I can identify. I thought of adding a step to the process then if hay bale on round edge. I'm a 72 yo widow. But first, if bale is on flat edge, I tie a ratchet strap near the top of a hay bale and link to another strap to my hitch. Slowly pull over to tip. If starting with the bale on its roundside, hammer a post into the bale above the center core. Slip the strap below the post. Pull w vehicle till it tips. Post keeps strap from slipping off while pulling.
paul wheaton shows some of their buildings are built on a sledge to help with moving them to different areas. It is in one of the dirtpatch videos. Using a carhood is sheer genius. Great idea!
Ok you lost me when you picked it up and turned it over 😂 currently have one stuck on the 4wheeler it’s turned on top of the winch rope 😂 can’t unhook the rope. Wish I could turn it 😂
we rope rounds and hook rope to hitch and pull them around like that. gotta make sure the rope is set no higher then a foot up from the bottom of bale or it will tip over.
I saw your video at Dirtpatcheaven today. I'm already a subscriber here. Love you pole barn. That is what I want to do in Lincoln County, NC but I'm not sure if the county is going to make me tear it down.
Martin DeLeon awesome bro thanks for watching. they let us do what we want out here in Oklahoma, the whole process was pretty easy for us, and that was good bc it's the first time we have ever built anything like this. Good luck man
Must be some small round bales? Most of ours weight between 1100 and 1800lbs. Looks like it worked for these lighter ones, just not sure how long that would hold up with repeated use.
Obviously not meant for repeated use. Worked for what he needed. Real farmers do what needs doing and don’t dis on others by claiming they don’t measure up to some arbitrary standard or pulling the one up card. Get a life.
Lol. Great job man! I'll have to pass this info along to my brother-in-law. He moves a lot of hay every year. Thanks for sharing! :)
Thanks Matt, hope it helps him, I'm actually about to go move another one right now lol. thanks for watching and the comment.
Necessity is the mother of invention. Nice job with making do with what you have.
I do feel bad for your livestock. They can't get a square meal. ;0)
+Pine Meadows Hobby Farm A Modern Homestead hahahaha good one
Outstanding!!!! Thank you for sharing, now I know how to move around with my CanAm and UTV!!!
Let me know how many belts you burn through 😂
Yo! THIS, this is what youtube is good for. Thankyou for this little video brother, very useful.
That is some good ole oklahoma stuff right there. I am going to try this.
You muscled that bale onto your sled? Pretty cool
Not a chance I could roll our round bales like that. Those those things are tiny.
I’m thinking the same thing lol
Worked great! Thanks!
Great idea but the bales I buy are too big for 5’2” me to tip over or roll onto a board.

Pretty slick! Nice!
Take care!
I do the same thing using an old car hood.
heck yes

How much do those round bales weigh?
great video.thanks
How much do those round bales weight in at?? I was wondering if it would work with our large bales we buy ... LOL

Hmm my 1800 lb hay bales just don’t tip over like that 🤔
I'm going to use this but use bull panel instead!
thats using your noggin. worked great.
thank you, yeah work just like in was thinking, that don't usually happen hahaha
That is fantastic!

Use a horse panel instead.. roll the bale on, tie up the ends some.. drag it wherever.. roll it off.
Horse panel ( 2×4sq.) Holds up better
I'm going to try that today
It's worked really well!
Smart thinking!
worked great huh
tractor just went out and have to move round bales out of an area that we can't get to with the truck, guess horse with a harness will have to work
epicmonsterbunniez heck ya man get it down. thanks for watching
That's the way to use your head!
Good post
My round bales weigh 1200 pounds, not sure I could just flip them over like that.
Thank You!!

I use two pieces of conduit. 1 1/4" and 3/4" drive the larger through the center then put the 3/4" inside and pull it like a spoke wheel.

thank you
Now how do back it up?
That's exactly how the Egyptians did it
Roll it where you want by pushing it with the pickup
No.. that's how you break headlights.. I know..🙃😂🤣
I rolled one for a good 30min before I gave up and gave it a google.
My hay bail weighs over 1300 pounds there’s no possible way to push it in any direction. I’m so stuck
If you have a truck a strap around the bale works.. just go slow.. you'd be surprised how much a bale will bounce at 10 mph!🤣
Awesome.
hey thanks for watching
Can you tell me how long does a bale last for 10 cows in winter?
Man I really dont know, 1 round lasted my 10 sheep about 3 and half weeks, guessing 10 cows less then a week?
Thanks.
Thanks. Is Sudan a type of forage?
That's how they built the pyramids!
Well, that's cheap and dirty
