The "Cult of the Bloody Tongue" in the Necronomicon Pinball is actually a cult in the Tabletop game Call of Cthulhu. It's one of the villains in its arguably most famous supplement, Masks of Nyarlathotep, and they worship the titular Nyarlathotep. It makes sense to be in it, since Call of Cthulhu is popular in Japan in a similar way to D&D in America. Neat to see a reference like that.
While I'm here I thought I'd recommend "PinOut", a multi-stage Pinball top-down scroller. The neon visuals are simple but look nice, each stage (of which there are 7) and the "endless" mode have their own color scheme and music. The game has a timer ticking down and there are white dots placed in each stage which give u 1 second each, aswell as power-ups where u can choose between a pre-selected one and a random one, and finally minigames, most of which are endless as far as I can tell and give u extra time according to ur progress but get pretty hard pretty quick. All of that is removed in "endless" mode, meaning u can no longer collect any extra time and have to get as far as u can on the time u've collected throughout the stages. There are 13 ranks that correspond to certain scores, my personal highscore being 12305 meters, giving me the rank "Mediocre", but don't be fooled by that, "Mediocre" is not only the 2nd-highest achievable rank in the game but also the name of the publisher. and the 2 games I have from them (PinOut and Smash Hit) are *_FAR BETTER_* than just "mediocre".
I freaking love Metroid Prime: Pinball on DS. So many hours spent on the loo with that one, So many dead legs. Yoku's Island Express is really clever and fun, too. I really must finish Rollers of the Realm one day. It's also a pretty cool and unique take on pinball. Yes, I really like pinball.
Some excellent video pinball games here. Flipnic is so underated. I was surprised to not see any of the Crush/Crash games though (Alien Crush, Devil's Crush, Jaki Crush). Those are my favorites. I think we need a part II to this video! :)
I know the Crush series is very famous but I think one of them (Alien Crush, Devil's Crush, Jaki Crush) or even the recent spiritual successor Demon's Tilt deserved to be in this video :)
Did you know that it is part of a Windows 3.1 game called "Full Tilt!" published by Maxis (same company that made the Sims and Sim City)? Space Cadet only was included with Windows from Windows 95 until XP. Someone at Microsoft tried to port it to x64 but had some issues that forced him to drop the project. As long as you have some basic knowledge of DOSBox, you can easily find Windows 3.1 already pre-installed for it, then all you have to do is mount the ISO or bin/cue for Full Tilt! Pinball and install it from Windows 3.1. The mount command looks like this: imgmount d full_tilt.cue -t cdrom imgmount is the command, "d" is the letter to which you wish to mound the CD (always D, don't use anything else than that letter) full_tilt.cue is the name of the file to mount -t is an argument that lets us specify the type of drive it is going to be cdrom is the type we need to make it work properly within DOSbox. It is also completely unrelated to the drive letters in your computer so it doesn't matter if you already have something that uses "D:" as its drive letter. If your ISO or .cue file has spaces in its filename, I recommend removing or replacing them with underscores or else you'll have to write your filename between quotation marks : imgmount d "full tilt.cue" -t cdrom Alternatively, you can find a download of the Space Cadet table alone (the one that was included in Windows) and then use a wrapper like DGVoodoo that will emulate an old GPU and allow you to keep the 4:3 aspect ratio as well as making the framerate smooth as butter.
Necronomicon is, for real, one of the best pinball games I ever played. Akira Psycho Ball was made by the same team, the also made Last Gladiator on Sega Saturn which is also a fantastic good pinball game too.
I spent hours playing Metroid Prime Pinball. I don't know how I did it, but when I did the Omega Pirate stage, I beat it in 37 seconds. I doubt I could do that again. The last actual Pinball machine that I remember playing was Star-Gate. I was on a trip with my dad, and we stopped at a truck stop for about 3 or so hours, and I kept pumping quarters into it. I must have broke the game, because when it told me to shoot the pyramid, I did. The game didn't do anything else after that. The flippers stopped working and I never got the ball back, so I think broke the machine. This was back around the mid 90s. Once that happened, I spent about an hour playing the arcade machine of Cruisin USA. So much better than the N64 port.
I love pinball games and so, perhaps unsurprisingly, really enjoyed the vid! 😁 Flipnic looks completely mad and now I want to play it. I wasn't awake Yoku was pinball-driven, I'd always assumed it was a 2D platformer with Yooka-Laylee vibes. It's been sitting on my shelf too long 😊
I get that, being British and talking about pinball, there's like a law that you have to mention it, but now I'm going to have the ⅔ of Pinball Wizard that I know stuck in my head all day.
OK, I admit all the choices in this vid fit the scale- believe it or not I managed to actually play "Odama" at the videogame store one of my friends works at, and it was hella funny! that said, tho: why in the 9 Circles of HELL "The Crush Trilogy (Alien, Devil's [known in the West as "Dragon's Fury"] and Yokai)" weren't on this vid? do you dames & gents at TripleJump have an explanation, let alone a justifiable excuse, for such omission?
Metroid prime pinball! I played that whilst on holiday in Bulgaria. Refusing to take my t shirt off whilst sitting by the pool and playing on my DS. I bought that title because it came with a rumble pack that you put into the GBA port on the bottom of your Nintendo DS. I was convinced i had made a savvy purchase. With all titles to surely come with extra rumbly goodness. Turned out to be a crap marketing gimmick.
Austin Powers and KISS Pinball are PC games running on the same engine as Balls of Steel (one of the best pinball games of the late 90's). Forget whatever playstation version of that game and get it on your computer. Everything will look *much* better than this 😂 Along with those 2 games, there is also Dirt Track Racing Pinball and the Devil's island table running on the very same engine as Balls of Steel Edit : Nice suggestions I didn't know about. Got some stuff to try out :)
Theres never enough anime games for the ps2, that never made it in the states. You would need a gen 1 PS3 thats also a test kit if you want to keep it "first-party" in the states, but then you would still want the game from ebay
You could probably do bizarre real world pinball machines. For example there's one called Monster Bash where you try to get the Universal monsters to form a rock band and perform a concert. It's actually pretty fun.
More proof that the 3DO should be actively scrubbed from history! Poor folks that laid down their hard-earned money for that gigantic turd back in the day...yikes!
Yoku's Island Express is such an overlooked gem.
Haven't even watched it yet and I'm so happy to see this comment. Glad they mentioned it. It deserves so much more love!!
Yoku's Island Express is great! I liked it so much I gifted it to a few of my friends. :D
Oh yeah, here we go, pub novelty time!

