Thank you SO MUCH for making a scarf tying video Michelle! Can't wait! I'm sure you've added all sizes/textures but would love that included. Scarves really pull an outfit together beautifully. Lovely examples you presented here. Thanks Michelle!
The best "old money" piece I have is a beautiful pair of tailored heavy pure linen mens trousers. They fit like a dream & cost me around 70 bucks secondhand! 😍
Hi Michelle, I would love to see you talk about elegant bohemian style (not hippy) & how to streamline it, as so many pieces that fit into a beautiful bohemian style are voluminous/shapeless & we all know that runs the risk of =frumpville!
I always want to see winter skirt and dress looks because that’s mostly what I wear, nearly everyday. These “draped bottom” styles are just much more comfortable, I find, and I have always worn them daily. The only exceptions were for field-work days, I’m a retired geologist, when long pants were generally required by the safety regulations. Today I’m wearing Sezane wool knit Matthew trousers, one of the few styles that feels comfy. I also love cashmere joggers or leggings, but mostly, a wool or cashmere dress is the best. I also love suede or leather skirt outfits. All with tights and tall boots for the cold, of course, and a long wool coat or wool blazer for milder weather. The other thing I would love to see is all-natural-fiber, even luxury, fabric/material clothing and accessories, I can’t wear any synthetics, even in blends. Thanks, Michelle, I enjoy your channel❤
Interesting video Looking forward to how to tie scarves wear a fair few of various weights I like loafers so have them and a navy trench coat Tommy Hilfiger which I love
@@capsuleclosetstylistin the 80s and early 90s I used to dress more Sloane/ smarter I think I just dress more causal nowadays since I had babies in middle 90s I went more comfortable so did a lot of other people But I do like classic pieces I only wear them here and there Loafers more often
Thanks, Michelle. I found a beautiful London Fog navy trench coat with a zip out flannel liner at a thrift store for $10.00! I scored big on that one 😊 Found silk shirts and scarfs in thrift shops as well. I enjoyed this video and I do have all of these pieces except a leather hand bag. Still looking for that one! Keep on keepin' on!
Slowly recovering from long term illness, and am finally turning my mind to my wardrobe....something that unfortunately hasn't been high on my list of priorities during these last few years. I do have some very beautiful clothes... classic suits, coats, tailored shirts and high quality t shirts and sweaters. But My illness has compelled me to streamline my life, so amongst other things I have begun decluttering my wardrobe. Your videos are helping me make some tough decisions on what still works, and what needs to go.
@alainemancini3366 Oh bless your heart. I am so glad you feel you can concentrate on you again. I am glad you have found it helpful. Take your time with it and let me know if I can help in any way. 😊
These are the backbone of my cool-season wardrobe: silk shirts (and a few silk blouses); silk slip skirts and wool skirts; silk, cashmere or Merino wool dresses; cashmere/Merino sweaters; wool blazers and long coats; and tall leather boots. For accessories - good leather, but not designer (ok, just a few!), leather bags and belts, quality jewelry and silk or cashmere scarves. I’m happy to see that most of these are on your recommended list for this look. I’ve always dressed this way, we just used to call it “Quiet Good Taste”, but it’s essentially the same look as the Old Money or Quiet Luxury style(s). Natural fabrics and materials, classic styles and quiet colors (neutrals, basics like navy, forest green and burgundy) and soft, light colors like pale blues and greens are the essence of this style.
I'm 4'10, and thick in nature (stocky, & petite... size xl; 59 in age) I love simple, easy, comfort, like leisure ware, that's soft and beautiful. Linens, cotton, buttery soft natural materials) I want a simple closet, easy to put together a look without the fuss. I'm an artist/writer/musician, at home body. Bohemian in style, been told. Also, love to sew, favor loose dresses. Often look into patterns that are very unique, like the Japanese styles, and empire waist with pockets, prairie dresses. Feminine looks. Love your channel! I want to reduce my closet to a nice simple mix and match. Will start the advised Pinterest pages.
@colleeniles I think it depends on many factors like your height and face shape. Generally, go for something with a tinner brim if you are petite and wider if you are taller. If you are looking for height, then a fedora can work wonders. But match it through to somewhere else in your outfit. Learn which colours work for you and choose one in one of those colours as that will pull your outfit together. I hope that helps?
Epitome is a Greek word, there are no silent Es in Greek as there are in English and French. So, it’s pronounced e-PI-toe-mee, even in standard, everyday English.🙂
Thank you for your video I always really enjoy them. The only thing that would help is for your name to be advertised on them as I sometimes find them harder to find on my feed. Just about to down load your guide and join your monthly club.
@fionagoff2161 Thank you for this suggestion. Do you mean my personal name or Capsule Closet Stylist? This is a very good point by the way. Thank you for raising it!
I’m a normal-weight petite (about US size 6 to 8) with a tiny frame, hands, feet and head. Oversized clothes look absolutely ridiculous on me, I have tried many styles, but not bought a single thing in this fit. Even some accessories look silly on me, they’re just scaled for much larger women, especially if they’re from those mature brands (which I’ve learned to avoid). I don’t want to look like an little, old, child wearing clothes from the dress-up box! I don’t like very tight clothes, either, just a slightly relaxed, body-skimming fit. Recently I have been sizing down to just get an average fit in everything, I wish brands would say if the clothes are oversized, it would help a lot. I love tailored styles in soft, luxurious fabrics. My look is already feminine, because of wearing a dress or skirt nearly everyday, so I like to include some tailored elements, like collared shirts or a good leather belt, for that masculin/feminine look that French women do so beautifully. A analysis of French style might be a fun topic for you to do.🙂
Thankfully that oversized trend is on its way out again now. It is just very frustrating and looks sloppy. I have a video on French style coming up very soon!

Really helpful, thankyou. I think 'old money style' seems to be what us oldies would call 'Classic style'. Lovely
@Kay-it4ed Yes quite possibly you are correct.

My favorite thing thing to wear everyday is a Cartier Tank watch from the 1970's!

@Quillsongs This is fantastic because it sounds as if you have a good understanding of what works for you. Yes do, let me know how you get on.
Looking forward to the scarf tying video. I love scarfs but always seem to have a problem tying them in a way that doesn't overwhelm my small face!
@andrewfrancesleonard5727 Look out for it early in the New Year. 😊
