Gene Wilder and Harrison Ford in The Frisco Kid. OMG what a hidden gem. these two play very well together and both at a early stage of carears. "Im trying to be as quiet as possible" Best line delivery in whole movie! LOL Thnks for the memories
After watching Mosquito Coast. My wife refused to watch anything with Harrison Ford in it because he did such a good job at being a horrible person. However, I managed to get her to watch Frisco Kid. She loved it. And didn't realize who was in it until after the movie and told her Harrison Ford was in it. 😁
I quit Netflix long ago, watched the shows I liked until getting bored with them. Went back later and the shows I liked were gone. Not happy with Netflix stopping disc rentals, as I much rather have a hard copy of what I like, instead of streaming services constantly changing the availability of what I want to watch. Not being able to watch want I want, doesn't make me to choose to watch whatever happens to be available, I just turn it off and do something else.
Just FYI... the Divergent series did not end... third one did so bad the final one was cancelled. The dangers of splitting the last book into 2 movies.
I heard "Under Paris" is facing some legal issues and has a court case on June 13th (?) that could result it in being pulled from Netflix. Watch it quickly if you plan to.
Same here. Particularly the director's cut. Compared to the new Dune Parts I and II, it is not nearly so dark in vision. Plus Sean Young as Chani beats Zendaya hands down. She played her far less brooding and conflicted; and far more of an ally to Paul.
Yeah, Prime has G-1...if you don't mind paying $6 to watch it. 2/3 of everything on supposed "Prime Video" either requires a subscription to some other streaming service or a rental fee. I already pay for Netflix.
MAX recently added DUNE 2 and they also have DUNE 1 .... I sat down and made a day of watching them back to back, part 1 then 2. A lot of fun, but glad I wasn't in a Theatre and could take an occasional break during the 6 hours...
Eh, wot! Sweet, it's available on Netflix Canada too!!!! Which is a good sign since at least one of the companies that I'm gunning for a job with is a Netflix company based here :D
What was so appealing about Ali was that he really was as handsome as he claimed. Thats a huge part of what was so mesmerizing about him. He brought the goods to back his confidence. Smith is handsome in a goofy way. Mis cast.
Hey Darren, did you decide to no longer include the release year with the titles? Only it helps a lot to track down some of the films, please. Big thanks.
Lynch did not disown Dune (the first half of which is a masterpiece, but only the first half) but he did disown the extended cut (with Patrick Stewart singing...) which has the dreaded Directed by Alan Smithee credit.
I really wish you would open a Fable account now that they do TV. You could pick a series old or new to discuss each month - like a book club. Anyway, thanks!
Hi Darren, Love your show, and look forward to them always, but I have some questions on sequels that I've been waiting for forever. First on my list is HELLBOUND; it's a Korean supernatural/horror series, I've been waiting for three years, when will it show up. The second show, also from Korea, is Squid Game, and finally is Gyeong Seong Creature, I haven't waited too long for this series but it would be nice to know when I should look for it. Let me know, thanks.
A Million Ways To Die In The West is the first movie I’ve diverged from your comments. I think it’s the closest to a legit cutaway version of live action.
As always your videos are great! Thank you…this is my first comment it was important..we loved Dexter and you did too…watch the last season…it will not disappoint! You make our movie experience better!!!!!
I was a little skeptical about Hit Man -- but can't say enough about how much I loved it... It had it all, comedy, plot twists -- it on my list for a definite re-watch...
The problem with Divergent is they tried to milk 2 parts out of the 3rd movie which was common back then, but they failed to make the 2nd part so it's incomplete. Perhaps next time they'll think twice before blowing up the budget of the 1st part so that way if it luckily breaks even they'll make the 2nd part just so it's complete.
Netflix has an interesting series, Bonding, about a graduate student in NYC who works as a dominatrix and gets her high school BFF to be her assistant.
Lego Batman ! .. my son worked on it !! his first job in animation !! it was such a hoot seeing his name in the credits !! the whole extended family watched it and we all stood up and cheered when his name scrolled up !! LOL !!
So let me get this straight, this video has been up two days, and Godzilla Minus One dropped on Netflix June 1st... and you didn't feel it warranted at least an edit re-upload?
I almost clicked off the video when I heard your review of A Million Ways to Die in the West… I can’t trust a word you say from here on in. I hit mute to at least see what movies are coming.
That explosion in the cave is much worse then the cold chainsaw scene. It would have caused an over pressurization that would have mangled them up pretty good.
I love the Dune 1984 movie, and haven't heard from very many they didn't enjoy it. Though to be honest I doubt this is the best version. That one, Dune (1984) Alternative Edition Redux, is so much better then the original or the Director's cut. It's created by fans all over the world, including many working for studios and it's upscaled to 4k. Hard to find though. Or it was, not sure now.
Since showtime put their shows behind teh paramount + paywall, Dexter coming to NF will allow me to finish that final season. I saw maybe 2-3 episodes or it when it aired and it was pretty lack luster, like all teh seasons after 4 were, but sometimes I like closure. Just realized I never finished burn notice.
@@leonnahofer9138 Oh no, I finished the original Dexter. I tell people Dexter is great but stop at season 4. I started watching Wire in the Blood around that time and saw so many better directions Dexter should have gone in.
@@leonnahofer9138 I was thinking the same thing about both of those shows plus I'd add Walking Dead to the list. It seems like they run out of good ideas after several seasons but since the show is so popular, they just run with what they've got. And I'm the sucker for watching till the end because I want to see how it ends.
Dune (1984): Worth watching, if for no other reason than to see Sting and the child Alia saying "And how can this be? For he is the Kwisatz Haderach!" and Baron Harkonnen floating around all pissed off.
So was Godzilla Minus One a surprise? I hadn't checked Netflix for a couple of days. Than Godzilla Minus One. English Dubbed. I didn't get to see it in theaters.
1917 is AWESOME - not just the excellent cinematography and the way the "single shot" concept makes it a fully immersive experience but the story; script and acting are all superb, especially from the 2 leads which is just as well as George McKay is on screen for all but a few minutes of the 2hr run.
In college I watched Lynches Dune(3 hour ext cut) every night. The new Dune(part 1 & 2) is inferior in dialogue and pacing. It also basicilly uses Lynch's version as its framework and uses his dialogue repeatedly. I don't see anyone noticing this
You said Dune is a mess, but the clips you show for it are the best looking, most interesting images shown in this whole vid even though it's 40 yrs old.
Love the Ash shirt! I saw 1917 on the big screen and it was a great flick. Twilight movies are teenie bopper blowmance flicks. Why do you never go to the bathroom with a Pokemon?... He might peek atchoo.

I happen to love the '84 Dune! It's one I rewatch at least once a year.
Somebody has to.
I also happen to love it and know several others that also appreciate it. It is not a mess as VanDam states!
No.
I strongly agree. I really don't get the hate but I guess I am weird that way

I think you undersold both Dune 1984 and a Million ways to Die in the west I Love both those movies and them highly rewatchable
I differ with you on 1984 Dune. That mess you call the original Dune is fine. I grew up watching it and it still is amazing in my opinion.
The “Includes Promotion” message covers up the name of the movie/show. Dang it. Love your videos!! ❤
Gene Wilder is a true comic genius! So many great performances!
I think Kicking and Screaming is so underrated. Will Ferrell’s character goes so crazy, I love it. The way he abuses the kids and his wife, hilarious.