Neat to see a reference like that.
I spent many hours on Space Cadet in many work places with strict firewalls
i'm really surprised Screaming Mad George's ParanoiaScape on the psx didnt make the list
Same! I was so certain that Pataank would be #2, and ParanoiaScape #1...
Ever look at a list and think “oh yeah, Odama’s gonna be on that list.”
Yeah, this is that list lmao
pinball of the dead - GBA
Devish crush - Mega drive

I hadn't heard of most of these, but I love playing pinball. This was a great video. I played a ton of Sierra 3d pinball games when I was younger.

Alien Crush and Devil's Crush are at the top for me and Sonic Spinball isn't too bad either.
Yoku's island express: *bruh*
Creature in the well is pretty weird too, a third person dungeon crawling pinball ARPG.
they all look fun except for that number one lol
Would have added "Crüe Ball" starring Mötley Crüe for Genesis/Mega Drive.
Pinball of the Dead for the GBA deserves to be mentioned. So... there it is.
I know the Crush series is very famous but I think one of them (Alien Crush, Devil's Crush, Jaki Crush) or even the recent spiritual successor Demon's Tilt deserved to be in this video :)
Alien Crush Returns for WiiWare is a nice 3D reboot, if you can play it 👌
@@RetroCabeza Nice to know! Thanks!!!
@@RetroCabeza its abandonware now
Pinball Quest for NES and Pinball of the Dead for GBA are a couple of other good options, as well as the "Crush" trilogy.
I miss the «Space Cadet Pinball» included in Windows XP 😢

Pinball Quest for the NES deserves an honorable mention IMO just because it was so ahead of its time
I immediately ordered Flipnic off eBay when I saw it. I needed that in my life.
Yeah dude! The video I’ve been waiting for! “That deaf dumb and blind kid, sure plays a mean pin ball”🎶🎶🎶
Necronomicon is, for real, one of the best pinball games I ever played. Akira Psycho Ball was made by the same team, the also made Last Gladiator on Sega Saturn which is also a fantastic good pinball game too.
Can confirm that Rollers of the Realm is a pretty neato game that really deserves more attention.
Screaming Mad Georges Paranoiascape? Although probably worth avoiding the nightmare fuel.
There's also:
Adventure Pinball Forgotten Island;
SpongeBob SquarePants: 3D Pinball Panic.
Both games i played a lot back when i were younger :D
I spent hours playing Metroid Prime Pinball. I don't know how I did it, but when I did the Omega Pirate stage, I beat it in 37 seconds. I doubt I could do that again.

