the way I prepare hardcover books to journal in. This is part of the Deep Dive Gelli Plate class I'm teaching online in November 2020.
Have wanted to make an art journal for years. Your video inspired me to do it. Thank you! Making my first one now!

This has been helpful as I have gotten a little confused as to how to thin books down for my journals.
I am brand new to this world and I haven't started decorating one yet. But I had one book that was easy to thin out. It had signatures that I could easily pull the pages out. But then I have another book and it's bound very, very tightly. It is Hard to find the signatures as it is so tight. I can't pull the pages out easily. It's the perfect book for what I want to do and I don't want to ruin it.
So cutting the pages out wth the xacto knife And gluing random pages here and will work too.
