Awesome video I learned alot from this video thanks for sharing
Glad it it helped! That's what we're here for! Thanks for watching! 🫶
Thanks for sharing your computer. I’ll be in the market and had no clue. My Mac is so frustrating that I dislike editing. Takes the fun of sharing out.
We've always been a windows and android family, not for any reason just happened to work out that way. Highly recommend wondershare filmora 12 for editing, we tried davinci resolve for a while but found it was such a massive program, and crashed all the time. Filmora is an extremely simple yet effective way of editing. Thanks for watching!
I use Filmora as well! I've been using it for over 7 years, bought a lifetime subscription for $50 USD back then. Filmora has definitely improved over the last 2 years! It's always interesting to see everyone's gear/tech breakdown. I'm in the process of improving my power system on the kayak (similar to you). I'm sick of continually swapping out action cam batteries so I'm going to the Pixy Mini powerbank by Futurizta.
We love Filmora, we were using DaVinci Resolve but found that it was such a massive program, and we weren't using half of the features. Filmora is such a simple yet effective way of editing. Running external power on the go pros is the only way to go! Not only are we able to film continuously all day, but we've also never had any over heating issues since we don't have a battery inside the camera, thanks for watching!
Just subscribed to you guys from your podcast with Wendell fishing! Good video looking forward to going over your other content!
Thank you! 🙏 much appreciated! 🙌 🫶
@@kckayakfishing hope I can help you get the watch hours up! Haha good luck with your 2024 goals!
@southwestindianaoutdooradv4714 😂 no pressure! Enjoy the videos! Thanks for your support!!!
I have a question. How do you keep the wireless mic waterproof on the gopro? I just ordered your same setup, and I'm very excited to use it. Much respect and love for your videos.
Thank you! So we use silicone earplugs around the ports of the microphone receiver attached to the media mod, and recently we added a "sunshade" from Etsy that covers the whole go pro, media mod, and mic receiver to keep any rain off the setup. Which has worked surprisingly well it even keeps the rain off the camera lens. The microphone transmitter just stays in our pfd in a zip lock bag. Unfortunately there's not a great way that we've found to protect the LAV mics from getting water on them when it's raining, but tucked inside our jackets seems to do the trick.
I tried looking for the same sun shade on Etsy but it says its no longer available, I'll keep looking and post a link if I find something similar!
Thanks for watching!
1st, congrats on the UA-cam monetize, what a feat. I am a subscriber and love your videos. With the media mod you show at 2:45 in this video, how do you connect your power supply to it? Do you have a specific cable/ part number and does it keep the Go Pro waterproof?
Thank you! And thanks for your support, much appreciated!
So GoPro claims that the media mod is weather resistant, whatever that means! But we definitely don't trust taking it out in any type of rain by itself. We use silicone earplugs to cover the microphone, since we run wireless mics we don't have to worry about ruining the sound. We also use the earplugs and mold them around all of the ports on the back of the media mod for the audio jack and power supply cord. We also ordered a 3d printed "sunshade" to use as another layer of protection against the rain and spray from waves. Our power supply cord is just a normal 2.4A usbc cable, with the silicone earplugs around where it plugs into the media mod. It protects the camera from rain and spray from the waves, but unfortunately, we haven't found a way of making them 100% waterproof while using the media mods. If we flip the cameras will most likely be destroyed. www.3brpowersports.com has some other options for "weatherproof" cases for running external power, but not sure if they'd be 100% waterproof either.
Hope that helps, and thanks again for your support! If you have any other questions about our camera setups feel free to ask! 🙌
