@@mourlyvold7655 Hi! greetings from Mexico where 70% of the of the people don't own a car but the 100% of us pays for car infrastructure, whether we use it or not.
Yup. Nothing quite like sacrificing part of a lane used by identifiable motorists who pay taxes and fees in order to accommodate anonymous cyclists who pay nothing at all. Brilliant.
They may own a vehicle and pay taxes, but not necessarily. Besides, that is irrelevant to the point. There are few, if any, fees or taxes that are directly associated with operating a bicycle.
@@95bochamp So anyone violating rules should be exempt of a ticket if they pay taxes ? And BTW cyclists are paying taxes as well, even the one that don't own a car or a driver's licence.
@Mario Grenier, Motorists pay specific fees and fuel-related taxes that are supposed to be allocated to road development and maintenance. Cyclists do not pay such fees, yet they not only use the roads but also demand parts of them be dedicated to their exclusive use. There is something wrong with that arrangement.
@@95bochamp I imagine that things are not very different between Montreal and Toronto. It is the property taxes (municipal) that are used to pay for street maintenance, parks, public libraries, water treatment, recycling and, you guessed it, cycle lanes. Every citizen pays for those. What motorists pay for, isn't for the municipal roads but for the provincial network (highways). In Quebec the gaz tax acconts for approximately 20% of the Transport Department budget. They need to start doing this everywhere. I know NY needs them badly.
then they would be ticketing NYPD cars only

God bless these officers! I hope they are still doing this. Drivers parking on bike lanes is such a hastle.
First, it should be made legal to park bicycles in the car lanes.
Maybe then some drivers will start to understand.
Cars would just run them over. Kinda like they try to do while they are going down the road.
I wish we had that in Des Moines
I am glad something is being done about it. There will be less death in Toronto this year. Keep up the good work.
@Mike Hecker Then take the cars off the road. They present the danger factor.

nobody uses them anyways besides these 3 toronto police
Great! I fully support this.
wow not even the 4 way magic parking lights saved them
Nevr seen these guys at all.Toronto needs to me like NYC,having a concrete divider between traffic and bikes, stops jaywalkers too.
We need a team like this here in Hungary. Good job guys!
selfie pic with ticket in hand and making faces priceless
Wow so the city of Toronto employees that are responsible for the city’s maintenance break the rules too wow nothing new
and my city doesn't even have bike lanes, someone take me out of mexico pls
I would like to volunteer in London
But dougie wants to remove bike lanes soo...
toronto police are smart for doing this
Or make the bike lanes with barricades.
Good, it was a long time coming !

If only they could enforce Disability Parking also.
what about building better cycling infrastructure?

Doug Ford won't like this but he's not Toronto mayor nor Chef of Police.
Is there a difference between parking and dropping off?
nope, not legally.
Isn't dropping off considered stopping?
Yes, there is a differentiation between Parking, Stopping, and Standing. They are all illegal in a bike lane though so it doesn't matter.

Under the HTA a bicycle is a vehicle and should be in the centre of the right lane. Bike lanes make no sense.
