Fun fact, The Red Baron's Squadron was called "The Flying Circus" which was was where Monty Pythons Flying Circus, got the last part of their name, more precise The title Monty Python's Flying Circus was partly the result of the group's reputation at the BBC. Michael Mills, the BBC's Head of Comedy, wanted their name to include the word "circus" because the BBC referred to the six members wandering around the building as a circus, The group added "flying" to make it sound less like an actual circus and more like something from World War I. The group was coming up with their name at a time when the 1966 Royal Guardsmen song Snoopy vs. the Red Baron had been at a peak. Freiherr Manfred von Richthofen, the World War I German flying ace known as The Red Baron, commanded the Jagdgeschwader 1 squadron of planes known as "The Flying Circus." The words "Monty Python" were added because they claimed it sounded like a really bad theatrical agent, the sort of person who would have brought them together, with John Cleese suggesting "Python" as something slimy and slithery, and Eric Idle suggesting "Monty". They later explained that the name Monty means Lord Montgomery, the great general of the Second World War"
Yeah that's fair, they're the hardest to do for me since I know they'll leave me upset for a while afterwards. That said, as long as there's a playlist, I'll definitely come back to it. ❤️
@@PandoraPlaysMusic Thanks because it’s pretty much my main point in how I found your channel and why I’m here because I’m a sabaton loyalist. So appreciate the sabaton reactions and will just hope they come as often as you possibly can make them. :) Love the reaction. 👍 🙏
"Let's say, I TRIED to play it". I appreciate Joachim more and more, each time I hear him speak. The organ 'ride' was unexpected from the band... I'm not the most experienced Sabaton fan (not even close) but I'm not sure they've used the grand old machine much in the past... speaking of 'grand old machines', do you think they used an actual Hammond or Wurlitzer ? Somehow, using an actual analog organ would seem much more fitting.., I'm not much for synth-copy... my one year working with pipe organs has made me a tone-snob when it comes to organs. The sound of a Hammond, the beautiful imperfections built into the tonewheel... a steampunk kind of instrument for a steampunk era in flying. That list of injuries for the French Ace... and the story of Berthold... they sound like the same kind of personalities seen in SOME rock stars and motorcycle stunt-doubles. Thank you for playing both historical videos. "Were the Argentines at Verdun? ... come on, Read a Book!!"
To my understanding yes - Joachim played it on a Hammond organ. They also took an organ on tour in the guise of a triplane, which Joachim states it is a Hammond. One of - if not his first, I can't quite remember - his first instruments was an organ, even if that doesn't show much in the Sabaton songs.
Yeah even tho I'm 16 this man is my idol and always has been he is the legend of the sky and that will not change and before the Fokker triplane production got out he was actually shot in the head on an arial dogfight and he survived that's why in the one part of the video he has the white bandage over his head and even after countless reminders and recommendations for him to stay on ground and to continue to no longer fly he continued to fly and he scored 80 kills and unfortunately from his gunshot wound to the Head and his headaches and temper change did this is most likely what got him to cross over enemy lines and get himself killed but still a legend and never will die in the sky
There are three Theories I have heard about the red barons dead. First: Just plain suizid. Second: His head wound opend up again, leading to his actions. Third (to me the most possible): German high command wanted the red baron away form the fornt, but he always refused them, because he liked flighing to much. So the high command thried to forch him down. Since he was from nobility (Not a baron, this is a translation mistake, more a Knight with more privilage compared to a normal one), his parent could technaly declair him their heir and call him back with the reson to perserve their heir. The red baron heard about the plan shortly before his last flight and knowing his mother also wanted him away form the front he feared this most likly would be his last flight bevor being recalled home. So he planed to ceep true to his words to ceep flying till he run out of fuel. This in turn lead to him ceeping on pursuing instead of turning back.
I read somewhere that the bullet that killed him, also pierced both of his lungs. This guy landed the plane instead of crashing it ... *while not being able to breathe normally and with a trashed heart* ... absolute madlad!
After the war, Charles Nungesser mysteriously disappeared on an attempt to make the first non-stop transatlantic flight from Paris to New York, flying with wartime comrade François Coli in L'Oiseau Blanc (The White Bird). Their aircraft took off from Paris on 8 May 1927, was sighted once more over Ireland, and then was never seen again. In postwar Germany, Rudolf Berthold organized a Freikorps and fought the Bolsheviks in Latvia. He died of gunshot wounds during political street fighting in Harburg on 15 March 1920. Berthold doubled back through the school when the mob attacked. As he exited the back door, someone spotted his Pour le Merite and yelled the alarm. A mob overpowered Berthold. His handgun was taken from him and used to shoot him twice in the head and four times in the body as the mob mauled him. Hans Wittmann, who retrieved Berthold's body, described it thus: In the dirt of the street lay, lifeless, Hauptmann Berthold, his shoes and his overcoat robbed from him, his face crushed into a formless mass by the mob's feet, his paralyzed arm torn out of its socket, his bloody body punctured by gunshot wounds...
Being in the audience when they do this live and be part of the entire crowd yelling "Higher!" everytime is sooooo amazing. Thanks for the video!

Belle réaction! Just love the fact that you have decided to pronounce Sabaton with a French accent. Sounds good.

I really enjoyed your reading of the lyrics, especially the part where you correctly pronounced "Rotekämpfflieger."

Hi Aran!
All I knew was from the comic "Snoopy and the Red Baron" 🤣thanks for the history
You’re right! There was this video game for the Atari 2600, Snoopy and the Red Baron… ua-cam.com/video/0XfGUXoTxSo/v-deo.html 👍