I'm surprised that Senran Kagura: Peach Ball didn't end up on the list.
Thank you...
I played yokus island express, it's really fun!
No mentioning of Devil Crash or Alien Crush? :(
Another great video by one of my favorite channels. I don't think I'm long for this world
I really enjoyed what little i played of Flipnic. Still have a PS2 and Flipnic.
Though I wish Flipnic got a current PC porting.
It's been sitting on my shelf too long 😊
I've never been more let down, I thought for sure Senran Kagura Peach Ball would be number 1, but then I realize it's not even on the list?
Certainly should be on the list and top as well.
Paranoiascape and Demon's Tilt are great titles as well.
I get that, being British and talking about pinball, there's like a law that you have to mention it, but now I'm going to have the ⅔ of Pinball Wizard that I know stuck in my head all day.
Unless you didn't mention it and it's all me...I can't remember.
I mean, you had to have, right?
(hadto've?...kidding)
it's been stuck in mine ever since I was a young boy
Flipnic looks fun as hell.
Great video, but you missed Paranoiascape!
9:30 I wonder of at least some of the team behind the flippering insane game are also the one's responsible for Parodius...
I guess The Pinball of the Dead counts as an honorable mention. But anyway, i missed playing Metroid Prime Pinball.
Demon's Tilt is a really good recent pinball game
Metroid prime pinball! I played that whilst on holiday in Bulgaria. Refusing to take my t shirt off whilst sitting by the pool and playing on my DS. I bought that title because it came with a rumble pack that you put into the GBA port on the bottom of your Nintendo DS. I was convinced i had made a savvy purchase. With all titles to surely come with extra rumbly goodness. Turned out to be a crap marketing gimmick.
Yoku's island express is really good. Even if you are not a big pinball fan. But do those even exist?
Pinball Fx3 is fantastic on Xbox. (you just have to purchase the tables afterwards, either individually or in group packages).
Yeah it's on PC too but that's just a good pinball game. It doesn't qualify as "weird"
rollers of the realm and zombie rollerz are great
Loved Metroid Prime Pinball. Played it to death.
Hoping for Pinball Pro for the Cybiko Experience on this list!
Crue Ball was the game of choice for my family
Power Rangers ZEO: Full Tilt Battle Pinball should've been on the list.
Weird pinball games are the best
"Pataaaaaaaaak..." 🤣
I thought ParanoiaScape would be #1. Maybe for the next top 10 I suppose.
Austin Powers and KISS Pinball are PC games running on the same engine as Balls of Steel (one of the best pinball games of the late 90's). Forget whatever playstation version of that game and get it on your computer. Everything will look *much* better than this 😂

Balls of Steel I believe was Crueball a Pinball game with Motley Crue theme to it.
LiKe SpIkE for our favorite video game channel!
Theres never enough anime games for the ps2, that never made it in the states. You would need a gen 1 PS3 thats also a test kit if you want to keep it "first-party" in the states, but then you would still want the game from ebay
flipnic is SO good
I honestly can’t tell you the last time I played pinball.
I would add ParanoiaScape for PS1 to the list.
Does a nascar pinball pc game count?
You could probably do bizarre real world pinball machines. For example there's one called Monster Bash where you try to get the Universal monsters to form a rock band and perform a concert. It's actually pretty fun.
No pinball ….. of the Dead
How you going to do my yoku island like that, calling it lvls when it’s a metroid vannia game, it’s almost like you guys didn’t even play it
" open world pinball game "
Space cadet!
More proof that the 3DO should be actively scrubbed from history! Poor folks that laid down their hard-earned money for that gigantic turd back in the day...yikes!
I have not been keeping up with TJ. Have they achieved their 10000 Facebook followers?
Your nr1 choice sucks but the rest of the selection rocks !
👽
sonic spinball doesn’t exist
❤️
Whole list is null, how was senran kagura peach ball not on the list, let alone #1? For shame.....
Pinballlll
Don't forget to set your playback speed back to normal after you're finished with this video.
interesting video tho your voice and poor attempt at being a comedian makes it hard to watch
